  1. On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 18: "The Big Abare with the Dinosaur Robot Drill" (恐竜ロボットドリルで大アバレ) Legend of the Week: Kotaro Tanaka as Dr. Mikoto Nakadai Villain of the Week: Action Commander Osogain Gokai Color of the Week: Silver Past Sentai of the Week: Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (Power Rangers Samurai) Gai reveals to the Gokaigers that while recovering from his injuries after saving a girl from a car accident, the spirits of Dragon Ranger, Time Fire and Abare Killer granted him the powers of the Zyurangers (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Timerangers (Power Rangers Time Force) and Abarangers (Power Rangers Dino Thunder) and the ability to change into Gokai Silver. However, as Gai has yet to unlock those powers, Captain Marvelous confiscates his Gokai Cellular and Ranger Key until he can prove himself worthy to be a Gokaiger. Despite having the week off last Sunday, this show keeps getting better by the minute. The appearances of Dragon Ranger, Time Fire and Abare Killer may be very short, but they do add to Gai's back-story. Shinkenger fans will love the scene where all six Gokaigers change into the Samurai Sentai. Plus, we are introduced to Gokai Silver's mecha: Gozyujin. I'm not a big fan of dinosaur-based mecha in the Super Sentai series, but Gozyujin has a design that actually works on all three of its modes (Gozyudrill, Gozyurex and Gozuyjin). And thankfully, Gozyujin's fight uses significantly less CG than those of Gokaioh's. Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 19: "Armor of the 15 Warriors" (15戦士の鎧) Don feels left out, now that Gai is part of the crew.
  2. I wonder how much these critics got paid to have their names posted on the reviews... DOTM Accolades Trailer
  3. This mofo is so gonna be on my Super Sentai shelf when it comes out, right next to my Super Robot Chogokin Shinkenoh. Super Robot Chogokin Gokaioh
  4. Wow, it actually took you over a year to notice that.
  5. The original Voltron series was a kids' show, but the opening was epic and the story was involving. So what's the point in saying Voltron Farce is just a kids' show?
  6. In addition to the reports above, Agent Abrella from Dekaranger and Yakyu Kamen (Baseball Mask) from Goranger will return as supporting villains in the movie.
  7. WTF is with the Gangsta Rap intro theme?
  8. Everyone's favorite Redneck in Japan has the Dual Model Kit up for review.
  9. Finally completed the paint job on my Dekaranger Robo. Here's a slideshow of it. Enjoy.
  10. We already have a live-action Gatchaman... sort of. It's called Choujin Sentai Jetman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioXxOuMLtmE
  11. The E30 series (1982-1994) is undoubtedly the best generation of BMW's 3 Series. So as a tribute, the Top Gear trio buy some used E30 convertibles as part of the latest Cheap Car Challenge.
  12. Earlier this week, a press conference was held to announce this summer's tokusatsu double-bill: Kamen Rider OOO Wonderful: The Shogun and the 21 Core Medals and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger The Movie: The Flying Ghost Ship. To no surprise, the Gokaiger movie will be presented in 3D in select theaters. This also marks Gokai Silver's first press conference appearance.
  13. Another one bites the dust... IMAGI: CG Gatchaman Movie Trashed
  14. Wrong movie, dude. THIS is the Robotech Live-Action Movie!
  15. I thought Avatar looked great on IMAX. The biggest disappointment I had with 3D was Tron: Legacy, as IMAX did nothing to really make the experience different from 2D.
  16. Minipla Tokusou Busou Blast Buggy (特捜武装ブラストバギー) Bandai, 2004 Made in Japan; 2007 reissue made in China Contents Blast Buggy Ramune-flavored candy In Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger The Movie: Full Blast Action, the Dekarangers travel to the ravaged planet Leslie to battle the Alienizer criminal Volger. But when Volger's Killer Tank is about to destroy Dekaranger Robo, Deka Break barges in with the Blast Buggy and combines with Dekaranger Robo to form Dekaranger Robo Full Blast Custom. Like its DX counterpart, this kit serves as a Tokusou Busou (Special Investigation Armament) add-on to the Minipla Dekaranger Robo. unfortunately, it is a huge letdown if you don't have Dekaranger Robo. Blast Buggy's parts are molded in black, white and clear red - and white is never used on the film model. This means you have to use a lot of silver paint to make it screen-accurate. Also, because of the small number of parts, the completed kit looks and feels very hollow. Blast Buggy consists of two components: the buggy itself and the foldable Blast Launcher. But this is how it should be displayed. "Tokusou Busou!" "Build Up! Dekaranger Robo Full Blast Custom!" The buggy transforms into the Blast Shield, which has a retractable blade that Dekaranger Robo can use to plant the shield to the ground while executing the Spinning Blast attack. The instruction manual says that the Blast Launcher should be held upright like a bazooka, but in the movie, Dekaranger Robo holds it upside down - either because of a weight issue or it just looks cooler. For the Full Blast Custom's finisher, Dekaranger Robo places the Blast Shield on the ground as a balancing mount for the Blast Launcher to execute the Full Blast Launcher, which is powerful enough to take down an entire row of Kaijuuki units. In short, this kit is useless without Dekaranger Robo, but once combined, Dekaranger Robo Full Blast Custom just looks sweet. "GOT YOU!" Detail: C Features: B- Articulation: C-
  17. Here's somewhat of a shocker: this August, Toei will re-dub Power Rangers S.P.D. in Japanese and broadcast it on the Toei Channel. The big kicker is that the original Dekaranger cast will be dubbing their American counterparts. Rie Tanaka (Chii in Chobits, Lacus Clyne in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED) will do the Japanese voice of Katherine "Kat" Manx while Mako Ishino - who played Swan-san in Dekaranger - will do the opening narration. One must wonder why only now does Toei do this, as the show is over six years old. パワーレンジャー・S.P.D.
  18. Damn you, Takara Tomy! Take my money now! Transformers Dual Model Kit Galleries from Tokyo Toy Show
  19. No major surprise here, but Starz has green-lit a live-action TV adaptation of NOIR, with Sam Raimi (like nobody here knows who he is...), Rob Tapert (The Evil Dead series) and Stephen Lightfoot (Criminal Justice) as executive producers. I was hoping for it to be French and produced by Luc Besson, though. Live-Action NOIR TV Series Green-Lit
  20. No. You would need to do a lot of modification for that to happen, as both rails on the Barrel Break and the Recon's barrel attachment are positive (not negative like the Dart Tag Strikefire).
  21. I could care less about ticket costs, as the local board of censors issued me a movie pass that's good until September. The only theaters not covered by the pass are the ultra ones with the reclining seats and unlimited popcorn.
  22. It worked for Paranormal Activity, so I'm not surprised.
