CollectionDX reviews the Comic-Con exclusive Blazing Sword Voltron figure by Mattel. And it actually looks pretty good.

On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 22: "A Promise on a Shooting Star" (星降る約束) Legend of the Week: None Villain of the Week: Action Commander Stargle Gokai Color of the Week: N/A Past Sentai of the Week: Tensou Sentai Goseiger (next year's Power Rangers), Gosei Sentai Dairanger (season 2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Chouriki Sentai Ohranger (Power Rangers Zeo) Joe and Gai meet a young boy who is headed toward a mountain to fulfill a promise made a year ago. Meanwhile, the Zangyack Empire sends Action Commander Stargle to activate a relic on that same mountain to bring forth destruction on Earth. For a filler episode, this is actually very entertaining. The ending may be a bit over-the-top (even by most Super Sentai standards), but it shows that the Gokaigers are a very cohesive team - especially since they're pirates. It's also good to see all six members change into the Dairangers, even though it was only for at most 10 seconds. Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 23: "People's Lives Are the Future of the World" (人の命は地球の未来) The Gokaigers meet the former Go Pink of KyuuKyuu Sentai GoGoFive.

Have you tried Mr. Color #58 Orange Yellow? I'm not sure about the particular shade of yellow on the DMK-02, but this paint matches the Deluxe BB figures. -

I wonder if the toy commercials in the DVD set will have the kids' faces blurred out like in the Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary DVD. If not, don't be surprised if HG gets slapped with a lawsuit.

There were no Harriers in the TF movies. Dirge was not in the movies, but was part of the ROTF toy line. BTW, General Dynamics no longer owns the rights to the F-16, as it sold its manufacturing business to Lockheed Martin in 1993. They did return to manufacturing aircraft, but only through Gulfstream Aerospace - which does mostly civilian aircraft.

The Deluxe Starscream has a bit of bottom kibble in fighter mode as expected, but the robot mode is very impressive.

The best DOTM Leader Class figure is Bumblebee, while the best overall movie line Leader Class figure is ROTF Optimus Prime. Quality-wise, they're pretty good. While they provide a very challenging level of transformation and lots of articulation points, there are limitations on poseability. For example, Optimus Prime has only closed fists that hold weapons, while Bumblebee has only one hand that has a wrist hinge. In addition, Optimus Prime's spring-loaded forearm weapons (swords in ROTF, hooks in the Hunt for the Decepticons version) like to get in the way of the arms. Otherwise, these are the two you should pick up.

On this week's episode of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 21: "The Heart of an Adventurer" (冒険者の心) Legend of the Week: Mitsuomi Takahashi (Hayate in Cho Ninja-tai Inazuma!) as Satoru Akashi Villain of the Week: Creator King Ryuuwon Gokai Color of the Week: N/A Past Sentai of the Week: GoGo Sentai Boukenger (Power Rangers Operation Overdrive) and Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers) Satoru Akashi - the former Bouken Red - asks the Gokaigers to help him on a quest to recover a Precious known as the "Heart of Hades". The Zangyack Empire is also on the trail, but they're the least of the Gokaigers' worries - as an arch-nemesis of the Boukengers returns from the dead. Despite its simplistic plot, this episode is one of the better Super Sentai tributes with its non-stop action and a little more back-story on Captain Marvelous and Aka Red. As a matter of fact, it's so much better than the entire 2006 snooze-fest GoGo Sentai Boukenger. I might even give that show another chance because of this. Plus, we get to see three Gokaigers become the Kakurangers - whose attacks are so powerful that not only do you feel them, you can read them! Next week on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Episode 22: "A Promise on a Shooting Star" (星降る約束) Joe hates kids, but he and Gai must help one fulfill a friend's wish.

After over five years of avoiding this movie, I finally decided to watch it over the weekend - especially after someone pointed out that parts of the car chase scene were recycled into Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I'll just say that The Island is not a bad movie, but is much too derivative of '70s dystopian sci-fi films such as Logan's Run and THX 1138. The whole fiasco of it plagiarizing Parts: The Clonus Horror doesn't help, either. (I haven't seen Parts: The Clonus Horror yet, but after watching the trailer, I'm convinced The Island ripped it off.) The special effects are very good and the cinematography is actually tolerable compared to Bay's other works. It would have been a better movie if the story had a sense of originality.

Tell me about it - I watched the first one and got bored very quickly. Every time LOTR is brought up, I'm always reminded of Randal's analogy of it in Clerks II: -

I've seen only two Harry Potter films, but not by choice. An ex-girlfriend of mine was a huge fan, so I went to watch Order of the Phoenix with her. Then we watched Goblet of Fire at a relative's place. As for DOTM, I've seen it four times - including once on IMAX and twice in 3D. -
