  1. It was once ranked as one of the worst songs ever by Rolling Stone and other magazines, but the Muppets actually made it cool to sing along. And now for a Kleenex moment... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtJqxWOL5Jc&hd=1
  2. This week, on Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters: Mission 6: "Combine! Go-Buster-Oh" (合体!ゴーバスターオー) A captured Vaglass Megazord being studied by the Energy Management Center gives Enter the opportunity to infiltrate the base and reactivate the mecha. As Enter activates the hangar's self-destruct sequence, Hiromu must find a way to save his comrades trapped inside. After a couple of dull episodes, the action finally picks up with the debut of Go-Buster-Oh. In a rather different approach from the traditional Super Sentai robots, we see how the combining sequence is done in front of the enemy mecha. Just like GaoGaiGar, the Buster Vehicles form a protective barrier to prevent any outside interference. The finished product looks a bit like DaiBouken of GoGo Sentai Boukenger. Because the combined mode is a major Enetron guzzler, Go-Buster-Oh's fights are gonna be very short. It's just too bad the DX toy doesn't look as good.
  3. Really? I wouldn't know, as the Acer I own didn't have an OS (or even a hard drive, as it was originally equipped with an 8GB SSD) in the first place. And most of you don't know bloatware unless you've owned a Sony VAIO.
  4. I didn't want to say it, but she was really cute in Talladega Nights. But then again, that was six years and 20 lbs. ago.

It's time to get things started on the most sensational Inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational This is what we call our Muppet Show! Synopsis Walter fulfills his childhood dream when he, Gary and Mary travel to Los Angeles to visit the Muppet Studios, only to find it in a derelict condition. And when they find out that oil baron Tex Richman has purchased the studios with the intent of demolishing it and drilling for oil underneath, they must get Kermit the Frog to regroup the old gang and host a telethon to raise $10 million to save their home. Lowdown It's great to be a Muppet fan again. The Muppets is not only the first Muppet film in over 12 years, it celebrates the 35th anniversary of The Muppet Show. And what a triumphant return! Just about every Muppet you grew up with is back, and they're as wacky as ever. Many of their characteristics are still intact as if the last episode of The Muppet Show (which aired in 1981) was just yesterday. Even The Muppet Telethon opening number is spot-on to the original show's iconic sequence. And even though Walter is the newest Muppet, he really holds his ground as the film's lead Muppet. Another big plus is, as with all Muppet features, the music. You can't help but sing along to the musical numbers - even the ever-cheesy Starship song "We Built This City". And the Muppet Barbershop Quartet's rendition of Nirvana's "Smell's Like Teen Spirit" is priceless. Of course, this film wouldn't be complete without new performances of the landmark Muppet songs "Rainbow Connection" and "Mah Na Mah Na". But perhaps the main showstopper is the Oscar-winning song "Man or Muppet" by Gary and Walter. Yes, the Muppets are great as usual, but how about the human actors? Jason Segel and Amy Adams deliver a great performance, even though Adams is not as cute as she was in her previous films. Chris Cooper doesn't do much as the film's villain, but even for such a cheesy role, he is one villain you'd love to hate. Jack Black's uncredited appearance really brings down the house as the Muppets kidnap him and torture him with their skits. The cameo list is a who's who of stars from yesterday and today, including Sheldon Cooper as Walter's human form in the "Man or Muppet" segment. In short, The Muppets is not only a big love letter to long-time Muppet fans, but also one of the best family films of this century. 6. Usually, it's user error that's to blame, but Compaqs are almost always guaranteed to break down, regardless of how much you take care of them. Good thing HP killed the brand, even though HP computers are also crap.
  7. Last week, on Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters: Mission 5: "Dangerous Overheated Rampage!" (キケンな熱暴走!) During another battle with a Metaroid, Ryuji overheats and shows Yoko how fatal his weak point can be. This episode is further proof that Yoko is the weak link of the series. I don't know if it's the character or the actress, but having her become a crybaby in this episode brought this show down a few notches. Nevertheless, the true revelation of Ryuji's weak point makes up for that one downside. Oh yeah, ratings must be down if the episode is resorting to slapstick comedy...

  9. I've been aching to start a discussion on this for a while, so here's the question: Is Sony worth buying anymore? Back in the old days, there was practically only one brand that people related to when it came to electronics. Television? Sony Trinitron. Music? Sony Walkman. Hell, even though their Betamax bit the dust, Sony still made excellent VHS VCRs. Sony was THE household name for electronics in the '80s and '90s. Nowadays, the Trinitron name is long dead and the TV market is now dominated by Samsung. Sony is still struggling to keep the Walkman name alive following the advent of the iPod. Hell, they're sticking their noses into businesses they practically don't belong to; most notably computers. VAIO always has been, and always will be, overpriced and overrated for what they are capable of, not to mention the tons of bloatware stuffed into them. I feel sorry for my dad, as he bought a VAIO P, only to find out that Sony abandoned the series. At least VAIO laptops are more reliable than anything HP makes. BTW, anyone here own a Sony Tablet (Talk about desperately jumping the bandwagon.)? Another thing Sony is notorious for is swallowing a company and eventually screwing up on the industry that company was best known for. Take Minolta, for example. For decades, it was a leading brand of professional cameras, just behind Canon and Nikon. When Sony acquired Konica Minolta's camera division, they cannibalized their technology and came up with the Alpha - the worst DSLR line I've used so far. I'm not even gonna talk about Sony's cell phones, as I've never owned an Ericsson. These days, the Sony name brand is only worthwhile in the video game industry, as the PlayStation is the #1 home console brand and the PSP/PS Vita is the #2 portable console. So, aside from their PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, is Sony worth buying anymore?
  10. Just what we need this year: another Resident Evil movie. Yes, Resident Evil: Retribution will once again be under the husband-wife duo of Paul W. S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich. It will also be a reunion film of sorts, with Michelle Rodriguez and others reprising their roles from the previous films. Also, the teaser trailer doubles as a Sony commercial. Sony must be really desperate... Wow... Daft Punk music from Tron: Legacy. Guess they couldn't think of any other musical score to use. Official Site
  11. So, who in here watched the film adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel The Hunger Games? I just saw it earlier tonight. Yes, it has some plot issues, the shaky camerawork is severely nauseating, and the costume design is too weird by dystopian standards, but it's almost as watchable as Battle Royale. Almost. 12. Well, I picked up a Samsung Galaxy W, since I don't care much about the higher-end models like the S II and Note.
  13. Nothing like a timeless classic to start the day.
  14. So, did anyone here watch the recent Muppets movie? The Toy Story short "Small Fry" featured a cameo appearance by a Condorman toy.
