  1. They picked Rosa Klebb not only for shock value, but also because of the sinister character she portrayed. But hey - people these days consider Judi Dench to be a Bond Girl. I have to go watch Licence to Kill again to see why EW didn't like Carey Lowell. Back in 1995, they ranked Talisa Soto as the worst Bond Girl, so they seem to have some questionable history with that movie. And yeah, Dr. No not in the top 10 - moreover the top 5 - makes no sense. They're trying to stress out the fact that Ian Fleming himself hated the film adaptation. If I were to rearrange the order from best to worst, here's how I see it: 1. Goldfinger (1964) 2. Casino Royale (2006) 3. Skyfall (2012) 4. From Russia with Love (1963) 5. Dr. No (1962) 6. GoldenEye (1995) 7. The Spy who Loved Me (1977) 8. For Your Eyes Only (1981) 9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) 10. Thunderball (1965) 11. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) 12. You Only Live Twice (1967) 13. Diamonds Are Forever (1971) 14. Live and Let Die (1973) 15. Octopussy (1983) 16. The Living Daylights (1987) 17. Licence to Kill (1989) 18. Quantum of Solace (2008) 19. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) 20. Moonraker (1979) 21. A View to a Kill (1985) 22. Die Another Day (2002) 23. The World Is Not Enough (1999) How would you rank the movies?
  2. Entertainment Weekly recently ranked the Best and Worst Bond Girls from 1962 to 2008. To no surprise, here's what they gathered: Best Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder (Dr. No) Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore (Goldfinger) Halle Berry as Jinx (Die Another Day) Eva Green as Vesper Lynd (Casino Royale) Michelle Yeoh as Wai Lin (Tomorrow Never Dies) Barbara Bach as Maj. Anya Amasova/Agent XXX (The Spy who Loved Me) Jill St. John as Tiffany Case (Diamonds Are Forever) Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp (GoldenEye) Diana Rigg as Countess Teresa "Tracy" Di Vicenzo (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb (From Russia with Love) Carole Bouquet as Melina Havelock (For Your Eyes Only) Olga Kurylenko as Camille Montes (Quantum of Solace) Worst Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones (The World Is Not Enough) Lois Chiles as Holly Goodhead (Moonraker) Maud Adams as Octopussy (Octopussy) Tanya Roberts as Stacey Sutton (A View to a Kill) Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight (The Man with the Golden Gun) Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier (Licence to Kill) Corinne Clery as Corinne Dufour (Moonraker) Lynn-Holly Johnson as Bibi Dahl (For Your Eyes Only) Maryam d'Abo as Kara Milovy (The Living Daylights) Karin Dor as Helga Brandt (You Only Live Twice) Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields (Quantum of Solace) Yeah, it's a rather incomplete list, as it's missing Daniela Bianchi (who obviously should be ranked among the best), Jane Seymour, Sophie Marceau, Teri Hatcher and Madonna (who would probably rank among the worst). In addition, here's EW's Top 23 Bond Films: 1. Goldfinger (1964) 2. From Russia with Love (1963) 3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) 4. Skyfall (2012) 5. Thunderball (1965) 6. Casino Royale (2006) 7. GoldenEye (1995) 8. The Spy who Loved Me (1977) 9. For Your Eyes Only (1981) 10. Octopussy (1983) 11. Licence to Kill (1989) 12. A View to a Kill (1985) 13. Dr. No (1962) 14. Live and Let Die (1973) 15. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) 16. The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) 17. Diamonds Are Forever (1971) 18. The Living Daylights (1987) 19. You Only Live Twice (1967) 20. The World Is Not Enough (1999) 21. Quantum of Solace (2008) 22. Die Another Day (2002) 23. Moonraker (1979)
  3. DX MMZ-01 Moe Moe Z-Cune (MMZ-01 モエモエズキューン) Bandai, 2012 Made in China Requires two LR44 watch batteries (not included) Contents DX MMZ-01 Moe Moe Z-Cune Display stands for figure and gun modes At ¥12,600, the DX MMZ-01 Moe Moe Z-Cune not the most expensive Super Sentai toy, but it is the priciest henshin device available on a retail level. Unlike other henshin devices, the MMZ-01 is not something one wears around with them. Instead, it's a static figure of the anime character Aoi Ichikawa from the fictional anime Nijiyome Gakuen Z-Cune that transforms into a futuristic-looking handgun. When you hold the figure and yell, "Jumoso!" (重妄想 "Grand Delusion!"), nothing really happens. Unlike the one used in the TV series, the MMZ-01 does not transform automatically. Instead, you have to manually open/close panels to transform it from figure to gun and back. The trigger plays gunshot sound effects and Aoi's "Zuukyuun!" yell, while a button on top of her head emits the communicator signal tone. Despite the lack of auto-transformation, the MMZ-01 makes up for its shortcomings with its outstanding paint job and true 1/1 scale. The toy is spot-on with the colors and patterns used in the TV version. Its rather hefty weight makes it a very solid toy as well. Overall, the MMZ-01 is an excellent display piece on anyone's cabinet, whether they're into Super Sentai toys or anime girl figures. Detail: A Features: B+ Articulation: B-
  4. The DB5 in Casino Royale is not the same car as the one here, as that one is left-hand drive. AFAIK, the Skyfall DB5 is treated as a relic of the old MI6. After all, M recognized that red button on the shift knob.
  5. On this week's episode of Kamen Rider Wizard: Episode 10: "National Security Agency Section Zero" (国家安全局0課) Kizaki and his NSA Section Zero abduct Wajima for a top-secret project. Meanwhile, the latest Gate to be targeted is a boy from Kizaki's past. After several episodes in secrecy, we slowly begin to learn more about Section Zero's true motives. While Kizaki sees Haruto as a potential threat due to the Phantom within him, he needs Wajima to craft a ring out of a stone his outfit had acquired. Still, there's a lot that Kizaki is hiding from everyone, especially the Gate whose father was his mentor. Meanwhile, the Phantom of the week is Gargoyle, who has the ability to turn his body into stone, making himself impervious to attacks. We also learn that Phoenix lives up to his name by having the ability to resurrect after being killed by Kamen Rider Wizard in the last episode. However, he will need time to fully recover before we see a rematch. Next week on Kamen Rider Wizard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2xSLTHLeMg&hd=1 Episode 11: "A Promise to Defend" (守り抜く約束) Kizaki shows that he's not all that bad.
  6. Some new pics of my most recent blasters: The Avengers Hawkeye Bow - I've never owned a Big Bad Bow before, but now I know why it's sought after by many collectors. The firing distances are mad. Too bad spare ammo is not available where I'm at, and this blaster completely sold out on the first week of The Avengers' theatrical release. N-Strike Elite Stockade - Less than two years ago, I picked up the Barricade RV-10 as my first Nerf blaster. Since then, I gave away my two Barricades to upgrade to this. Remarkably, it does fire at longer distances than the old Barricade, and the additional stock makes it look totally boss. Unfortunately, non-American countries have all of their N-Strike Elite blasters deprived of firing power, as they go up to 15 meters maximum instead of the 75 feet of the U.S. versions. Still, the Stockade is a very impressive blaster. I'm looking to pick up the Rampage before Christmas.
  7. You may love or hate this movie, but you have to admit that this is one of the best car chase scenes ever filmed.
  8. Now, going completely back on topic, here are some commercials by AXE Hair. Viewer discretion advised on the last one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNO8SMyLskE&hd=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0zKQ3dxrms&hd=1 WARNING: NSFW!!!
  9. 21 Jump Street is based on the 1987 TV series that helped jumpstart the FOX Network. The film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, with special appearances from original TV cast members Johnny Depp, Holly Robinson Peete, and Peter DeLuise. The film premiered on March 16 and has earned US$201 million at the box-office. It's also gotten good reviews, with an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Due to the success of this film, a sequel is in the works. Official Site
  10. Set for release on June 6, 2014 is Edge of Tomorrow, the Hollywood adaptation of the sci-fi novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Directed by Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jumper) the film stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton. The screenplay was originally written by Dante Harper, but it underwent numerous revisions under Joby Harold (Awake), Steve Kloves (the Harry Potter series, The Amazing Spider-Man), Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, The Wolverine), Tim Kring (Crossing Jordan, Heroes), Jez Butterworth (Fair Game), Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, Star Trek). This is already not a good sign. And here's the first set of teaser posters: Edge of Tomorrow @ IMDb
  11. As I've said before on the Music thread, this song's worn out its welcome months ago, but NGSMOOV does it again.
