  1. And now for something a little different. Takara Tomy's YouTube channel has episodes of Transformers, for those who have never seen the Japanese dub. Be warned that the videos may or may not work in the U.S. (viewers in Asia can see these episodes just fine). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL5EQmn7O24 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1U9saSojQQ
  2. Super Power Beat Down is an online series produced by Bat in the Sun Productions (the company behind the acclaimed Batman fan films City of Scars and Seeds of Arkham) and featured on Machinima. It features one-on-one matches between icons of comic books, movies and video games, as portrayed by cosplayers. Those of you who follow the MW Automotive Thread may already be familiar with this show, as episode 1 featured the Batmobile drag race. Here's the list of episodes:
  3. And here's why the fight scenes look good: Takanori Shibahara is a veteran stunt coordinator who was a suit actor for Super Sentai shows from Battle Fever J (1979) to Kagaku Sentai Dynaman (1983), as well as the Metal Hero Series from 1982 to 1985. His company Wild Stunts has done other works in Super Sentai and Kamen Rider franchises before doing China's first tokusatsu show Armor Hero (2008). Wild Stunts Group - Takanori Shibahara
  4. They've bootlegged Macross and Gundam, and now, the Chinese are taking a crack on copying Super Sentai. Giant Saver (巨神戰擊隊 Jùshén zhàn jí duì, or "Titan Sqadron") just premiered on Chinese television this month. And I'm actually disappointed. Disappointed that unlike Astro Plan, this show actually looks good. The fight choreography and special effects are surprisingly better than what the Americans use on Power Rangers, and the mecha designs are unbelievably impressive. Because of this, I can't really make fun of this show. It's amazing! Are you watching this, Haim Saban? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALLVZ4k3M5A Jushen ZhanJiDui, a Chinese Super Sentai Series
  5. Could this be the best Django movie ever? Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 100%
  6. I still think the Adam West Batmobile is the best of the bunch, but I'll have to admit that the George Clooney Batmobile looks badass. Maybe because the documentary made it look good.
  7. And this goes to show that you should never trust some software that shares a name with a crappy Milla Jovovich vampire movie.
  8. Reviews are out, and it's turning out to be a bit of a disappointment compared to the trilogy. Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 69%
  9. It's called "buggy rollin'/body blading", which was invented by a Frenchman named Jean-Yves Blondeau in the 1990s. Blondeau himself trained Chan to body blade. Here's another trailer featuring the extended body blading scene and behind-the-scenes footage.
  10. Here's a demo of the new Mazinger Z's remote control features:
  11. Huh? What the hell are you talking about? Quit using Google Translate and speak straight English.
  12. Okay, now that's being way over the top. Hopefully, it'll be better than the last Lone Ranger movie.
  13. The Armour of God saga continues with Chinese Zodiac. Jackie Chan reprises his role as the treasure hunter Asian Hawk, as he begins his quest to take back 12 bronze animal heads of the Chinese zodiac that were looted during the Second Opium War. Chinese Zodiac premieres in Hong Kong on December 12. Official Site
  14. Finally saw this movie. Definitely not the best animated Batman movie (that title will forever belong to Mask of the Phantasm), but it does its job at translating the graphic novel to a more widespread medium. Gonna re-read the graphic novel this week to do a deeper comparison.
  15. Manly tears will be shed once you play Disc 2 of The Dark Knight Blu-ray.
