  1. Quoting a 500+ word post and forcing others to scroll down further to read your reply is uncool, but thanks anyway.
  2. Gangster Squad was originally scheduled to open on September 7, but due to the Aurora shooting, the scene involving a shootout in Grauman's Chinese Theatre was removed from the final cut and the main action sequence was re-shot on August. The film was just released yesterday, but things aren't looking so good with the reviews: Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 34% - "Though it's stylish and features a talented cast, Gangster Squad suffers from lackluster writing, underdeveloped characters and an excessive amount of violence." Roger Ebert: 2 out of 4 stars - "[Mobsters* is] still a marginally better film than Gangster Squad, and that's faint praise indeed." (*Mobsters is already the worst mobster film ever made, having a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.)
  3. Coming exclusively to Toys "R" Us is the 20th Anniversary Legacy Power Morpher. Like the original, it features light and sound effects, and it comes with five Ranger coins (sorry, Tommy fans). However, unlike the original toy, this one's made of diecast metal. Yours for only US$49.99.
  4. Rather than waste time on a crappy video, let's get back to some real music.
  5. For those unfamiliar, Speed TV has a reality series called Car Warriors. Think of it as Iron Chef with cars... and a lot of yelling and fighting in front of the camera. Here's the recap episode of season 1, where the show's All Stars recall the 15 best moments while the judges name the car of the year.
  6. Just watched this movie over the weekend. Definitely won't win any awards for originality, but its style of storytelling is very unique. Brilliant performances by everyone who participated in all six storylines, and also to Doona Bae (though her role in the 1849 story arc is a bit oddball). And Hugo Weaving as a Nurse Rached clone is priceless.
  7. The series is nearing its end, and Toei and Bandai execs appear to be very disappointed. According to this article, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters averaged a 6.9 rating among kids on its first 21 episodes, making it the least-viewed Super Sentai show over the past decade. There have also been reports of Bandai calling the show "dark" as a result of low toy sales. Because of this, this February's replacement Super Sentai series will have a more lighthearted atmosphere. In other news: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGkb-i1Ebd0 As a means to help boost the Go-Busters' disappointing toy sales, the Gokaigers return in this year's Super Sentai crossover film Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters vs. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Movie, which premieres on January 19. And in typical Toei fashion, the film will mark the debut of this year's Super Sentai: Juuden Sentai Kyoryuger (yet another dinosaur-based team). Saban will definitely be all over this in the years to come. Juuden Sentai Kyoryuger in Hyper Hobby Magazine

  10. Long before the release of The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony Pictures Entertainment announced May 2, 2014 as the release date for the as-yet-untitled sequel. Marc Webb will return to the director's chair and Andrew Garfield has been confirmed to once again wear the mask and web shooters. Emma Stone will also be returning as Gwen Stacy. Other than that, here are some of the rumors and news bits surrounding the sequel: Production James Vanderbilt, who wrote this year's reboot, was contracted to write the sequel. However, Sony has also contracted Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) and Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Lost) to rewrite Vanderbilt's draft. Filming has supposedly begun this month in London. Casting J. K. Simmons has expressed interest in reprising his role as J. Jonah Jameson from the Sam Raimi trilogy. Like there's anyone else who can play that role perfectly. Shailene Woodley (Amy in The Secret Life of an American Teenager, Alexandra in The Descendants) will play Mary Jane Watson, but in a very small role before getting more screen time on the third film. At least it's not Kirsten Dunst anymore. Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained) has been confirmed to play the villain Max Dillon/Electro. Dane DeHaan (Jesse in In Treatment, Andrew in Chronicle) was confirmed by Webb to play Harry Osborn. No word on Norman Osborn and whether or not Willem Dafoe will reprise his role from the Sam Raimi trilogy. According to Webb, Martin Sheen will reprise his role as Ben Parker - most likely in flashback scenes. Denis Leary had joked in one of the Blu-ray documentaries about making a petition to return in the sequel as Capt. George Stacy. More news to come in the next few months. 11. So we've talked about the best of 2012. How about the worst of 2012? Personally, The Bourne Legacy was the only bad movie I saw this year.
  12. 2012 was a great year for movies, as we got The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, Ted, Wreck-It Ralph and Looper.
  13. Wow... I always knew Mike had a peculiar taste in music, but damn. Now back to some real music.
