  1. People are being too critical about this movie. They should know very well that it's a typical Schwarzenegger film, where you simply check your brain at the door and enjoy all the action and one-liners - regardless of how bad the script is. The Last Stand obviously isn't True Lies material, but I expect it to be at least as entertaining as Eraser. Even some renowned critics love the film. Richard Roeper gave it 3 out of 4 stars on his review and said: "If you've got violent-movie fatigue, and you're too exhausted from real-life carnage on the news to enjoy an R-rated blood-fest in which a number of kills are executed as deliberately funny visual punchlines, you do not want to go anywhere near this film. But if you're a fan of stylish, relentlessly loud shootouts, questionable plot developments be damned, this is your ticket to weekend escapism." As for the movie flopping at the box office, it just opened at a rather bad time when international markets are flooded with moviegoers wanting to see Les Misérables while Zero Dark Thirty is still dominating the U.S. box office. Once the ticket sales of those two movies begin to die down, The Last Stand will at least have a chance to break even with its US$45 million budget.
  2. Coming on August 22, 2014 is Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the sequel to the acclaimed 2005 film Sin City. Robert Rodriguez (Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Planet Terror) and creator Frank Miller (300, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) return to the director's chair with William Monahan (The Departed, Body of Lies) as the co-writer. The film covers the second book of the Sin City graphic novel series and introduces two new story arcs. The following cast members are scheduled to reprise their roles from the first film: Jessica Alba (like nobody here knows who she is...) as Nancy Callahan Powers Booth (Curly Bill in Tombstone, World Security Council member in The Avengers) as Senator Roark Rosario Dawson (Abernathy in Death Proof, Becky in Clerks II) as Gail Jaime King (Lorelei in The Spirit) as Goldie and Wendy Clive Owen (Theo in Children of Men, The Professor in The Bourne Identity) as Dwight McCarthy (post-facial construction) Mickey Rourke (Ivan Vanko/Whiplash in Iron Man 2, Ram in The Wrestler) as Marv Bruce Willis (like nobody here knows him by now...) as John Hartigan Here are the new cast members: Eva Green (Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale, Artemisia in 300: Rise of an Empire) as Ava Lord Josh Brolin (Brand in The Goonies, young Agent K in Men in Black 3) as Dwight McCarthy (pre-facial construction) Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, Joe in Looper) as Johnny Julia Garner as Marcy Ray Liotta (Tommy Vercetti in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) as Joey Canelli Stacy Keach (Mike Hammer, Beaumont in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm) as Wallenquist Christopher Meloni (Col. Hardy in Man of Steel) as Mort Juno Temple (Jen in The Dark Knight Rises) as Sally Billy Blair (Billy in Machete and Machete Kills) as Louie Crystal McCahill (May 2009 Playboy Playmate of the Month) Lady Gaga (some overrated pop singer) In addition, there are a few casting changes: Jamie Chung (Amber in Sucker Punch, Chi Chi in Dragonball Evolution) takes over the role of Miho, as Devon Aoki (Kasumi in DOA: Dead or Alive, Suki in 2 Fast 2 Furious) is pregnant. Dennis Haysbert (Allstate Insurance spokesman, David Palmer in 24) replaces the late Michael Clarke Duncan (1957-2012) (John Coffey in The Green Mile, Atlas in God of War II) in the role of Manute. Jeremy Piven (Smokin' Aces) replaces Michael Madsen (Budd in Kill Bill Vols. 1-2, Phelps in WarGames) as Bob. No reason was given for the casting replacement. It is currently unknown who will replace the late Brittany Murphy (1977-2009) (Tai in Clueless, Luanne in King of the Hill) in the role of Shellie. So far, the film has neither an official site nor a teaser trailer, but stay tuned. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For @ IMDb

  7. And while everyone's talking about the C7, Motor Trend put the outgoing C6 ZR1 against the new Viper and discovered virtually no difference.
  8. In one of the most shocking upsets in Golden Globe Awards history, Argo defeated Lincoln in the categories of "Best Motion Picture - Drama" and "Best Director - Motion Picture." Also, since the Django Unchained thread has been locked up, I'll just announce here that Christophe Waltz took home the "Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role" award. 2013 Golden Globe Awards Winners
  9. Can't believe it's been over a month since I posted an episode review. Here's the most recent episode: Episode 17: "Another Wizard" (もう一人の魔法使い) Introducing: Tasuku Nagase as Kosuke Nito/Kamen Rider Beast Wiseman sends the Phantom Manticore to hunt down a lone backpacker. But when Haruto interferes, he gets stung by the Phantom's venomous tail and is sent on the verge of death. It's that time of the show where we're introduced to the second Kamen Rider of the series. Kosuke Nito is a backpacker who prefers to put mayonnaise on any meal, but as Kamen Rider Beast, he gives the series the pace it needs after a month's worth of fillers. His suit looks impressive and his powers are equally awesome. And right after saving the day, he arrogantly labels Haruto as his rival before flying off. These next few episodes will be interesting for both Riders. Next time, on Kamen Rider Wizard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RO9w-BG-LQ Episode 18: "Wizardry Eating" (魔力が食事) Can these two Riders get along with each other?

  12. Bad or not, I'm still watching this. I hope the Blu-ray version will have the deleted theater shooting scene so we can see if the deletion really made an impact to the final product.
  13. Sorry, but I don't see the whole point of quoting an entire post just to write 2-3 sentences about just a small section of the article. How long does it take to just snip out the whole quoted article just to keep the section being focused on?
