The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread 2
areaseven replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Earlier tonight on The John Cena Show in London: - HHH accepted Lesnar's challenge at Extreme Rules by giving Heyman a Pedigree. Yawn. - Must really suck to be Antonio Cesaro, as he's been relegated to jobber status after losing the U.S. Championship last week. Shame that WWE doesn't know how to market him. - Even worse on that position is Y2J, who lost to Dolph Ziggler after Faaan... daaaannn... goooooooooo...'s music played during their match. - Looks like we should keep an eye out on Big E Langston. Just like Lesnar 10 years ago, this powerhouse has a lot of star potential. - The Shield remain undefeated, having conquered The Undertaker and Team Hell No. - Faaan... daaaannn... goooooooooo... humiliated William Regal, but Y2J got the last laugh backstage. - What exactly is the motivation behind the Cena/Ryback feud?- 715 replies

Something is wrong at the SyFy channel

Word is out that Syfy is proud of the 2.7 viewership rating that Defiance generated on its premiere. But will it be more consistent than Syfy's current breadwinner, WWE SmackDown? -

On this week's episode of Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 2: "Chinese Delusion" (妄想中華) Introducing: Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta and Gogeta in Dragon Ball Z, Kou Uraki in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083) as General Two Just after discovering that the Akibarangers are now an official Super Sentai, Akagi encounters a new Chief Clerk with the ability to alter time and form with a remote control. As he fends for his life, Akagi discovers what really happened to the Dairangers. Now that this continuity has been set up, it's time to figure out what's going on here. We're introduced to the season's main villain General Two, whose knowledge of Super Sentai completely rivals that of Akagi. We also meet the new Akiba Blue in the form of Luna Iwashimizu, an aspiring actress who is a fan of Gosei Sentai Akibaranger when it supposedly came out on the Toei Channel. And Yumeria-chan is back. As always, the Akibarangers defeat this week's monster, but realize that their win does not reverse the continuity screw-up that replaced Dairanger with Akibaranger. Instead, the Akibarangers encounter a pissed-off Kiba Ranger. Next time, on Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 3: "Martial Arts Delusion" (妄想拳劇) The Akibarangers have one more shot at bringing the Dairangers back into continuity. Good boys and girls shouldn't watch.

Over the weekend, I was in Singapore, and I visited Universal Studios to try Transformers: The Ride. The critics were spot-on when they said this is one of the best movie rides ever designed. It's even better than the actual movies. Unfortunately, due to strict rules, I was unable to film the actual ride. Besides, it wouldn't be really fun to do so, anyway.- 16676 replies

areaseven replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Earlier tonight on The John Cena Show: - The drama continues between Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show as the crowd continues to show no interest. - Brock Lesnar issued yet another rematch with Triple H; this time, in a steel cage at Extreme Rules. Yawn. - Finally, some movement within the other title belts: Kofi Kingston def. Antonio Cesaro for the U.S. Championship. - Faaan... daaaannn... goooooooooo... continues to enjoy his sudden surge in popularity, as his entrance theme reached the top 20 in the UK iTunes charts while it's rapidly becoming an Internet meme in the U.S. - One week after Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank to become the new World Champion, Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger continue to feud, but with Ziggler just stuck in the middle. - In a stunning turn of events since losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, CM Punk walked out of the ring during a speech. - Another beatdown on Cena, by The Shield. Still won't get him over with the fans at all.- 715 replies

Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2 (非公認戦隊アキバレンジャー シーズン痛(ツー)) TV Asahi/Tokyo MX/Toei Company, 2013 Like Saban would actually use this series for Power Rangers... Directed by Ryuta Tasaki (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Kamen Rider 555) and Nobuhiro Suzumura (Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, Kamen Rider Ryuki) Written by Naruhisa Arakawa (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Steel Angel Kurumi) Music by Kenji Kawai (Mobile Police Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell) Running Time: 25 minutes per episode Not Rated (Suggested TV-14). Contains sci-fi violence, partial nudity and mild language. "重妄想!" "Jumoso!" ("Grand Delusion!") Cast Masato Wada (Kintaro in The Prince of Tennis live-action film) as Nobuo Akagi/Akiba Red Kyoko Hinami as Mitsuki Aoyagi/former Akiba Blue Shione Sawada as Luna Iwashimizu/new Akiba Blue Karin Ogino as Yumeria Moegi/Akiba Yellow Maaya Uchida as Hiroyo Hakase Kozue Aikawa (of the dance group Danceroid) as KozuKozu Mita Honoka (former AV Idol) as ©Na (pronounced "Maru-C Na") Hiroaki Hirata (Kaburagi/Wild Tiger in Tiger & Bunny, Machalcon in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) as Delu Knight (voice) Yuki Ueda as Tazuko "痛さは強さ! 非公認戦隊アキバレンジャー!" "Itasa wa Tsuyosa! Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger!" ("Pain Is Power! Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger!") Episode 1: "Delusional War" (妄想大戦) Nine months have passed since the final battle between the Akibarangers and the Stema Otsu Corporation. Aside from Akagi still working as a delivery boy and Hakase still running the cash-strapped Sentai Cafe Himitsukichi, The other Akibarangers have moved on with their lives. But after experiencing a weird dream about their final battle, Akagi discovers something wrong with the timeline when the Akibarangers are actually not only an official Super Sentai, but the 17th in the franchise (somehow bumping Gosei Sentai Dairanger out of the continuity). Lowdown By popular demand, the Akibarangers are back. But given the mess caused by Saburo Hatte on the last four episodes, how does one start the new season? With another recap, of course! Well, that doesn't sound encouraging, but it actually sets up Season 2 well by rewriting the core plot from episode 4 onwards as if the whole fourth wall mess of the latter half of Season 1 never happened. In this rewrite, Delu Knight is introduced early without any reference to Doctor Z. In addition, it's Mitsuki-chan, not Akagi, who gets recruited to the Pentagon (which explains why Kyoko Hinami won't be in this show after this episode). And what a way to sell the S.H. Figuarts toys - by directly using them in the action sequences! So yeah, many things don't make sense on this episode, but because it's Akibaranger, it's not supposed to. Let's see how they'll introduce the new Akiba Blue in the next episode. Rating: B+ Next time, on Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 2: "Chinese Delusion" (妄想中華) Someone got a lot of explaining to do. Good boys and girls shouldn't watch. http://garo-project.jp/TV3/'>Garo: Yami wo Terasu Mono (牙狼〈GARO〉~闇を照らす者~) (Garo: The One Who Shines Light in the Darkness) TV Tokyo/Project Garo/Sansei R&D/Tohokushinsha Film/Pony Canyon, 2013 Won't find this Stateside anytime soon... Directd by Makoto Yokoyama Based upon characters created by Keita Amemiya (Onimusha 2-3, Kamen Rider ZO) Running Time: 25 minutes per episode Not Rated (Suggested TV-MA). Contains graphic violence, nudity and strong language. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9faZ2xdHIs Cast Wataru Kuriyama as Ryuga Dougai/Garo the Golden Knight Hironobu Kageyama (veteran anime and tokusatsu singer) as Madou Ring Zaruba (voice) Tsunenori Aoki as Aguri Kusugami/Gai the Sky Bow Knight Junya Ikeda (Gai Ikari/Gokai Silver in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) as Takeru Jakuzure/Zen the Flame Sword Knight Kohei Otomo as Makai Priest Burai Miki Nanri as Makai Priestess Rian Hiroko Sato (Ai Yashiro in Kamen Rider Decade) as SG1 Commander Enhou Episode 1: Ryuga (流) Several years into the future, Ryuga Dougai is the latest Makai Knight to inherit the title of Garo the Golden Knight. He travels to the somewhat peaceful town of Vol City to investigate a string of Horror appearances, but upon defeating one, he encounters a couple of other Makai Knights led by Makai Priest Burai, who feel he is not worthy of his title. At the same time, he is hunted down by a paramilitary organization called "SG1" due to his occupation. Lowdown The third season of the Garo series is a major departure from what we've been used to over the past eight years. For this story, we move from present-day Japan to a dystopian future, where the city seems to be controlled by a secret mastermind. We're also introduced to a whole new cast of characters led by Ryuga. In contrast to the quiet and antisocial Kouga Saejima of the original series, Ryuga wears all black and is a bit of a loudmouth, yet he is surprisingly friendly for a Makai Knight. In addition, he invites a heap of trouble by fighting the first Horror in public (which is usually a major no-no in shows like this). There's not much to focus on in this pilot episode, as the overall plot hasn't been fleshed out and the core characters show up with very little interaction with each other. Plus, compared to the past Garo titles, the martial arts choreography is unbelievably lacking, especially when Ryuga fends off against the SG1 operatives. Also, the Garo armor only appears for not even 30 seconds. So yeah, this first episode feels extremely rushed, but hopefully, things pick up on the next episode. Earlier tonight on The John Cena Show: - Basically, anyone that didn't have a match at WrestleMania 29 showed up tonight to make up for lost time. - Undertaker paid tribute to Paul Bearer, but was interrupted by The Shield. Team Hell No ran in to even the odds. - Y2J got his revenge on Faaan... daaaannn... goooooooooo... by trapping him in the Walls of Jericho before the rookie's match against Kofi Kingston. - Here's a shocker: Ryback turned heel and Shell Shocked Cena. - Just one day after winning it at the WrestleMania pre-show, The Miz, lost the Intercontinental title to Wade Barrett. What a waste. - Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Alberto Del Rio to become the new World Champion. Why couldn't he do that at WrestleMania? At least we won't see that stupid spinner belt anymore. The WWE Title Gets a John Cena Transformation- 715 replies
