  3. Riddick is the third theatrical installment in The Chronicles of Riddick saga, following the 2000 sleeper hit Pitch Black and the 2004 flop The Chronicles of Riddick. As with the first two films, David Twohy will return to the director's chair for this film while Vin Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Richard B. Riddick. Karl Urban (Dredd, McCoy in the current Star Trek film series) will also reprise his role as Lord Vaako from the 2004 film. Joining the cast are Matthew Nable (Australian rugby player), Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica, Dana Walsh in 24), and former WWE Champion Dave Batista (Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy). Riddick is set for a September 6 release. Official Site
  4. A sequel is in the works. According to director Timo Vuorensola, Iron Sky: The Coming Race is intended to be fan-funded with no corporate restrictions. The targeted budget is US$15 million, but the first phase of the funding is set to US$150,000. Click on the link below to pitch in. Iron Sky: The Coming Race @ indiegogo
  5. Stalingrad is an upcoming 3D war epic based on the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942. The film is directed by Fedor Bondarchuk, who received an Oscar nomination for his 2006 film The 9th Company (which was based on the Soviet War in Afghanistan). Hopefully, it's much better than that snooze-fest known as Enemy at the Gates. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Da3EgZUA0Y Stalingrad @ IMDb
  6. From Blue Sky Studios, the animation company behind Ice Age, Robots and Rio, comes Epic. Based on the children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, Epic features the voices of Amanda Seyfried (Cosette in Les Misérables), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta in The Hunger Games), Colin Farrell (Alexander, Bullseye in Daredevil), Beyoncé Knowles (Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in Goldmember), Christoph Waltz (Col. The film is directed by Chris Wedge (Ice Age, Robots) with music by Danny Elfman (Real Steel, Silver Linings Playbook). Epic hits theaters on May 24. Official Website
  7. You know, Into Darkness is not as good as the previous Star Trek film, but it's one hell of a ride. Without giving away a lot of spoilers, I have to say that pays a lot of homages to a certain TOS episode and a certain TOS movie. And as expected with a Jim Abrams production, it's got balls-out action and a loud orchestral score to go with it. Excellent performance by Benedict Cumberbatch, as he delivered beyond the monologues he gave on the trailers. It's also great to see the great Frank Murphy back in the big screen. Also, Alice Eve is hot.
  8. Once again, TNA's booking at its finest.
  9. On this episode of Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 5: "Delusional Import" (妄想輸入) Special Guest: Sakina Kuwae (Natsume Masaki in Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger) as Akina Maihama The Akibarangers attempt to pursuade Luna into staying with the team by convincing her that it will boost her career as an idol. However, they must prevent her from winning an audition for an upcoming American blockbuster. Meanwhile, Akagi and Yuko are shocked when they discover that the Super Sentai continuity has been altered once again - this time, having the series originate in America as "Powerful Rangers". Oh boy, here we go again with Super Sentai history being rewritten, except that this episode parodies the American side of the franchise. And this is a rather patriotic one, as Akagi and Yuko-chan show their pride in Super Sentai being made in Japan while being beaten up by the Americanized Zyurangers. Nice to see the Zyusouken (Dragon Dagger for you Power Ranger fans) being used after so many years. Luna-chan is just so kawaii. And so is her new rival Akina-chan. Next time, on Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 6: "Delusional Niangniang" (妄想娘娘(ニャンニャン)) It's Sentai vs. Anime! Good boys and girls shouldn't watch.
  10. So this is what you get when you mix Men in Black with Ghostbusters. R.I.P.D. is a 3D supernatural action film based on the Dark Horse Comics series Rest in Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov (Demoliton Man, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever). The film is directed by Robert Schwentke (Red, Flightplan) and stars Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker. R.I.P.D. hits theaters on July 19. R.I.P.D. @ IMDb
  11. In episode 5 of Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2, a disruption in the continuity causes the Super Sentai Series to actually originate in America with "Powerful Rangers". The upcoming S.H. Figuarts Tyranno Ranger and Dragon Ranger will come with the "American flag" neck and belt parts for Akibaranger fans to re-enact this episode. These parts, however, will not be in the U.S. release. 13. Bandai has officially announced that the Tamashii Web exclusive S.H. Figuarts Kiba Ranger will be released in Japan this September for ¥3,675. The figure will come with Byakkoshinken, his talking sword. And if you follow Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger, Kiba Ranger will also come with an interchangeable Akibaranger chest emblem. But here's the good news for Tommy fans: S.H. Figuarts Kiba Ranger (minus the Akibaranger emblem) will be repackaged for the U.S. market as White Ranger, and will be available this October for US$44.99. S.H. Figuarts Kiba Ranger/White Ranger Official Images
  14. And now for some Power Rangers news: - Power Rangers Super Megaforce is the follow-up season to Power Rangers Megaforce - both of which celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise. It has been confirmed that Super Megaforce will be adapting the suits and mecha of the 2011 Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. - As with Gokaiger, Super Megaforce is slated to feature guest appearances by members of the Power Rangers alumni. Unfortunately, we've only heard rejections from past members. Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos from MMPR Season 2 to Turbo) and Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Yellow Ranger II in MMPR Seasons 2-3) turned down offers to reprise their roles because of the very low salary Saban offered them. At the same time, Rhett Fisher (Ryan Mitchell/Titanium Ranger in Lightspeed Rescue) was excited to receive an invitation by Saban, but was suddenly rejected because Saban simply couldn't afford him. Furthermore, Matt Austin (Bridge Carson/S.P.D. Green/Blue/Red in S.P.D.) claims that none of the alumni from the Disney era (2001-2008) got an invite from Saban. This was proven when Pua Magasiva (Shane Clarke/Red Wind Ranger in Ninja Storm) and Brandon Jay McLaren (Jack Landors/S.P.D. Red Ranger in S.P.D.) tweeted that they never received any invitations. - So far, here are the alumni who have confirmed their guest appearances: * Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver in MMPR / Zeo / Turbo / Dino Thunder) * Selwyn Ward (T. J./Red Turbo Ranger II in Turbo) * Danny Slavin (Leo/Galaxy Red Ranger in Lost Galaxy) * Reggie Rolle (Damon/Galaxy Green Ranger in Lost Galaxy) * Melody Perkins (Karone/Galaxy Pink Ranger II in Lost Galaxy) * Sean Cw Johnson (Carter/Red Lightspeed Ranger in Lightspeed Rescue) * Jason Faunt (Wes Collins/Red Time Ranger in Time Force) * Najee De-Tiege (Kevin/Blue Samurai Ranger in Samurai) * Hector David, Jr. (Mike/Green Samurai Ranger in Samurai) * Brittany Anne Pirtle (Emily/Yellow Samurai Ranger in Samurai)
  15. Thank goodness I have connections with the local board of censors, as I get to watch any movie for free (except at those VIP theaters with the lounge chairs and unlimited popcorn).
  16. On this episode of Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 4: "Delusional Goddess" (妄想女神) Special Guest: Mitsuko Horie (legendary anime singer) as Yasuko Yokoyama Hiroyo tries to get Luna back into the team, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Akiba Red and Akiba Yellow encounter a new monster that warps the reality of the Z-Cune Aoi anime. In effect, this not only ruins Z-Cune Aoi's reputation, it also leaves the Sentai Cafe Himitsukichi in shambles. We've seen the new MMZ-00 Moya Moya Z-Cune. Now we get to see what happens when ©Na-sama uses it. Talk about gratuitous fan service! Apparently, Yumeria-chan is now hitched, and she goes by her married name "Yuko Yokoyama". The downside to getting married to a wealthy family is that she's not supposed to cosplay anymore (at least in front of the family). But in order to help defeat this week's monster, she has to go back to her roots as a yaoi manga artist. The result is a new power-up for Akiba Red in the form of armor that resembles Aoi-tan embracing him. Now this is going beyond bizarre. Next time, on Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2: Episode 5: "Delusional Import" (妄想輸入) It's Morphin' Time! Good boys and girls shouldn't watch.
  17. It's a sad day in the music world today, as Slayer guitarist and co-founder Jeff Hanneman died at age 49. In 2011, Hanneman contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease, after reportedly been bitten by a spider. Though he had been recovering from the disease, he suddenly died of liver failure. It is unknown if the skin disease had attributed to his death. R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman. Jeff Hanneman (1964-2013)
  18. Here are some new additions to my collection: N-Strike Elite Pinpoint Sight - I actually got this as a freebie when I picked up my Stockade at Toys "R" Us last year. It looks great on my Stockade and Stryfe. N-Strike Elite Rampage - My old man got me this "Special Value Pack" edition for Christmas. It comes with extra darts and an 18-dart clip. My half-brother also got me an Elite Bandolier Kit as well. I'll do a comparison with my old Raider CS-35 soon. N-Strike Elite Stryfe - This is my new favorite Nerf pistol, as it's easier to wield than the Barricade/Stockade while still using the dual flywheel system. And it looks badass in any combination.
