  1. Saw it last night. Basically, it's Die Hard with zombies, as Brad Pitt is this indestructible hero that survives multiple zombie raids and a plane crash throughout the movie. Yes, the plot feels rushed, but the point of the film is to put the viewer in the middle of the mayhem. My biggest gripe is the camerawork, which appears to have been done literally by zombies. Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland are still the two best zombie movies over the past decade, but World War Z comes pretty close. It's everything the Resident Evil movies should've been.

  4. Latest rumor on this movie has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson penned as the new villainous Terminator. The story will supposedly take place in the 1950s, where the Terminator is sent to kill Sarah Connor's parents. In addition, Ah-nuld will return, but as a human character. 6. The Lego Movie is an upcoming 3D animated film directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) and Chris McKay (Robot Chicken), and will be the first full-length movie based on the bestselling Lego toy line. The film features the voices of Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, Andy in Parks and Recreation), Elizabeth Banks (Betty Brant in Spider-Man 1-3, Effie in The Hunger Games), Alison Brie (Trudy in Mad Men), Nick Offerman (Ron in Parks and Recreation), Charlie Day (Newt in Pacific Rim, Charlie in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Will Ferrell (like no one here knows him...), Liam Neeson (as if no one's heard of him...), Morgan Freeman (again, like no one's familiar with him), and Will Arnett (G.O.B. in Arrested Development, Devon in 30 Rock) as Batman. The Lego Movie hits theaters on February 7, 2014. Official Site
  7. As I mentioned on my small review a few pages back, Michael Shannon's portrayal of General Zod was all about brute force. All he wanted was the complete dominance of the Kryptonian race at the absolute cost of everyone else. In addition, he just didn't have any memorable lines other than "I will find him!". Thus, we end up with a lackluster villain. If you look back at Superman I-II, Terence Stamp nailed the role perfectly with just pure arrogance and charisma. Why resort to complete annihilation when you can simply rule the human population and play mind games with Supes while you're at it? And aside from his iconic, "Kneel before Zod!" catchphrase, his lines were perfectly written - regardless of which version of Superman II you prefer. And this is why Stamp's portrayal of General Zod is one of the greatest movie villains of all-time.

As of right now, it's dropped to 62% on Rotten Tomatoes - just three points shy of falling off the "fresh" level. In comparison, Superman Returns is at 75%.
