  1. Saw it for a second time today; this time, at a brand-new Dolby Atmos™ theater. I could care less if it wasn't presented in 3D, but the sound design is phenomenal. Each sound element is meticulously played in the proper speaker, from each raindrop to every servo on Gipsy Danger. Screw 3D - Dolby Atmos™ is the way to go. And the Academy Awards can go to hell if this movie doesn't get Oscar nominations for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Design.
  2. This Just In: Sam Mendes will return to the director's chair for Bond 24, which has been slated for a 2015 release (October 23 in the UK and November 6 in the U.S.). John Logan (The Time Machine, Star Trek: Nemesis), who co-wrote Skyfall, will also return to pen the new screenplay. 3. Ramin Djawadi's soundtrack score is very reminiscent of his work in Iron Man while incorporating that Inception sound effect made famous by Hans Zimmer.
  4. So a kaiju takes a dump on Manila. Doesn't make the current landscape any more different. Netizens on Pacific Rim Photo: Why Dirty Manila?
  5. I said it a long time ago, and I'll say it again: Tatsunoko died when Tatsuo Yoshida died. So anything the other Yoshida brothers (Kenji Yoshida and Ippei Kuri) did after 1977 has no soul.
  6. So far, so good. Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 81% "In most ways, this paradoxically derivative yet imaginative sci-fi epic is everything every monster movie since the beginning of time might have wished it could be: In no way pinched budget-wise, it's got first-class special effects, crafty behemoths that calculate and react to circumstances in non-dumb ways, a smart director who injects a sense of fun and surprise whenever he can, a fair percentage of characters you don't mind watching, and a few decent plot twists. In this genre, that's saying something." - Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter "... just the kind of big-ticket sci-fi adventure you’d want del Toro to make -- provided you’d want him to make one at all." - Stephanie Zacharek, The Village Voice "... a crushed-metal orgy that plays like an extended 3D episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on very expensive acid." - Justin Chang, Variety
  7. S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mk. VI (アイアンマン マーク6) Bandai, 2013 Made in China Contents Iron Man Mk. VI figure Open hands x 2 Repulsor hands x 2 Repulsor peg hands x 2 Back armor flaps x 2 Leg armor flaps x 2 Repulsor hand effects (small) x 2 Repulsor hand effects (large) x 2 Repulsor foot effects x 2 Iron Man Mk. VI is Bandai's first stab at competing with Kaiyodo's Revoltech line on Marvel action figures. Compared to other incarnations of Mk. VI of this size, this version boasts over 45 points of articulation, resulting in a wide range of poseability that surpasses the Revoltech version. Unlike other figures, which have the chest painted in white or bluish white, the Figuarts' chest features a clear plastic window that reveals an intricately sculpted Arc Reactor underneath. The figure even rivals the larger, more expensive Hot Toys versions with its shiny metallic paint finish. Accessories are very minimal, as the figure comes with the usual array of hands plus some armor pieces and effects parts. The armor plates on the back and behind the legs can be swapped with open flaps to give the effect of mid-air braking or high-speed maneuvering. When swapping the hands, don't forget to place the flaps behind the hands. The effects parts can be attached on the feet and the Repulsor peg hands to give the effect of flight or Repulsor blast attacks. Overall, the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mk. VI is, bar none, the best Iron Man figure in the 6" class. If you can't afford the Hot Toys versions, this is the next best thing. Detail: A+ Features: B+ Articulation: A
