  1. In 1994, Disney released Gargoyles, proving that they can make a serious action cartoon and go head-to-head with Batman: The Animated Series. Gargoyles is known not only for its darker tone, complex story arcs and Shakespearean themes, but also for the people behind the voices such as Keith David (Childs in The Thing, Armitage in They Live), Ed Asner (Carl in Up), Michael Dorn (Mr. Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi in Star Trek: TNG), Jonathan Frakes (Riker in Star Trek: TNG), John Rhys-Davies (Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), and Richard Grieco (Dennis Booker in 21 Jump Street and Booker), just to name a few. The series lasted for three seasons and 78 episodes before going off the air in 1997. But for those who miss the adventures of the Manhattan clan, there's good news: Disney has the entire series available on their YouTube channel (may not be available outside the U.S.). "We are defenders of the night. We are Gargoyles!" News Flash: Gargoyles Is Streaming on YouTube Direct YouTube Playlist Links: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3
  2. Coming soon from the studio behind Super Power Beat Down: A look at Jason David Frank's career as the most iconic Power Ranger character.
  3. A lot of the cameos in the series just look like characters from past series, but with differences like hair color and gender to make viewers look twice. Like a couple of episodes ago, when one of the female Gunpla Fighters cosplayed as Heero Yuy of Gundam Wing. She had blonde hair, but the green tank top and brown shorts were dead giveaways.
  4. Yup, January is the month for bad movies. Not worth (tor)renting at all. Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 5% - "Loud, incoherent, and dramatically listless, I, Frankenstein is a remarkably dull fantasy adventure that fails to generate much excitement or interest in its characters." Metacritic Score: 29 out of 100
  5. It's unfortunate how HG treats its fanbase, especially those who spend their hard-earned money in making their own fanfilms. Oh well - there's always Robotech: Astro Plan.

  7. Regardless of what the comic purists think of Anna Paquin's portrayal of Rogue, it was a waste to just ditch her DOFP footage. Take into consideration that she's a past Oscar winner (Best Supporting Actress in The Piano, at age 11) and she participated in last year's Comic-Con to promote the film. All of that, for nothing. But as Bryan Singer mentioned, that footage will be on the Blu-ray/DVD bonus features. Maybe even on a Director's Cut edition.
  8. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. D-Generation X proudly brings to you... its six-time WWE... TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WOOOOOOOOOORRRRRLLLLLDDDDD!!! The Road Dogg Jesse James! The Bad Ass Billy Gunn! THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS!!!" "And if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you..."
  9. I'm surprised no one here caught this - Rogue has been cut from the film. “Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.” - Bryan Singer
  10. Finally got to watch this film tonight. I forgot exactly which critic said it, but Kick-Ass 2 is a victim of its own formula. Sure, there are a lot of funny lines, but somewhere halfway, the concept loses its meaning and ends up becoming a generic revenge movie that tries to throw in every superhero trope. It's not a bad movie at all; just a disappointment coming from the first. May take me a while to accept it as a guilty pleasure.
  11. If I recall, the U.S. market received a lot of MSIAs that either never saw a Japanese release or came in much later. I had the Deluxe Albion Playset, and it was pretty sweet once I panel lined it. I also hooked up MilkManX with the MSIA Re-GZ & Back Weapon System Set, which I think didn't hit Japan until several months later.
  12. What's with the price gouging? Transforming Wing Gundam = US$199.99 (at least US$170.00 over its original price) Deluxe Transforming Gundam GP01-Fb =US$92.99 (at least US$68.00 over its original price) Deluxe Transforming Gundam GP02A = US$124.99 (at least US$100.00 over its original price)
  13. Like VHD said, "transforming" was Bandai's attempt at luring TF fans into buying the Gundam toys. To them, the GP01-Fb's Core Block System and the GP02A's movable shoulder binders were transformation gimmicks. The GP02A looked really good, but no shoulder articulation was a big minus. The GP01-Fb looked fat in the box, but some panel lining somehow corrected the proportions.
