If You Had A Say, What Mecha Franchise Would
Briareos replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
How can I not add another vote for Appleseed landmates? Mospeda and Patlabor of course. I do have a few other fantasy toys in mind though.. I wouldn't mind seeing a revamped Orguss. The originals are great.. but so hard and expensive to aquire! A playable Led Mirage with Boomerang Unit or Flame Unit http://www.hlj.com/product/WAVFS-80 A playable Robocop2's Cain Out of topic but I wish they made the mech of Starcraft. -
Anyone stay for the end credit clip? 415124[/snapback] Sure did! Mainly because the first movie had a end credit clip too which explains why the monkey is still undead in this movie. BTW anyone play Monkey Island? For some reason I got the sense I was watching a live action version of it.

Out of all of Kawamori-san's designs, the SV-51 should have the one of the most perfect transformations. He first designed the mech with lego which could transform to all three modes. Then he overlapped his pencil drawings designs over a camera picture of the lego model keeping all proportions the same. I believe he did this process for the Monster as well. Anyways the whole process could be seen on his second Designworks book. Yamato shouldn't have too much of a problem except perhaps the way the nose cone bends back for the groin part and nearly dissapears. That and perhaps trying to make sure the toy is structually stable, articulated, and playable. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=10343

Can you elaborate on this? Not sure what you mean by this.

I believe the next movie will involve the villan, Brainiac. Spoiler Warning. Brainiac in some versions of Superman (particuarly the animation Superman) is a Kryptonian supercomputer gone bad. It decided that it needed to collected all knowledge of a planet and then destroy it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainiac_%28comics%29 So here's my theory as to why we'll probably see Brainiac. They never resolved what happened to the six crystals of Kryptonian technology that went into outer space. The crystal was a form of supercomputer for Superman. One of them was corrupted in a way by Luthor when it was surrounded with green kryptonite. The Kryptonite land mass was still growing in the air despite having no source of water. A lot of speculation, I know, but it could happen.

Hmnn.. It'll be nice if someone made a checklist of all Yamato Macross items out of this. It might just become useful for Lord Kungfu as he goes through his massive inventory. Also can you make the list more inclusive. Missing are the VB-6 Monster, VF-0, Queadluun-Rau, and the stand.

There is a possiblity that the wide fuselage is meant to accomindate a larger cockpit. If they can pull off the the 360 degree cockpit with rotating seat, I wouldn't mind it. Still I also agree that the gun, canard wings and leg fins are too small. They can easily be enlarged without hurting the tranformation or the dimensions of the other modes. Is it just me or does the battloid mode look as if it's been kicked in the groin with his feet still planted, as in the cartoons? Here's my crappy photoshop work

I'd much perfer this over the D stance. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...-may-page-6.jpg

The weekend isnt over to say that just yet. Also I think the film release planning was poor. The date falls on finals week for most schools.

It's an internet cafe in South Korea, not Hong Kong. Source It was a topic that was covered in this thread Please do some background checking first before posting something like this. Some people are touchy about this subject.

Pepsi probably saw an Optimus Prime toy towing bottles of Coke and had to get in on the action.
-
Really? I can't find it now but I swore there was some guy who claimed to have an uncensored version of the box set.
-
Only the one that just came out a week ago. (The box covered with green simulated frog fur) There are affidavits of different versions on Amazon's customer reviews if you don't believe me. Once I found out I also checked my dvds. Indeed the skits and songs were missing. Click on View all customer reviews

No, there is no visible difference on the box. They really should put a sticker on it saying edited or something. You can get lucky I suppose or go hunting for the first generation on eBay. As far as what's missing on the DVD: There are 6 songs & 2 news skits that are missing. The missing songs are: "Stormy Weather" (Joel Grey Episode) Sung by Wayne and Wanda "Gone With The Wind" (Jim Nabors Episode) Sung by Jim Nabors "The Danceros" (Jim Nabors Episode) Sung by The Danceros; also cut backstage and intro "All Of Me" (Paul Williams Episode) Sung by Two Monsters; also cut intro "Old Fashioned Way" (Charles Aznavour) Sung by Charles Aznavour with Mildred; also cut intro "You've Got A Friend" (Vincent Price Episode) Sung by Vincent Price, Uncle Deadly and a chorus of Muppet Monsters; also cut intro Also, the original pitch reel is missing in a final scene with Kermit. Kermit is standing infront of a CBS logo. He looks out and says " What the hell was that ? "

I finally scrounged up the money for this DVD box set. Unfortunately I didn't know there are two versions of this set. The first batch came out with the full content. The second batch are edited with missing skits, songs, etc.. like the Vincent Price episode: "You've Got a Friend". This is cut out due to music copyright issues. So buyer beware.

Did you have to create a new thread just for this? Why not add this post to one of the already existing video game controversy threads.

What Mai is doing is her finishing animation for King of Fighters 2002. Andy Bogard has been edited in.

Christopher Walken Running For President
Briareos replied to Hurin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
We're heading into dangerous territory with this political talk. It's best just talking about Walken and not about left or right sides of the political spectrum or this thread might get locked up. -
Can you please list these movies? All I know of his movies are Shaolin Soccer and Hustle. I'd love to see more of Chow's work.
