Interesting.. Perhaps one can modify SHE's method. Have the top half flip over like the SHE model and have the bottom half slide up.

I came back from camping out the Target in Buffalo, NY being ticket holder number 55 out of 60. The cops and the Ambulances swung by periodically every hour to make sure we weren't dead from wii rage or the freezing cold. At seven, people started scalping their tickets for $75 to $100. Some of them had a heart though. This poor mother who camped out all night being number 61 in line despite us telling her there were only 60 units inside. She insited that there was more. According to her, the online database of Target showed 69 in stock for that store. When they handed out the tickets and she didn't get one she broke out in tears and started to leave. One of the scalpers chased her down and sold his spot for 5 dollars.

It looks like the legs have to be configured for fast packs just like the VF-1 in fighter mode; slightly bent at the hips and knees. Look closely at the hips of the YF-19 in that side shot with fastpacks and you'll see the crack. But then where do the elbows go now that the legs are repositioned? They're no longer in line with that trap hole in the legs. I think this is the first glimpse of the gun positioned on the underside of the fighter. It's perfectly sized for the underside which explains the small size of the gun.

What you're suggesting sounds alot like the Masterpiece boxes. I think those boxes actually added $20 to the overall price. I really like the packing for the Binaltechs.. small, protective, showcaseable and easily stackable. Plus not too much of those annoying twisties.!! I feel I would rather be rid of the damn twisties then wish for peace on Earth. Another great idea is the Sigma Six design. They took the box and turned it into part of the toy's briefcase. For some reason I'm okay with keeping the size as it is. If it was any larger or smaller, it would be harder to stack with the other Yamato boxes i have. Some ideas though.. Imagine if they made the box slightly out of plastic and you could turn it into a hanger for your YF-19. Complete with blow away doors. Or of course make a diorama of the runway with three figurines of Guld, Isamu and Myung. Armaments laid out in a showcase fashion. Drew

Speculaton about the price of (future) 1/60 YF-21
Briareos replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Toys
Pins for the removable limbs would be easily lost. I would think for a locking mechanism that a twist lock would be fine. Ever buy a stack of writable CD's on a spine? The round cover fits on top and you would rotate it a bit to lock it into place. Or perhaps the locking mechanism similar to those child proof caps. -
Looking at the pic that Sevjet just put up.. it does seem that there's a gap above the boob..Perhaps it's supposed to be there.

I still perfer this rendition.. IMHO it captures the battloid better in overall form than the D-Stance. The D-stance has that head hood which sticks out, the intakes on the battloid are too high on the body and it's legs appear much too long and skinny. But it does capture the short body well. In the Yamato 1/72 the front fuselage that became the body was too long. If there were any feasible features.. (Nothing like warping wings or being able to have smoke flare up from behind.) there would be... -The Brain Direct Imaging System (BDI) displayed. A plate cover further behind the pilot in the fighter mode removed reveals the inner working of the the BDI sys. with all its cables and connections heading to the cockpit. There would also be the three camera sensors in front of the cockpit. - A meditating Guld pilot visible from the cockpit bubble. -Removeable plate covers in fighter mode for the rear engine, the missle bay and the head face and cover. -Vectoring Tail fins -Storable Missle bay near the wings -An ingenious way of storing the rear landing gears near the wings. -Detachable Limbs - Being able to fold the wings in its compact flying form...not very difficult -Collapsible twin guns hidden in the fast packs which can open a cover to shoot. - Fast Packs and Fold system. - Satelite wreakage parts to wrap around the battloid mode Anything else? -
It's perfect, I just hope the plane is solid quality control wise. Thanks Graham for the pics! The front part of the cockpit seems to be pushing a separate black piece down so it can open properly. I remember there were 3 features that were still left to be found. With these new revelations did we get all of them? gunpod, head plate cover, movable tail fin.. BTW, good call on the head plate cover. However I wish that the cockpit included the hologram emitter. At least that's what I think it is. It's that green stem protruding behind the pilot on the right side. Here you don't have any... I doubt this is that big of a deal to get worked up over on but I really like the cockpit of the YF-19..

I think that picture came from the thread on Macrossnexus.com. The discussion jumped over there when the site got hacked. Newbb posted this on Sept 6th: <quote> I hope these haven't been posted yet but its new to me. http://www.moeyo.com/2006/09/post_1110.html http://www.moeyo.com/2006/08/post_1001.html </quote> Concerning that stand attachment. I wonder how stable that attachment is. After all it's attached to the cod piece that swings down on top of the landing gear. Other concerns of mine. The trap door on the legs that allow the arms to hide in fighter mode tends to be slightly open in alot of the photos. I hope they fix this. The forward swept wings have small tabs that seem to the main body in fighter mode.. But how do they stay up in gerwalk mode? Drew

Gotta have keep this thread alive! Shouldn't we replace the front page pic of the Rohby Thunderbolt VF-11 with a pic of the YF-19? There seems to be a variation on the underside of the shield. On one pic there's these round like metal discs (magnets?) wrapped in black fastnets. On another, these discs are gone, replaced by a rectangular peg where the gun clips should be if there is any. Am I wrong that there has been an altercation? Which of version are we getting?

AICN is reporting the lead role of Tony Stark aka. Ironman will be played by Robert Downey Jr. IMHO, this is perfect casting. I love all those Toyfare skits of Ironman on the sauce!

We should make this a contest or something. The one who comes closest to guessing the three extra features gets...I dunno.. A free trip for him and his family to Macross-con!! It would have been Macrossworld but I don't know where that's phyically located Here's my entry: Removable section behind the pilot for an extra seat and for a sleeping Yang Newman The extra armaments that blew up the MK II Missles inside the Leg Fast Packs Drew

Forgive me if this hasn't been said before. If one were to look at the underside of the shield there are round metalic plates. It seems to me that these are four magnets, two of them for each arm. If this is true, would this be a problem? The shield should always be associated with the left arm so would magnets on the left side be stronger than the other two magnets for the right arm? I must agree that a magnet in the handle of the gunpod would be nice. You can put a magnet in the hand so that the gun wouldn't fall off or on the arm for fighter mode. For those who didn't visit macrossnexus.com, Graham pointed out hints in a photo that the canopy opens in half. And I'm really curious as how they managed this as the nose of the plane breaks off at the area where the hinge should be if there was one at all. Just curious. After the YF-19 comes out, will we ever see those prototype pics that Graham had all this time? I'd like to see what tortured him for years. Drew

Almost the same picture of the battloid. Same pose and same angle but this time with a shield. There's also a trianglish indentation on the forward swept wings on the gerwalk pictures. Is that the area for the translucent parts I was looking for before?
-
Doh! I typed before I could think. All the CAD/CAM planes before this had transparent wing parts made me think that something was missing with this one when there was none.
-
Yeah, it was obvious that the transformation got in the way but that's an issue that can be worked around i think. Instead of a 90 degree cut of the nose section, some space could have been allocated for the forward canopy hinge. This is just nitpicking I suppose. I'm quite satisfied with the way the toy looks so far. However I would be dissappointed if the inner cockpit is exposed during transformation.
-
It seems that the canopy doesn't split to open as a front and end section like the anime but rather it opens as one piece like the 1/72 version. It's too bad. I rather liked that feature of the cockpit. There aren't any transparent parts for the wingtip landing lights. It looks like they've decided to lower costs and paint them in this time.

It seems that you have missed the new photos of the YF-19 mock ups. Alot can happen within those 50 pages!! Wolfx, can u edit the first post to include all of the photos as of now?

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23918 My hopes were on Crispin Glover. Oh well. Too bad we can't transfuse Mark Hamil's Joker into Heath. Hmnn.. this might work but I can't help but feel we're gonna get all kind of Brook-Bat Mountain Jokes.

Her ankles are the only ones I see so far that have the revoltech joints.

Have You Ever Met A Celebrity Or Famous Person?
Briareos replied to Phalanx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My Brother and I found ourselves next to this guy while shopping for pens in NYC. He had no problems taking a photo with us. Surprisingly and stupidly we forgot to ask for a autograph...in a pen store none the less. Oh, and we bumped into Jason Alexander in a magic shop in Vegas. -
Beautiful! I can't wait for more pictures. But I did notice that the shield and arms are somewhat drooping towards the rear. As I recall the shield is parallel to the leg line art. I hope this is because what we're seeing is a resin mockup. I'm really curious as to how it transforms. It doesn't seem to transform like the 1/72. The upper neck behind the canard wings seems to split in the middle.

If You Had A Say, What Mecha Franchise Would
Briareos replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wouldn't the Dragoon qualify as a mech as well?
