  1. Although I grew up watching The Robotech and built a lot of the old Imai/Arii kits, and fully enjoyed the classic look of the anime battroid back in the day... I guess my tastes have just changed a lot since then and now I really prefer the look of battroids that actually look like they can turn into the fighter version. Prefer the movie style hands over TV style, as well. The Hasegawa battroid works for me. But I'll give these PLAMAX ones a try, too.
  2. HLJ just surprised me with a YF-29 Max. I was just going to buy extras local, but I forgot to cancel my HLJ pre-order.
  3. It's repainted, using stock decals, right? Shouldn't be too tough to copy if one wants. At first I thought it was based on the Hasegawa Moon Shooters kit.
  4. Oh, they can be very big indeed. HLJ got a little impatient with how much I had held in their warehouse. So I had to have a bunch shipped at once. Had a few more 1/48 VFs waiting than I realized...
  5. I concur with @Sanity is Optional and @kajnrig. If your YF-21 isn't already charged with the decals, then it's backorder time. This is the FIRST time I've gotten ANY of these Bandai 1/100 VFs from HLJ, so I guess I should count myself lucky. But I still need to get 2 more elsewhere.
  6. To my utter surprise, I also got notifcation that HLJ has a YF-21 and decals for me.
  7. Does the Bandai VF-1 work with a stand?
  8. Hasegawa hasn't done any transforming kits. All the recent transforming stuff is Bandai or Aoshima.
  9. Never thought of doing a Miria (and Max) armored battroid before, but now it seems like a very interesting idea.
  10. For the Ghost, I'm wondering if a combo pack release with the YF-21 would be most likely. If they were to do the Ghost at all.
  11. Yeah. At least someone's planning one. But I'd still be happy to see Hasegawa do one. I'm very happy about the Wave series of VF-171 kits though. Doesn't seem like Hasegawa is ever going to bother. Hopefully Hasegawa will do at least one new tool this year. And I don't mean more Queadlunn variants.
  12. My 2024 Wishlist (it's long, sorry) 1/72 Super VF-1J Battroid Max 1/72 Queadlunn Max 1/72 VF-27 1/72 YF-29 1/72 YF-30 1/72 YF-19 battroid 1/72 YF-21 battroid 1/72 VF-11 battroid more recolors of 1/72 armored battroid more recolors of 1/48 VF-1 (I'd love it if the Minmay Special came out in 1/48) 1/48 VE-1 1/48 VT-1 1/48 VF-1D Obviously not all in one year. But I'd be happy with any of them.
  13. I don't get it. Is there something about this configuration that blocks the landing gear? I can't imagine they didn't include the sprue that has the landing gear parts.... or would they?
  14. I thought the Bumblebee movie was pretty fun. Not directed by Bay, new more likeable human protagonist, none of the really cringe humor from the Bay movies, and the Transformers designs were more classic and less cluttered. There's a great opening on Cybertron and I wish we could get a whole movie like that part.
  15. I wasn't able to get YF-19, YF-29, or YF-29 max from them. Pre-ordered all 3 as soon as they were added to the site. The only thing I was ever able to get from HLJ was a sheet of the YF-29 max decals. But couldn't get the other 2 decals. All my kits I've bought at various local stores.
  16. No doubt they'll release a Max recolor though? With whatever the appropriate decals are. Waiting on, and expecting, both the Max Queadluun and the Max VF-1J super battroid. Just.... waiting. Sigh.
  17. It does look fantastic, but I have a question: Isn't the canopy framing supposed to be painted black?
  18. Great box, but I'm still waiting for the blue VF-1J super to go with the miria version they released. If they do that and the blue Max queadluun, we'll be good.
  19. They did. Check the photos posted earlier in this thread.
  20. Might be easier to just.... buy the kit with the updated decals. And use the original kit for a custom project.
  21. All I was really getting at is that the big backpack/small legs thing doesn't matter as much if it's a man sized unit. Not as much as if it was a massive destroid. I'm familiar with Ma.K stuff though. Love the one that has P-38 fuselage parts as part of the original build.
  22. Is this build even meant to represent a giant mecha anymore? Looks more like a human in a power armor suit with a bunch of guns strapped on. I have my doubts that it's meant to be a giant destroid anymore.
  23. It's got both EFSF and AEUG markings... aren't they enemies? 😅
  24. Might be an issue with camera angles and lenses and stuff. I think the kit nose looks longer in this image:
