So it's a similar annoying situation as the max/miria 1/72 VF-1 variables from Bandai.
-
I'm assuming that you could build this as a non-armored Nightmare Plus, with ordnance? I'm just wondering why the very first release didn't have the ordnance option. And does anyone remember if they announced a blue version of the Armored? Or would I have to combine a standard blue version and Alto's Armored to get a blue Armored?

Newer Bandai VF-19 kit other than the HG? What's that? Do you mean the old Macross 7 line? I guess it's true they redid the Fire Valkyrie. No new VF-19S sadly. Still... i don't know if the old VF-2SS is bad enough or popular enough for them to think it needs a redo. I'm not even sure it would be improved on. The old kit requires swapping a few pieces, and with the new approach the HGs are using it might need even more parts swapping. I have a lot of fondness for the old kit with its nice box art, and poster on the back of the instruction manual. I don't think HLJ would have trouble selling Bandai VF-1 because its a VF-1, they'd have trouble selling it because it's Bandai. Just like they have trouble getting decent stock for the other HG Macross kits, Gundam stuff, 30mm Armored Core kits, etc. But other company's VF-1 kits (Hasegawa, Wave, Plamax) are easy to get on HLJ.
-
But Bandai already did a 1/100 variable vf-2ss. I doubt they'd do a new one when they can repop the old one. Unless they're done with the line already, I'm hoping for vf-11, vf-25, and vf-31 in the hg parts changers series. Might be avoiding vf-1 because of Wave.

1/72 variable VF-2SS from Bandai or 1/72 fighter and battroid kits from Hasegawa would be awesome. 1/48 VF-2SS fighter from Hasegawa would be a dream. I like the Macross II destroids a lot but unfortunately I suspect we'll never see plastic kits of those. I'm oddly indifferent to VF-2JA, and I just don't dig Metal Siren at all.
-
Time will tell I guess. I'll welcome any new-mould in either 1/48 or 1/72, fighter or battroid. New gerwalks welcome too of course. But YF-21 is near the top of my list for 1/48. Not sure if I want that or 1/48 VE-1/VT-1 more.

The 1/48 YF-19 w/ fast pack is officially out now. Got my private warehouse notice from HLJ.

VF-171EX Armored Nightmare Plus is out. Got my private warehouse notice from HLJ a few days ago.

EDIT: moved to main Hasegawa thread
-
1/48 Dullahans would be great. I feel like it's been a while since they created a new squadron scheme for any of the VFs though.
-
I'd love a 1/48 VF-0, VF-25, or VF-31 series. All can be milked for variants.
-
Sure but.... Hasegawa has had a lotta years in which they could have done a VF-1D battroid. I wish they'd milk the battroids like they milk the fighters...
-
Yes. And a 1/72 VF-1D battroid. They have a 1/72 fighter and even gerwalk, but no battroid.
-
Very nice box art. Maybe we'll get that 1/48 YF-21 someday.
-
I snagged the Bandai 1/72 variable version, but I wouldn't mind a fixed mode Hasegawa or Wave kit. Never mind, I was thinking of YF-25.
-
If there aren't official alternate schemes, Hasegawa has been known to make up decal variants.
-
Now if only someone would do a YF-30.

Wave 1/72 and 1/100 Destroid Kits

Nousjadeul Ger would be nice. And can't forget we'll probably get more VF-0 gerwalk variants. -
I know. I was just listing the ones that wouldn't directly compete if PLAMAX did a new max/miria TV kit. The Miria super is the exception.

Wave 1/72 and 1/100 Destroid Kits

In some ways Hasegawa is the most exciting because you have no idea what they'll do next. They certainly have plenty of gaps in their lineup all over the place, waiting to be filled. Is their next thing a Glaug? A 1/48 VF-1D, VT-1, or VE-1? Is it the Max super battroid that I want? Will they finally do a new fighter mould? VF-25 or VF-31 gerwalks? Who knows!!! 😄 -
True.... but the Max battroid was movie type and the max/miria fighters were from quite a while back.
-
Same. SAAAAAAAME. That's one that would probably prompt me to get extra copies. I'd love to have a whole lineup on display with the VE-1. VE-11, RVF-25, RVF-171, and VF-31E all together.
-
Right, forgot about the movie head being shown. As long as they come with movie hands, I'll be happy. I guess we may still see Max and Miria VF-1J battroids and fighters too.
-
They're teasing me with that Miria super battroid. But still no Max.

Wave 1/72 and 1/100 Destroid Kits
KOG Water Dragon replied to nightmareB4macross's topic in Model kits
1/72 is what I want most, since most of my Macross stuff is 1/72. All I really have in 1/100 is the new Bandai partsformers. If I get the 1/100 destroids, I'd probably get the Wave VF-1s as well. If Wave won't do 1/72 Spartan, a Hasegawa one would be nice.
