  4. wooohoo!!!! Is this battroid a conversion of the fighter kit? Or an upcoming model? Other pics? Please, I'm in need!
  5. Regarding CG, I liked the mecha but strongly disliked the CG characters, since the techniques used only allowed a very small palette of facial expressions and body motion was very inexpressive and artificial. Oshii indeed made a much better job in Innocence, where characters were made out of traditional anime techniques and the background (objects, cars, houses, buildings, etc...) was CG. I found that the story in "Appleseed 2004" was terrible and did not make justice to Shirow Masamune's manga at all. The story in the manga is dense and complex... That of the movie is simplistic... Last, the colors chosen for some landmates and characters were atrocious (the purple hair of Yoshi, Deunan's landmate...). I definitley would have prefered to wait one or two more years and have a movie made by Oshii, even with a few superfluous quotes from Descartes and Spinoza.
  6. "Macross: Do You Remember F***" Sorry guys, I had to let that out... but 'tis true, Kyla Cole has a cute face...
  7. Best trailer up till now!
  8. Hi! Regarding the aerodynamic practicality of Kawamori's mecha designs (in fighter mode of course)... something interesting is happening: a guy is planning to make a radio-controlled, electric-powered YF-19 (that's maybe not for tomorrow since he's already doing a B-1B right now and isn't finished with it and won't be fore some time ): "Fantasy scale" thread on RCgroups For this purpose he has been sent a 3D model of the YF-19 from a MW member Interesting, isn't it?
  9. Great!!! Is this guy doing a video game or an CG anime?
  10. Download doesn't work! Please help I'm in need!
  11. Skypoet everywhere!
  12. ... And it doesn't look like the light on the model actually comes from behind... But it looks good apart from that! Thanks for sharing!
  13. Why call this kit infamous? It rocks!... IMHO it is the best commercially available kit, but... d'uh... I don't have 1000$ to spend on a kit! Who has this anyway? It's wiser to spend that money on a travel abroad, or.... whatever! I wasnt implying that its infamous for being a bad kit. Its infamously known for being impossible to find/get. Last time I checked, no one has this kit. If someone on the board has this kit, they havent said anything yet. Ooooops! Sorry for the misunderstanding! Apologies!

  15. Bah, he's got it coming. Mace Windu represents everything that's wrong with the Jedi in this period in galactic history. Amen to that bsu, the jedi in the prequel movies all deserve to be kicked off. Holier-than-thou people lying their asses off.....we're supposed to admire these guys??? BTW Skypoet - it's a folder with the mp3's inside, no unzipping required Yup, I just noticed that, and I'm listening to the music right now
  16. Well, THANKS!
  17. Eeeeerrrrr.... cureently downloading the torrents,.... but what is the format of the file that I'll get once the download will be over? The file shows no extension!
  18. GREAT!... though... the LV-7 does not appear completely! Only the upper half...
  19. Thanks a lot, Lindem Herz! Any other interesting (unusual) designs in your Kawamori artwork book?
  20. Well If you're ready to invest 40$, now you can get LockOn for 5$ (discount) very easily anywhere (on amazon maybe) and an addon called "Flaming Cliffs" available from www.lockon.ru. The flight models, damage models, avionics are absolutely superb, tanks, combat helos, ships all move and fight each other and there is at least one campaign available for eanch flyable aircraft (su-27, su-33, mig-29A, mig-29S, A-10, Su-25, Su-25T), many training missions (4 times more than in Flanker 2.5 at least)... BUT... this game still lacks immersion! At least I can say that LockOn + Flaming Cliffs is a huge improvement over Flanker 2.5, but in general the immersion factor hasn't evolved... too bad
  21. Our new Andy Warhol? Oh BTW, if you have the patience and the time, I'd like to see other scans of the Kawamori su-27 in all modes... if you have the time... or any scan of whatever you think of nterest in your book about Kawamori's mech designs
  22. NOOOO please more posts of SEIRAN + PICS, PLEAAAASE, we loves it! About the feasability of such a design, where in fact the plane is made of two VF's that detach in flight, well I don't know much about that... That would be called a "parasite design" and that was studied very thoroughly in the fourties and fifties. The idea was to attach a small, short-range fighter (or several of them) onto a bomber. The fighter(s) would separate from the bomber if attacked by enemy fighters. The separation phase was generally successfull, but the docking phase was very often a problem because of the turbulent wake of the bomber, which caused a controllability issue for the parasite... it was very hard for the parasite aircraft to dock onto the "bigger" aircraft! Sometimes a failed approach would result in a crash of the parasite onto the bomber. That happened with the "goblin". Examples of (such) parasite designs: The (US) goblin (fighter) and the B36 (bomber) (cancelled because too dangerous) The (soviet) I-16 (fighter) and the SPB (bomber) (successful I think) Sorry that's all I know...
  23. BTW, if Lindem Herz or anyone else has other sketches of this kind, please share!!!! I'm very curious about Kawamori's attempts to VF-ize real life warplanes
  24. I LOVE it WOOOOOOOWWWWWW! A Su-27 inspired VF!!!!! COOOL! I have been trying to do sketches for a transformable su-27 and this sketch by Kawamori is 10X better than what I've done... We once again recognize the unrivaled master of mecha design here The su-27 is my favorite real-life fighter! I play a su-27 sim for PC very often, don't know if you've ever heard about it, it's called Lock On: Modern Air Combat, and it rocks!!!
  25. Not really animeish (well maybe SOMETIMES)... but they parody the Matrix genre, hollywood cinema and HK cinema IMHO... and some scenes also parody US cartoons.
