from the info at my disposal here a few facts to add to the sith thing. SITH- ancient race of force sensitive beings long extinct by the events of the sith wars. DARK LORD OF THE SITH- a follower of the teachings of the origional sith race which leaned toward what could be called the dark side. DARTH- apprentice directly under the tutelage of a DARK LORD. SITH APPRENTICE- anyone undergoing training using the old SITH ways of teaching but not directly taught by a DARK LORD. in other words a lackey who can be stepped up if the DARTH is killed. only 2 are ever in charge but they can have a legion of followers as long as their abilities arent as refined as the 2. DARK JEDI- a jedi who has turned from the ways he was taught at the academy and embraces SOME of the SITH teachings but does not follow all. so all in all the term sith is more about a group the character is following rather than who that character is. all actual sith in the starwars universe are dead. the people who call themselves sith are actually followers of old traditions and teachings.

i have my table set up in front of my window so when i airbrush i put a box fan in front of the window blowing out. it does a good job of evacuating the overspray.

trying to start a thread on hobby rooms and work spaces and suggestions for arrangement. lets see what ya got. ill put a pic here this weekend after i organize mine.
-
no model builder should be without a hobby room. do you have a garage to clear a corner into and convert into a hobby space? id get buried if i didnt have a hobby room. i need storage space for my 5 1/16 scale tanks and their smaller brothers and all the macross kits my wife is getting me for christmas.

mechleader good attempt at getting things back on track. i think ewans beard was shaved on the sides instead of going all the way to his ears thus giving his chin a longer look. also lucasfilm does edit alot of its pics it posts at starwars.com. i cant wait to see this flick. even with all the conjecture about who is a better actor than who i still think the wrap up to the vader beginnings will be great. i dont think this movie will be slow at all theres alot to fit into a 2-21/2 hour time period.

well i just saw full theatre previews for both speilberg and pendragon versions and they both look good. speilberg keeps in with the 53 version very well and pendragon has nailed the book version dead on from what was in the preview even down to the heat ray and how it looks( in the book it was described as a giant camera looking box). still no full images of the martians. i cant wait to see which way speilberg will go with these, big walking tripods or big hovering manta rays. -
for some reason i hear the sound of ewoks and blaster fire when i see the 2 legged one

send a email to forbidden planet they had it on the shel in the store so they may be able to grab it off the shelf even if it isnt on the site.
-
the only way Duke Nukem will work is if Bruce Campbell plays duke. they used his "Hail to the king baby " line from army of darkness in it anyway. he also does the other lines for duke as well.
-
i saw it at a scifi store in cambridge called forbidden planet. its behind the grafton center. dont know if the store is online though.

i have to second 08th MS team. im no gundam fan but i liked the high detail, gritty work put into that series. i liked seeing gundams that had scratched paint and pilots who were real soldiers. i have to second gasaraki also. for a strange dvd try Memories. its 3 shorts done very well. Heat Guy J is also a different series that has some suprising good points and good music i it.

if they do a new dubb it had better be good. i dont want to hear a screechy little girl voice on millia like most ADV or HG voice actors. millia needs to be husky like her japanese counterpart.

hmmmm Rahxephon, convoluted story, giant mecha, weird ending that makes perfect sense. Evangelion, convoluted story, giant mecha, weird ending that barely wraps up the story in any understandable way unless you have studied the bible, koran, and the book of life. which series total would you get the most enjoyment out of. i own both and Rahxephon gets more play. it may not have the violence but more thought went into the overall story. the end wasnt tacked on because fans didnt like the first one. also Zone of the enders is a good watch too.

the diorama will be built i got the wooden base yesterday and i have the materials to do it on hand but it may not be a river scene at least not a crossing. i was looking at poseability of the model and size of the wood and they wont lend themselves to a "river" crossing scene. maybe a stream or marshland. the wood is too small to make a deep cut river to go on it. and the models knees wont bend enough to give the river a steep slope. i plan on doing something with water in it though. the acrylic gel gomes in a tube over here and it isnt easy to find its probably easier in the states. the project is on hold again due to the flu. i cant stop sneezing and coughing long enough to cncentrate on making it. i hope i get better soon

they have the lion type voltron on R2 DVD over here in the uk.

LTSO, you willing to part with the ATAT . dont rub it in man. i wish i could get at least one more casting off SMT under the counter.

it doesnt look like the cheyenne was intended for rough terrain as much as urban warfare with the rollers on its feet. also the twin 30 mm cannons it was armed with didnt look like they were able to punch through the anti UN armor. the weapons seemed more suited to anti aircraft, anti personnell, and anti tank. i dont think they were ecpecting the anti UN forces to have an armored destroid design. the later destroids didnt have big boosters on them but do have vernier thrusters on them for zero G ops.
-
one thing about SMT is they make to order so once you order you may have to wait a few weeks before your kit is even poured and then it takes 4 to 6 weeks to arrive. you have to be patient with them. plus they recently lost a big money maker. they were served a CND from lucasfilm to stop production on their starwars kits. i was about to order their 1/48 scale ATAT and snowspeeder. they also had a 1/48 scale milennium falcon on they way.

War Of The Worlds Trailer is OUT! Summer 2005!

the director for the book version is timothy hines. one film he has done is the 1998 version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" which again followed the william shakespear story from the book. this is an old quote from hines the rest of the article shows basically how cruise wanted to do either version of the story. he had been interested since 2001 pre 9/11. Hines went on to say, "I am now convinced that the only way to make WAR OF THE WORLDS is to be one hundred percent true to the book. In the light of current world events, Wells' vision is more timely than ever and it needs to be translated to the big screen intact. If that's the kind of production Tom Cruise is interested in doing, then we may have common ground to talk." paramount had rights to do a WoW movie but pendragon had the rights to do the book version. i may go see the the speilberg version if he keeps the pace and mood of the story as well as the book version. -
sorry for no pics lately. i had to change shifts at work yet again so my sleep schedule has been shot to hell. i should have production started tonight on the base. ill post pics as i go along to show some of the methods i use to go ground work.

sounds like they are trying to incorporate the THUNDERCHILD scene from the book into the movie. in the book the thinderchild was a pre ww1 dreadnaught which rammed a couple of the martians while the martians were trying to destroy fleeing ferrys on the thames leaving london. when i read the book that scene is memorable now next year ill be able to see it in 2 different formats. origional and speilberg. ive got a pic of how one scene looks remember this is a production photo. IIRC in the book this scene was 1 day before the martians emerged from the pit in their machines. this summer i want to try to follow the "narrators" journey from woking to all the places he went to over here in england. -
sounds more like they made a movie about the old game xenophobe. anyone remember that old side scroller "aliens" ripoff?
