I took alot of stuff from my hobby room and stored it so i just have a few projects at hand instead of alot. I want to finish off a few things. -

Well i hate to burst your bubble but something that big in reality would have mold lines on its track they would be cast metal. Real tanks today have them. Im not dome weathering it yet either. I work in layers too remember. Theres yet another layer of mud and dirt to go . -

Working on a 1/32 Flanker at the moment here. -
Thats only because alot of customizations are simple sticker/decal swaps or a parts exchange. Yes there are full repaints but those are few. Models on the other hand are much more involving and take more time. Also recently there has been a slump outside the VF-25.

I like how that looks. Gives me ideas for what to do on my baneblade now THANKS! -
Thanks for hijacking and perverting my thread guys. This was not what i had intended. Im surprised it wasnt locked once the matter i had was settled. Mods you can lock this now. While Zardoz wasnt a bad film that screen grab is in bad taste.

I will be putting a DYRL pilot in it. The SDFM plot isnt compatable with this kit. The probelm is with the kit not the pilot. It will fit in a hasegawa VF-1 as Petar has said. The front seat bottom in this kit sits higher than the hasegawa kit.
-
They worked like a charm. As you can see. Even the cockpit decals fit well. I added a front seat panel from a VF-1 but the back seat is stock. The decal fell right in place.
-
Well here are the pics i promised. Decals and a wash. Also some shots of Petars fine work in teh cockpit. I havent painted the figs yet. That is a task for my next day off when i can devote full attention to them.
-
Wow that looks great!. No wonder i never saw it. That was posted well before my time here. I hope mine looks half that good when its finished. I still have to do up the antenna on the right booster. Im leaving it till last though so i dont knock it off repeatedly.
-
Petar i will take some shots tonight for you. Greyson I never did see yours built. BTW i applied all the applicable decals today before i went to work. They really look great. Gave them a shot of future too. I was worried about the wing walkway decals size but i made them work. Most of the decals fit reasonably well so this kit isnt too far off a hasegawa in terms of overall shape. Pics in a couple hours guys!
-
Ok the decals for the Ostrich arrived from Grayson 72 this weekend and are just what i need. Heres the bad part. Petars male pilot figure is incompatable with this kit. Doesnt mean i still wont use it and paint it up though. He sits too tall in this kits seat. I dont know how it would fit in a hasegawa since mine are all sealed but one would think Petar has a hase on hand to make sure it will fit and clear the canopy when closed. His female in civillian helmet however fits like a glove in the back seat and i have a spare DYRL style pilot so i can still have a minmay and hikaru in there. Should have some shots for you guys in a day or 2. Petar once these are painted ill take a bunch of different shots and let you pick the ones you like most.

Take that stuff out of the legs immeadiately. It will eventually eat through the vinyl. Go and get some 2 part plumbers putty and pack that in. it will harden and not adversely affect the vinly .

Actually Alfred Wong is canadian. You can find him over on starship modeler. But i also agree that his rendition of the B-wing is too large. If you take a 1/72 pilot and put it in the cockpit of the old Ertl kit , the pilot will fit better and match what is seen on the filming model more closely. A commong train of thought on the pilot is that he is 1/3 of the cockpit width. The ertl cockpit is 3/4 of an inch wide and the pilot in 1/72 is 1/4 of an inch wide. It holds up to the math. The B-wing also scales out close to the correct dimensions when compared to the fine molds X-wing and falcon and comparing those to the fleet scene in ROTJ. using the falcon and X wing as a solid size comparison base. -

1/20 scale. -
I just noticed that myself. Something about the lines in the head/torso part just seem....off overall. It looks like a tomahawk but doesnt feel right. Maybe im just too used to seeing the line art and Johns model. Looks as though some details have been added/changed too. There is just something weird about it.
-
Still looks a little anorexic in the waist area though. I may get it just to see how it holds up next to Johns more line art correct sculpt.

I recieved the figures from Petar today. Astounding. The details are great. Ill be painting the female military pilot up as Millia from the TV series and the male as Roy . There is another female in the flight suit that Misa wore on a few occasions in the series but should make a passable helmeted minmay in my DYRL Super Ostrich. There are some detail differences but in this scale only the true fan would notice. I will get to painting them soon but first i have anothe rmodel to finish

Clean up poses no problems for me. I hope they show soon too. I cant wait to see them in person/. I know how larger images can show off detail but its different seeing them in person.
