Those are the same colors i used but i gave mine a solid coat of flat blue first and im going to postshade after i do the paneling. Im not WMcheng but i would like to closely emulate what he does. This will be interesting to see the results between to simultaneous buildups. Im using the medium blue mixed with the flat blue to get different panel effects. Im also suprised you didnt put the yellow down first for the markings on the nose and then mask over them.

BEHOLD! the true power of anima spiritia.(ducks as chairs and desks fly) J/K actually my hand was holding the nose just out of shot. this is my stopping point until i get the decals in the mail and then i can do the final weathering. Sean

Scand We are neck and neck on the 21. im going to start base paint tomorrow. I found the best example/guide to paint this monster is WMchengs build up. Sean

Actually the English navy had designed and operationally flew a Jet aircraft capable of landing on water. This was back in the 60s i believe.

A shot of the underside for anyone who wanted to see it. The gunpod seems a little large to me but what can you do.

Jipe im leaving the cockpit tub dark grey because the LCD type display used on the walls wouldnt be on unless the pilot was in there and the acft was powered up. I am going to add more details to the cockpit still. I have already cut my canopy in 2 pieces and am adding frame rail details.

HWR MKII replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
New preview out for the pendragon pics release. There is a sneak peek at the tripods legs and the "cage " they keep their human "food" in. It also shows the top of Big Ben getting blown off and crashing into the london bridge. its a rough cut preview but from what is there i really cant wait to see it. -
Season 1 in the UK is over and all i can say is FRACK BOOMER FRACK HER TO HELL!!!

Question. Will they follow the sales trails? Piracy is getting really hot lately.

Everybodies help is greatly appreciated. I apologize if i seemed short in my answers lately. 12 hour shifts and both me and my wife being sick doesnt help. Again thank you all for any pics, advice or help you have all given. Sean.

That pic of the "dirty"19 is from episode 2 after isamu had done some extensive testing(what he did we will never know) so isamu was put in as a chase plane pilot flying a rocket boosted VF-11. Thanks NB4M the pic does help a little bit. i was going to detail it drawing from real world physical examlpes canopy frames.
-
Thank you Jipe. The pic of the 19 does help out alot. i remember that from epi 2 of the 4 part version but i dont have that on dvd so i forgot it was there. Im also considering making the canopy open. The vac formed canopy would be easy to do that with. Sean

actually if someone has pics of the fast packe for the 21 that would be good. they may be easier to do than the gunpods.

as far as fit the 19 was a better build. there were no real fit problems aside from the intakes but those are mostly hidden. the 19 is a little more fragile though in terms of construction. the 21 on the other hand has more fit problems. the canopy piece, the wing to fuselage fit, the intake fronts, the bulged pieces down the sides. and the big wedge shaped piece on the botton all required some carving and shaping. i had to razor saw almost a 1/4 inch off of one side of the wedge piece so it would fit period and the panel lines would line up. in terms of fit the 19 gets a 9, the 21 gets a 7 and the VF-1 recast gets a 9.5. i base this all on the amount of carving and filling i have to do on the pieces not the amount of putty used to blend them. i know im wrambling now but as a last note to anyone who has these kits. these are recasts and in that the pieces get slightly larger and clearances get tighter because of this. fit problems are to be expected so do not let it put you off from building resin kits. P.S. im also scratch building some gunpods for my 21 since it didnt come with any.

I like the model in the pic. Is that yours? i need to know whats under that red cover part so i can put at least something shaped correctly under the clear red piece.
-
Thank you all. Now for the last stupid question for the evening. Does anyone have line art or sketches of the sensors on the nose of the 19 or the 0 without the red lense? I cant do screen caps so i cant get that one clear screen of the 0As nose in episode 2 when the red cover gets ripped off.

What are the quality of his decals and how do they respond to setting solutions?
-
I talked to him today and thats what he told me. I just didnt want to get the minimal looking set that i saw on the clubM page this plane needs stencils. Let me know if you guys see anything i could try to fix or retry before i give her the final touches and clearcoats.
-
No new pics for today. I am trying to arrange to have the Hasegawa decal sheet reproduced in 1/48 scale if possible. I like all the stencils it came with, they help add to the overall appearance of it being a fighter aircraft. ill be working on the sensors in the meantime but after a 12 hour shift at work i cant really find the energy to work on them tonight. Hopefully tomorrow.

The answers given were all i could come up with too. as for Prometheums problem. If you paint a PVC or Vinyl kit with oil based paints and no acrylic primer the paint will not dry. All vinyl kits need an acrylic primer coat if you want to paint with any oil paints.
-
Earth tones, greys, and barker blues. Make sure they are CHALK pastels not OIL pastels. Oil pastels do not powder. The same colors apply to the artists oils aside from the blues. Blue is too intense as a wash

i listed some things in my thread that you could use. I started work on my 21 as well and all i can say is the thing is a BRICK!!! It weighs a ton and gap filling superglue with bondo are definitely needed.

Side view. Im leaving the foreward canards off until later. I dont want them to snap off during handeling.
