I didnt fill the seams but i still sanded the surfaces square to get a better flush fit for the arm armor pack.

Ahab its not sad its the truth. Sure its great he did all that but if it isnt going to be seen why go through the effort. Thats spent time and energy that could be spent getting more done. Look at the trumpeter 1/32 kits. take the new P-47 for example. The thing has full ducting for its supergharger and ratiator systems. Yet theres no way to see it when built. Same with their 1/32 A-10s. Full gun systems yet no way to show it off. Theres no loose or cutable panels. Same with the engines on that A-10 kit. Full internal compressor assembly detail. But it gets sealed up inside the ducting shield and is not invisible. I enjoy the hobby very well , ask the members im one of the more prolific and helpful builders here, but im not about to kill myself making something that will never see the light of day again.

Anyone know how much in the way of turnaround time we can expect....
HWR MKII replied to SebastianP's topic in Model kits
Doesnt matter. Bandai doesnt know how to do fine details and panel lines like hasegawa. Im sick of them producing only snap kits that are nothing more than unassembled toys. If they do go for alot of detail it will be very soft in resolution and very flat in depth. Hasegawa has spoiled us yes but they have also set a benchmark in the details that can be put into a macross subject. Look at their VF-1 Battroids. Superb. -

Its bandai . It WILL be snap together and it WILL be a detailless lump of VF-25 shaped plastic. -
Doesnt humble me. They guy is doing alot of needless work for stuff that wont be seen. Im all for getting the details correct but a good 3/4 of what he has done detail wise will never be seen. I pity him more than anything. Sure he knows it there be the person who looks at it wont see it and appreciate it. Unless they go to the site. A good example is te tail wheel well. 75% of what he made will not be seen at all. Cool he did it but overall its wasted effort.

the base chassis is the ld 1977 issue Tamiya Leopard 1. As far as the VS tanks all i can suggest is Ebay. The local UK ones would have UK chargers.

Well thats my 4th refit/rebuild since thanksgiving. The other 3 are a Stug 4 refit, a Stug 3B scratchbuild using a Henlong panzer 3 chassis and a cosmetic and detail enhancement of my king tiger which will be getting its clutch drive steering mechanism rebuilt soon now i have the needed replacement parts. I have my Venerable Tiger 1 still . Its fine and in no need of revision. I also have a T-34/85 that im going to detail up some and repaint. Then theres my 1/6 Leopars2A6, its electrics are overseas being rebuilt. I also have a 1/6 Panzer 4 that i need to get more work done on soon.

Converting yet another RC tank. Putting a Leopard 2 gearbox and track on a leopard 1 chassis. It will run smoother and look more accurate with the rubber cleat track. Im also remodeling the outside to resemble a Leo1A5 used by denmark in Bosnia in the early/mid 90s.

arent those the last 3 main machines from the series you have yet to tackle John?
-
Same ones they have been reissuing since they acuired the molds in the 80s. not new kits at all.
-
well considering in fighter mode theit 1/72 is...disgusting and in battroid mode its disgusting too. Better to just get the hasegawa battroid and fighter kits.

Ummmm.... Those were toys ...not models

for all we know bandai went and refinished some of the tooling and they are all snap fit kits. UGH! come on Bandai afraid of a little glue?
-

The vehicle is teh UCHG Hovertruck. But i dont really like gundam or hover trucks so i added wheels and bogies to it. I had the wheels and bogies cast since the original whel was made of a rubber that is known to melt and split over time. The figure is almost 13 years old. i painted it back when i ws 15 or 16. He is due for a rip and strip anyway.

Actually all those models in that link are by ONE PERSON!

thats cool but shouldnt it be in the "Other" topic section?

oh yes the 1/72 monster is quite large. Dwarfs even the other 1/72 destroids. Theres only one other macross garage kit that comes neat the Monster and that is the Booster and launch vehicle

Why not just look here http://www.samurai-monkey.com/boardz/viewtopic.php?t=836 If anyone is interested in a set I may be able to talk the caster into cooking up another set or 2 for sale.

Actually those are cast from a master i made. But in short i am adding wheels. I think the APC wheels would be a little big. The wheels i used were from a 8X8 Modern German scout car, the Luchs. I scratched up a bogie and sent them off to be cast.
