Yep. Jean Reno played Porco in the French dub that was done about 10 years ago (Rumor has it that Miyazaki loved the French dub.). It's a great chance that R1 will get that dub. PS: Michael Keaton plays Porco in English.

You used a Trendmasters Voltron didja? The gold chrome and the fin on the Green lion is a dead giveaway.

Godaikin was the line of Popy Chogokins Bandai released in the US in the early 80's (Like 81-83) Some of the notable choices in the line were Tetsujin 28 (AKA Gigantor), Combattler V, Dynarobo (From Dynaman), and GoLion (Cmon, Yall KNOW who this is!!!)

My question is in the comics, does Castle use any skills of archery? When I think of the Punisher, I vision a man armed to the teeth in automatic pistols, and that skull shirt.

I like the cartoons. So what they copied off Manga. Big-O copied off Batman. Scryed copied off X-Men. It's a full circle thing. I'll check out the comic.

In anticipation of KILL BILL Volume 1 & 2.

Amen! Though I did like Shanghai Noon and The One, I rather see Police Story or Fist of Legend before it. Martial Arts will never fade away. Believe that. -

I don't care what yall say. I'm seein it. It has Gordon Liu, and Vivica Fox in it. And I like both of them. -
That's the Voltron made by Panosh Place. I liked it as a kid, but as I grew older, I began disliking it. Bootlegs are available for this toy for as little as $10

They actually made this into a TV show! They changed the story a little to make it less interesting and more annoying though, instead of having two gay guys, they had one guy that was the gay-est sissy man to ever live, sort of a cross between Elton John and Barney. The show was called Macross 7. *Sniff* *Sniff* I smell a challenge. -
Konix was made by a Taiwanese company in the early 90's. During the time when the PC Engine and SFC ruled the industry. That would be the GamePark 32. It came out months before Nintendo released the SP. It's only saving grace was that it is an MP3 player, with a crappy interface that's been perfected by N-Gage. WS Did pretty decently in Japan. Decent to the point that it was outselling the Game Boy Color a couple weeks at a time. Mattel was rumored to be REALLY interested in releasing the WS to the west. Until Nintendo announced the GBA.

Kinda OT: Is anyone picking up the Scarface DVD?

*Raises hand* Love it since I saw it on Cinemax as a wee tyke (With the volume down low, of course) -
The best ones are the Lionbots. I've had a pleasure to see three of them in my lifetime (Including one to compare to an Authentic Godaikin). All three of them were damn exact to the Godaikin right down to the missles (Which fly farther than the Godaikin.) They're IMO the most perfect bootlegs you could get of ANY toy. The TMs are horribly designed. The colors are not exact to the original (MINT green lion instead of Jade green and Lemon yellow Lion instead of Golden yellow) and the lions that made up the arms had fins for some strange reason. Not to mention having no firing mechanism for the lions that made up the legs (They came out AFTER Dreadwing came out, so the safety excuse didn't compute) The sad part of gettin the Lionbots are the inflated prices. I've never seen a LB go on Ebay for lower than $90. They are great, but they aren't $90 great. I wouldn't pay no more than $70, since they are still in production.

My first Macross Valk wasn't Jetfire. It was the 1/60 1A Hikaru. My pops was too cheap to buy a $40 toy, and I only saw one ep of RT on Toonami. So I'm a late bloomer in terms of Macross toys.

I find it funny that NO ONE mentioned the FM Towns Marty, The Konix system, nor Tiger's Portable ystem

Personally, Square makes okay . The newer aren't as jaw dropping awesome as their 16 bit titles. The only PS2 I liked overall was Kingdom Hearts. But Chrono Trigger is still their best (And most revolutionary, as it was the first collabo between Square and Enix's designers.).

Lookin nice so far. Has anybody seen the first issue of Anime Play DVD Magazine. It had a 30 minute special of Hideaki Anno teaching a course at his old Elementary school.

*Listening to Some Like It Hot* I've been a big fan of his music since his Power Station Days. He will be missed. PS: George Plimpton also died last night. -
Toxic Avenger is tha bomb!!! Makes me wonder why there are no video games based on him (Not that he's a tough license to get. I bet Lloyd Kaufman is WAITIN for a Game company to pitch him the idea!)? PS: Has anybody seen the JP extended version of TA2?

I don't fall into a set type of movies. I love comedies like Mallrats and the Friday series, and I like dramas like Scarface (DVD coming out next week! JOY!!!), and Eve's Bayou. I also like the movies other people can't stand like UHF, and Dude, Where's my Car (Yes, I liked that movie). But two in particular touch my heart in ways that other movies have not. The two are Forrest Gump, and The Last Dragon.

I try to put in as much time to both my GC and PS2 as possible. I'm gettin mighty selective when it comes to buying . Nowadays, thanks to friends, I don't have to buy all the newest . I can wait a couple weeks and borrow it from them (Saved me from buying .hack vol 2 and Matrix). My two latest are F-ZeroGX and SSX Tricky PS2 ($15 and an auto reserve for SSX3), and I'm loving both of them.

That's a dayum shame. I was thinking of seeing that next week... But my money's goin to the Fighting Temptations (Mmmmm. Beyonce.)

Guess who might direct the new Superman Movie....
JRock replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Either way, I'm glad Jon Peters is out of the project The punk wanted a mechanical spider in the movie for God's Sake (And he ended up puttin it in one of his productions! First person to guess what it was gets a C-Cookie ) -
Correct! The movie as a whole is over three hours long so they cut it in two 90 min movies. It also stars David Carradine (Kung Fu) as Bill as well as Sonny Chiba (The Street Fighter) and Gordon Liu (36th Chamber of Shaolin). With the score provided by The RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. I can't wait for it.
