watching Macross Frontier - first time - for some reason had never watched before. On episode 4 - love it - the action and characters are really great and sadly are (IMHO) making Delta look pretty poor.... -

Yeah - the stickers vs decals is a tough choice - I dont think they quite do either perfectly. Trying to do all the major color areas as paint instead of using the decals or stickers... Masked up in pic below and the blue went on this afternoon via airbrush - kinda scared to take the masks off lol....

good god man, the JJ E is huge - I guess I missed that it was so much larger than the old E! Whats the crew complement supposed to be? Wasnt the old trek E like 450 ish? -
Oh those little guys are cool. Really love the designs from Delta, just wish the show was turning out better - its starting to kill my interest in these releases a bit....

yeah the redone face, hair etc is amazing (assuming not some photoshop action going on) but why not fill those holes and remove the seam line - its kinda an odd thing not to fix/address given all the other work.... -
Is the ENTERPRISE show not canon? Wasn't NX-02 captained by a woman in that series? Does newer/more recent canon over-ride older?

Yeah - looks cool - maybe it is carrier based and the wings swing like that to save deck space -
Arad arrived today here - not 100% keen on this ones color combination but still plan on building it. The figure rise busts do look quite nice paired with the VF-31.... Might have to reconsider purchase there....

Really dig the 02 color scheme - best of the lot IMHO - cant wait to get that one (though still slowly working on painting the 05 here)

I found assembly to be pretty great. I went with the decal route and had a mess - they actually went on pretty good for me but even with some clear on them damaging was super easy. I stripped them off (was very easy to do) and am trying to paint the markings but that is turning out to be fairly involved....

Yeah - I guess all ya can do is hope that you got in early enough I guess? I had a confirmation email back by 2 minutes after the hour so it felt like I got in there fairly early....

Little worried that HLJ had their PO open for so long - do they have any history of not honoring or "running out" of Pre orders? Just seems odd that the other sites were up and closed in seconds yet HLJ was there for a long time with this.... Will be super disappointed if that is the case....

Strangely I am the exact opposite - I havent been all that interested in any specific units since SDFM/DYRL but for some reason the Delta VF-31s all really appeal to me. Not good for the wallet....

Ha, yeah I don't know what I was thinkin with that statement - clearly need more sleep or to at least look at my display shelves a bit more often.... I guess I should have been specific to say this is my first of these DX toys that has all this pre order sillyness

sigh - I think this will be the first Macross toy I will try to get - it does not come with any kind of base so it can be displayed in flight, correct? Do you folks typically just purchase a Bandai base? If so, which of their bases are good for this size of model? Thx...

Im so old I prefer the TOS E and the Franz Joseph Tech Manual designs for the other Federation ship classes (Destroyer, Scout, Dreadnought, Tug) Was into the Star Fleet Battles stuff as well - liked some of those....

Thx! Do you know what Mr Color code is the 60% grey that should be used in that mix?

So, for the suggested paint mixes on the Bandai instructions, pretty sure for the primary blue they are saying 70% Bright Blue (Mr Color H65?) and 30% white, but for the purple-tinged grey that makes up most of the top center part of the fuselage, sides of lower legs, etc. I am a not sure. I think it is saying "grey?" 60% + white 20% + purple? 15% + ? 5%... Anyone able to translate the paint call out a little better? Thx....
