That's what I said about the Yamato! Originally, I was a Takatoku/ Bandai 1/55 freak until I got my first Yamato VF-1S 1/48. To me the 1/48 was much better in person than the pictures. Next thing you know I got the other 3 DYRL 1/48 along w/ the Fast Strike Pack. So yeah, just imagine when the VT-1 and VE-1 are in the making!! Not to mention the Destroids and other vilian mecha.

That's what i'm talking about! Who else can say it better than Alex. Thanks bro! 1. Defenitely worth my time, space, and money. 2. I think the only improvements to be done on a 1/48 would be: a. anything better than chicken hands b. slightly narrowed chest width c. thicker arms d. line art transformation sequence (no swing bars) e. removable nosecone emergency escape capsule. d. non-removeable intake covers e. better hip and shoulder mobility f. sliding pilot seats (would slide up in battroid mode) g. VF TWO SEATER VARIANTS h. Taka/Bandai durability and construction with diecast parts i. .................... 3. Contributions: a. Hasegawa decals and details b. Yamato interpretation of line-art c. Bandai construction and tampo printing ***d. Banpresto style interchangeable heads ***e. Takatoku (defunct) style packaging, would be the icing on the cake!!! NB4M 324184

Nice pictures. By the way, how did you get the decals to make it a Max? Or was it painted?

Oops, my bad! Didn't mean to neglect the HCM series either. They are old school. 315674 315706 315893

Haha, what A school was it? At least your in the Mother Land of anime bro and im sure there're ton of things to get that the U.S. dont have. U.S. Navy Yeah this is true. Exactly one year ago i was down there to attend the Transformers convention "BotCon" in Pasadena. While i was there i visited Frank n Sons, and it was awesome! I was filming inside with my video camera for about 20 minutes or so when a guy comes up to tell me to put away the camera. I thought hw was playing around and i told him "yeah right!". He then told me, that he was head of security and the place was private property and there was no filming allowed without permission from the owner. So he escorted my ass back to my truck and made me put the camera away. Wow they were strict about that rule and caught me off guard! Well now i know, at least i got some footage before they caught me, LOL!! haha, so that must've been you that I saw then. 309892

That's a well thought point. I can't see the 1/60 going up in value. But definitely the 1/48 series.
-
Yeah, I hated the price tag too. But trying to boy-cott the 1/48 is harder . But you have apoint there VF-18 Hornet. By the way are you in the U.S. Navy?

Whats up fool! Kool, thanks for the link and will call later. 319449 Hey Agent GHQ, How's it going? Try looking at the Gundam Store. They always have sales on the 1/60s. Give me a call later. NB4M 319454

Interesting! i was thinking about get a few of the 1/60 too just for the sake of comparing them to the 1/48 and playing with it instead of my 1/48. But if the 1/60 are selling like $140. No way....

What's up everyone! I was just curious in regards to the Yamato Macross 1/60 and 1/48 series and wanted to know your comments/opinions whether these toy-line will have appreciation in value or not. Much like the Takatoku and Bandai 1/55 series. They sure have a degree of value in them. But will Yamato have the same effect as the 1/55 series lets say 10 or 20 years from now?
-
I don't know about the 1/60, but definitely the 1/48.
-
Let hope Bandai re-issue these Elint 'n Super O. But hey I have not herd any word yet or an offical take on the production, so i'm not going to buy it. But until then, we'll just keep on dreaming. And it would be nice if they do a combo pack like the Max 'n Maria or the Vermilion TEam Squardron.

That's the same question I asked myself. I mean, lets put things in perspective. These Anime based toys were the new trend in the toy/action figure industries. A transformable robot is that trend of the '80s. Lets think and let see what the result are after these toys came to life. For instance, if I was Takatoku, Bandai, or Yamato, I would definitely make ALL the characters or Mecha due to the popular and demand. And since this thing was a new trend it has a degree of value at a later time (Like TODAY). They did not think and predict in my terms as described above which is why there are so many unhappy and disatisfied Macross fans, like us. Which is why they are where they are today. But lets give Bandai credit for rejuvnating (Bring back to life) the 1/55 series w/ the upgraded featuures to it. And that I greatly appreciated. I just wish they could have reissue the Super Ostrich, Elintseeker, and Strike Valk, you know. And make combo pack like the "Vermillion" team custom did. So the bottom line here is that I htink they are not as hard core or have an extreme interest in Macross as we do. Think about it. If you had the right tools, equipments, staff, and whatever else needed, wouldn't you want to build our dream mecha/characters of Macross? Heck yeah, right. But then again it takes money too.

That is pretty high for a Low Vis. I can see if it was for like a vintage item. But then again, it all matter to you. By that I mean how much dose it mean to you to have it and be content w/ it. As a case in point, I paid $2,200-- for a "Dead Stock Mint" for the 1/55 VT-1 Super Ostrich and VE-1 Elint Seeker 1/55 1985 on eBay two months ago. Man, to me it was alot of money but the fact that I love them so much and always wanted them in "Dead Stock Mint" condition out weighed the $2,200-- I paid. Hence, i'm thrilled, content, and happy.

I'm speechless. Okay, i've broken the spell!! Dang, this is the ONE. Anyone have an idea how much this will end. Okay, i'll start. I think this might end at approximately $500.
-
For reals! It would be a nice addition to the collection. Noticed, unlike Transformers and G.I Joe, Macross just didn't have the villians. Something is wrong w/ this picture. Come on Yamato, please make more villian!

How do you tell whether its a re-releases for the Yamato 1/48 series. What are the distinctive characteristics from the 1st to the last re-released? Please list the details as much as possible. Thanks everyone.

Damn...its the best news i've herd so far. Keep it comming!!! Oh yeah Yamato pelase make us a 1/48 scale like the VF-1 Valkyries. While I too would love some MII toys, you guys have to remember Kawamori's got creators rights. It's kind of like Katsushiro Nightow of Trigun, if he does not like a trigun product, it will not come out. Kawamori has stated before that he does not like Macross II. Macross II did not do that well in japan either. If the creator does not like it, then how are fans to get macross II toys? Plus if it did not do that well in japan(macross plus is on the radar a lot more than II is), why would a company risk tooling expensive ass molds for a product a lot of people in japan may not care for? I would love macross II valks, they are slender and different and very nice. But will we see them? i doubt it. 316106 316109 Macross II is not Kawamori but he is the original creator of Macross. Not to mention you act as if demand in japan is high for macross II stuff, which I very much doubt, otherwise we would have had more merchandise and artbook reissues and special edition DVDs and crap. What do you see when you see macross in japan? DYRL DVDs, music CDs, macross plus stuff, some macross 7, some macross 0....wheres macross II? It's not that big man. Like I said I would love to see mac II stuff but the probability of it happening is slim IMHO. Heres a quote from one of Graham's 2003 newsletters. Note that the news is TWO years old at this point, and a LOT of things can happen in a matter of just one month. So again, I doubt we will see a VF2SS. 316111

Ahh....man, I shouldnt have sold it, but that life! Not only the one I sold was bone white, but its the best box condition i've ever seen. Congrat on your win bro cuz you got yourself a piece of history! By the way, how's the movie business down in Hollywood? -Ryver U.S. Navy 315674 315706

If I was Yamato (with the mentality of a business and fan), I would definitely produce more and new characters too. I would pretty much like to see all the mecha shown in Macross and DYRL!!
-
Hmmm....they look familar. Didn't I sold that on eBay awhile back? Thanks for the pic though. Ryver-

For me, I like the rough/ rugged texture. It just feels right and more sturdy than the "Tatsunoko" box.
-
That's correct Kanata67! The Strike Valkyrie's box texture is different too. The box w/ the "BigWest" sticker has the rough/rugged texture. But the box with the "Tatsunoko" sticker has the smooth/thin texture.

What's up everyone! As much as I love the 1/48 Yamato series, i'm very much in love w/ the Old School 1/55 series too. With that said, I would like to know what 1/55 series everyone have in their collection. So please attached some pictures of your collection. Regardless of its condition and whether or not its loose or in the box. Just like to see how your 1/55 series collection looks like. Need to go back to my old school before Yamato takes over.

I learned about that too about the GBP set. However, I did not know about the front landing gear button is body color, but know that it was black. And yup, the Takatoku heat shiled can be seen under a light where as the Bandai Strike Valk heatshield is solid black. So keep that in mind folks. according to XStoys the GBP also has variations. The Heatshield on the VF-1S is a smoke black color that when held up to the light is partially see thru or it is solid black. Also the Front landing gear button release is body color or black. And the weirdest variation is a cardboard tray that encompasses both Valk styro and armor styro so that you can put them in all at once or take them out all at once. 315300
