I'd rather the preorder be on Christmas Day than Christmas Eve, personally. Since I'll be at work, I'll be available to try and get one (as long as we don't get any calls) and it wouldn't take time away from my family that I wasn't already going to miss.
-
I thought they already revealed the figure earlier this month? It'll be a relief for me if what you're saying is true, though.
-
I probably will. I don't know, I'm torn. The Christmas Eve thing sucks for me. That day is essentially Xmas for me since I'm on shift the 25th and 26th. Taking time away from my wife and daughter so that I can preorder this thing just feels wrong. Is it confirmed that it's a TWE or is that what's being concluded from somebody joking that the Minmay figure was going to be a web exclusive?
-
I can't read what that 1D flyer says other than what's in English, but is that saying that the preorder is going to be Christmas Eve?
-
Well, that's not the way I wanted to start off my morning.....
-
Sorry....in 1/48 scale, of course.

Not that it matters (and to totally nerd out), but if I remember correctly, Looney Tunes, who were produced by Warner Bros, were different than Tom and Jerry, who were part of the Hanna-Barbera cast of characters with MGM. I know the great Tom Jones did amazing work with both Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, and his style is definitely unique, so it's easy to think they were part of the same stable of characters. Anyway, as a huge fan of the old, beautifully hand drawn cartoons, it makes me sad to see them redone in soulless computer animation. For every Roger Rabbit, there's ten Garfields and Woody Woodpecker films. Oh, well. I'm sure my daughter will be itching to see this (which means I'll be going to see it), but this childhood fan's hopes will definitely not be high. Sucks because the old Tom and Jerry cartoons had, in my opinion, far and away the most beautifully drawn animation of any of the classic cartoons, and that includes classic Disney.

Did these sell out as fast as the VFs or are the preorders not too bad for accessories?
-
I don't know how lucky I feel, personally. I'd say resigned is a better word. I actually went back and forth on whether I was even going to get a DX Roy as I love the Yamato version I already have. I was going to see if I could find one for a good price, but if I didn't, oh well. That Roy armored set cinched it for me, though, and the last thing I want is for them to release that and have to pay some crazy price for a near unobtainable DX Roy 1S because Bandai decided not to bundle the armor set with a Valk.
-
I bit the bullet and preordered one as well. That's a bit more than what I wanted to pay, but only by about 2k yen or so. I'm willing to eat that cost to avoid the scramble of finding one after release and the lack of sleep that requires.

I agree with gerwalk being too iconic to pass up. My only problem is that the 1D has one of my favorite head designs and gerwalk does a great job of hiding it. This might be the first VF I have to get multiples of so that I can display one in battroid and gerwalk mode each. I really do hope it comes with a couple Minmei figures.

Let's not... Or the Nousjadeul-Ger... Or the Phalanx... Or, dare I say..... Stop playing with my emotions, Bandai. Don't make a brotha go Big Worm on ya!

So, they'd sell the grey visored 1J as a stand alone?
-
Especially since they already seemed to have a Tomahawk ready to go. Just release it already, Bandai!!
-
Seeing as the 1J is pictured with a grey visor, I'm guessing it's bundled. Even the Max (which, it sounds like isn't going to be sold) has the grey visor. That armored Roy and 1D battloid battroid, though....man. Amazing. With them producing a 1D, I'm hoping the chances of a VE1 are good as well. A 1/48 version would be a definite get for me.

Kitz Concept Toy Thread 2.0
mantisfists replied to Stampeed Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I know there were lots of people who bought the 1st run Roy 1S who hated their toy and regretted buying one. If any of you would like to sell yours for MSRP, I'd be interested in taking it off your hands as long as it's in great shape. There's a few on Evilbay for around $160 shipped, but that's a bit too much to pay for this toy.- 2451 replies

I saw that but everything's in Japanese. It shows how to enter it into the Japanese language page. The only language other than English I speak is Ebonics and the alphabet looks nothing like that. Scrolled down a bit, though and saw the Rakuten section is in English. Maybe that'll work.
-
Is there an English version of the address I need to enter into Amazon.jp or do I need to do it on the Japanese language version? I'm trying to enter the proxy address as an alternate address but have no idea what to enter in.
-
Cool. Thanks, y'all. Makes me feel a bit better about trying it, then. Much like DYRL VF-1S, I'd pretty much only be using it for the Robotech Macross items Amazon.jp and others won't ship to the US. Thanks for explaining the difference between the two Anasazi. That makes sense and would explain why they'd need some form of ID.
-
Tenso's website says you need to send them ID copies to use their service. Is that normal? Not sure I'm comfortable with that. What's the difference between them and, say, Buyee and what are their fees like? Sorry bout all the questions. I've never used a proxy service, though, so I'd like to pick the right one.

Ha!! Not what I meant, but I'd take it. I'd have to figure out a way to make it functional so I could drive it down Hwy 17. That would be amazing.
