Great job as always Mr. March. I can't wait to see what you bring forth as content for the Macross the Ride. Pics, pics, and more pics!! BTW - Were you ever aware, in the Macross (TV) there is a squadron that appears two instances, known as the "Persimmon Squadron" (Orange-ish/Red accent colors). Both times they are sent out as first wave response and immediately get blown to bits. IIRC, they apprear somewhere between episode 25 -27. The colors on them are like that of the "Alaska Base". Check it out.

Retcon is rampant in the Macross universe. Official color schemes on tangible products will for the most part be non-canon.

I can't wait to see this in person... Fabulous job as always Kurt!!! Long live the 1/48!

should macross get a remake also
nightmareB4macross replied to southpaw's topic in Movies and TV Series
Why not leave well enough alone?? I personally don't care for a remake. It's just another excuse to turn the beloved SK style VF-1 into a Hasegawa-stick like VF-1. I like my VF-1s on the slightly heftier side. There, I've said it, and proud of it. Besides, look at what Macross the First did. While it is cool to look and sure there are slight story changes and all, but all it does is fog up my memory of a time when all Macross pure, as it should be. Do we really need Macross to be retold in a slightly different way? NO!! -

Nice catch. Congratulations. One thing that doesn't appeal to me is that it make the underside bulky. Is this just a cover for the arms???

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
nightmareB4macross replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Way to go Yamato!!! Would there be any possibility to have attachement struts made to attach this in the top-side of fighter mode. I know it's a non canon request, but it sure would be cool. BTW, is the actual speaker projectile removable and does it reveal the speaker??? -
That scheme is really nice. Time to make another custom scheme in 1/48.

Anyone know where to find 1/48 Option Parts
nightmareB4macross replied to Benson13's topic in The Workshop!
Go to ebay. The parts pop up from time to time. -
1/60 Yamato Regult H.D.P. Material Questions
nightmareB4macross replied to OmegaD3k's topic in Model kits
Looks good. Are you planning to weather the finished build? -
Is that the 1/4000 model kit from Imai? Looks uber cool with all the other scale variations of the SDF-1. Damn Kicker, everytime I see pics of your collection it scares me. In the way that everything in the future of Macross merchandise will only exist to end up hostage in your dark closet(s). Awesome collection!!

Yamato 1/3000 SDF-1 modification and paint up...
nightmareB4macross replied to wm cheng's topic in The Workshop!
This thread is just stunning. Everytime I get a chance to look at this there is always something new to see and drool over. :o I'm just wondering, are you also going to apply the "aztek" effect to the darker areas?? The two distinct patterns really throw off the larger than 1/3000 scale appearance. -
Hot Damn!!! Your sizing is perfect. Not too big and not too small.

You're collection really takes me back to the good old days.....sigh....

If the decals have been clear coated already, then you might want to not have a remedy other than replacing the decals. If you HAVEN'T clear coated the over the decals, then Setting Solution might help soften the decal. You can then prick the bubble and press the decal as smooth as possible. Then allow to dry and clear.

Small project: head custom for 1/48 VF-1R
nightmareB4macross replied to IScustom's topic in The Workshop!
Awesome job!! Please post links to the availability of your kits. -
The cold weather is where the problem lies. Usually cold humid weather will give cloudy (sad face results). Sometimes using a heater can help clear this up, but if doesn't...well you know what you've got to do. Good Luck.

True, but you really are comparing apples to oranges. Yamato is on the designing forefront of completely distinct and never before scene mecha coming to life.
