  1. The design choices are interesting. With regards to the backpack, wasn’t it Kawamori who redesigned it in this fashion? One odd thing about the backpack besides the obvious is the small trapezoid it connects to. The part seems to stretch. It doesn’t appear to raise like a plate or any previous versions of it. Either way the kit is very impressive. Tekering, thanks for sharing these pictures with the rest of us.
  2. From previous post yes tha quality is subpar given that parts do not mate well, plastic feels cheap, and breakage is imminent. But what I would like to know is about the shoulders. Has anyone experienced any breakage the shoulders? Are these the updated versions?
  3. Same here. Makes for a nice way to start the new year.
  4. Well played. Well played indeed.
  5. Yamato ddI a really good job on these. Congratulations on your recent acquisition.
  6. The heads appear to be molded to this flanges. This is an easier way to mate the flange to the lower part of the fuselage and maintains a streamlined bottom while keeping costs down.
  7. Like most there are only a few that I would definitely want: -VF-1J Hikaru TV -VF-1S Super Hikaru TV -VF-1A CF TV -VF-1D TV -VF-1S Strike Hikaru DYRL -VE-1 ElintSeeker -VT-1 SuperOstrich and GBP-1 Armour TV Beyond this list I have no interest for anything else. I hope this line is a success for Bandai and we get more than just a handful of varietal VFs.
  8. Can’t wait for next month!
  9. Love it.
  10. One day. One day soon, I hope. I’m just happy we are still getting a new VF-1.
  11. Calm down no one is challenging your professional prowess. Plastic is the most cost effective solution to make the plates work properly ala the 1/72 Bandai. Was it effective not by any stretch, but It was the first iteration of actual moving plates and could have been made better moving forward with fhe DX. While you state steel is better sure it is, but practical not likely. And steel does fatigue as you so pointed out. From a practical and manufacturing and innovative standpoint the plates would have been ideal. All that is needed is the legs to secure properly in any form B/G/F. If Bandai had given it more thought an progressed with the design I am confident an adequate rendition could have been achieved. Note: I also built the 1/72 kit, if you hadn’t noticed from building the transformation sequence is also unique and nothing like Yamato’s or Takatoku’s previous designs.
  12. Doesn’t have to be metal. That is sometimes the worst material to select for intricate parts such as these. There are extremely durable plastics that would do the job without issue.
  13. I understand that, I just don’t understand why Bandai would have gone backwards when they already developed a far better system with the swing plates. Oh well, it is what it is.
  14. Well the old Takatoku version required two swing bars. The Yamato version had one. At this point is hard to say if the new Bandai model will or will not fall victim to loose joints.
  15. If you source the adequate materials to handle the stress and durability issues of transformations it will be possible to make it worK in the same manner as the 1/72.
  16. That would have been the perfect solution. Implement what they themselves had pioneered and not trek over previously crossed paths. I just wish Bandai would have truly given us something NEW.
  17. Now that would be an interesting idea for PlaMax to market. I could get behind something like this if they offered all the pilots for DYRL and SDFM for all VF/E/T and A/S/J/D configurations.
  18. Order now. These are limited to 20 per person. How many of these did HLJ get stuck with?
  19. Hey Saburo, I like how you’re mess-ering with those super parts. Looks really good on the Kairos.
  20. But perfect transformation has nothing to do with the sequence of transformation and what it take to achieve it. Perfect transformation has always referred to changing from one form to another and assimilating the form it is meant to represent. The swing bar used is really a lazy and old representation by Bandai originally introduced by Yamato. Heck you could detach the old Yamato swing bar and use the hip swivel just the same by removing the center pin on the swing bar. But oh well, Bandai has come this far but at the same time not really far enough.
  21. Does anyone know why Bandai insists on having a swing bar if it can be detached? I mean there seems to be no real purpose for it even in GERWALK or fighter. Bandai should just should have eliminated it and gone with the old Yamato V1 style. They could have had a great opportunity to build up incorporated side covers and at least lineart accurate detailing under the backplate. The strange connection pin still baffles me. Hopefully my gripe will be for nothing once I get this in hand and really understand the purpose of these so called enhancements.
  22. Might have been a short line where he was able to get back in line with more items. Or he just had a few signed and forged the rest of the set. Either way very cool collection.
  23. So now Bandai is hard up for cash and is going to nickel and dime us? I would have gladly paid a slightly more to include the correct TV set of accessories with this and any release. So what’s next GPB missles are going to be sold separately form the armour? For shame Bandai. For shame indeed.
  24. Finally!
