    Lucky for you JVM. My kids really like a lot of the Macross items we’ve collected over the years. They play with them on and off and love seeing the new stuff that comes in and they get to play with. I have thought of selling it all off, but my kids always ask to keep it for them. As a dad and Macross collector this warms my heart knowing they care for these things like I do.

    Your statement is like looking in a mirror. My collecting has slowed down dramatically, because I feel at the point that my collecting will become my children’s burden. While they love playing with our collections I see a looming wave waiting to hit when they have to decide what to do with it all. They want to keep some stuff but for the most part I have instructed them to sell anything and everything if they ever wanted or needed to when it becomes theirs.

    Thanks guys. I am m still customizing just not as fast or as much as before. The VF-1X X-Ray version is created from the poster found in the Gold Book. This is truly a labor of love and lots of work has gone into keeping the integrity and transformation. The picture attached shows the process to lay out the frame with blue painter’s tape. The cuts are done with a Dremel to bore through each panel and delicately cut by hand with a dull XActo knife. It takes forever but it looks really cool! Tha Glaug is a MLZ22 Kit, and so is the Regult. Both have amazing details and measure well in true scale with the 1/48s. I hope to share more in the coming months.

    This is where I ended up on the fence and then made my purchase. I collect KO items so this will be a nice addition. I hope they make a great version of this Hikaru VF-1S StrikeValkyrie in grey so I can pair it up with this rare grey 1/55 version.

    Have you considered making a clip tha would reach down from the center of the claw to the backpack. This would be able to take on the load for the entire arm and might require less work and give you better streamlines attributes over installing magnets on the claws.

    Good catch on positioning the thrusters correctly. The instructions show one on top and two on the bottom in GERWALK mode. Also you might just be able to trim the original thruster plate as long as you set it in the correct orientation first then trim to fit. nice job on the antenna. You build is looking really good.

    A couple of years ago my 5-year old son won this as a pachinko/raffle prize. While it has never been opened it still looks pretty cool. The set is the Fighter and Battroid which of course can be parts formed into Gerwalk. To date I never bought one, but my first impression of this was that it was nice to pick up but not the retail prices for such a tiny VF. Shame though this truly a great scale VF.

    So looking forward to your build. Sorry I have nothing to offer to translate anything on the instruction sheet, but rest assured you don’t really need to read it. Take your time go through the instructions, dry fit for before paint, clean it, paint, and assemble. Share progress pics.
