I’m in the same boat, but I think it’s due to release of the VF-31 Movie edition. Hope they both get released soon.

I do agree with many that say this 1/72 is nice, but the most glaring offense is the area near the intakes. It just seems awkward the way those parts come together.

It looks good. I would only critic the choice of keeping the bare metal hips and shoulders. The flow of the custom just seems incomplete.

If I remember correctly the canopy and cockpit is slightly different in the MtG. Just doing a head swap would not be enough.

That’s like selling your vintage Takatoku and picking up the Origin of Valkyrie 1/55s. As much as I like this design I just don’t understand why this is being released. Honestly, I would much rather pick up this item from a KO manufacturer for less. This whole PF is really getting old. I understand Arcadia being miniscule compared to Bandai but they really should focus on some new.

Not this again. I am so close to the point of swearing off Arcadia if this has happened to mine. Now imagine what the new SV-51 is going to end up like. Bummer.

Well all this theorizing is interesting to say the least. But one thing is clear about a manufacturer of this size. They have no need or want to apologize or accept any wrong doing on their part it’s just bad practice. Manufacturers deal with these issues in several ways. One is to offer a rebate to the customer. Two is offer the customer to destroy the product as they have a no return policy, as this is most common to avoid contamination or confusion of returned product, then in return offer to pay for the disposal. Three offer an investigation and report back with simple discoveries and remedies that only cover the surface of the issue. Four they tell the customer to firesale the product and then they offer them a rebate. That’s been pretty much the MO for all manufacturers who can tell the customer that no matter what happens, the manufacture is not at fault. Sad but true.

It might be tough to get the legs to collapse for tank mode. That’s probably why it looks so chunky. The gun is way undersized as well. In robot mode the legs look a bit clunky and thick. They could add a few millimeters in length to make them look slimmer and have then telescope to tuck in better during tank mode. For being the first rendition in decades they aren’t too bad of a job here, but not too well either.

So after sitting the DX into the 1/6 cockpit I thought it would be fitting to place the 1/6 pilot through the DX Battroid ingress. He almost fit...:)

Well when you think about it, if Bandai states the DX as the successor of the 1/55 then there is no comparison it passing of the torach scenario. The 1/55 is made with older technology and to compare it the new DX and the CAD and 3D rendering available nowadays is a bit of a stretch and quite ridiculous. It’s like comparing an older Cadillac to a newer version of it. While the styling is great for its time and the people who lived through it, it would be the new Cadillac that will appeal to the newer generation and create a whole new sensation of nostalgia. The DX is good no doubt about it, but so is the 1/55 in it’s own right. Personally, the 1/55 still holds strong monetary and emotional value for me. The new DX will only be validated with time if it will stand as the true new VF-1 king.
