As long as they don’t look like the Super 7 mini versions that came out. Those were terrible.

That pretty close to the original color. The trend is brighter and whiter as most valkyries are nowadays. This figure is straight out of the box. Only the 1/48 M&Ms had true white.

Great update. Thank you.

Cool paint scheme. Can’t wait to see transformed.

Is this vaporware?
-
Did this ever get produced? Also, if you open the first link of this thread you will see the Yamato Zentradi Uniform. Is this going to be reproduced as well?
-
I hope you guys are both right. If this release is of Kai then I am totally for it. I was never too crazy about the price tag. All Bandai did was splash some black steaks over the original paint scheme, attach a new emblem, and a few armaments.

Kikan Taizen 1/6000 - SDF-1 Macross (Movie Edition)

Have there been any updates regarding this item? -
Thanks for pictures. That last frame with DX Hikaru in the pilot seat of 1/60 is what I always pictured if Roy was scaled accordingly. That guy was tall!
-
Nice pics treatment. Would you mind placing the DX pilot alongside the 1/48 and the 1/60 counterparts.
-
Thanks kyekye. I will definitely be doing the same.

I think you have been a bit exuberant in anticipation of your upcoming DX. Just relax and take it slow. You’ll definitely enjoy it slow. Then once you get used to you new DX you can manhandle it to your hearts content. -
I still enjoy all my 1/48s. They have always been a favorite of mine to custom. The unique paint schemes provided by Yamato seemed so sumptuous during their time. Also, these were the closest to the UD model kit by Tanmen. I simply could not get enough of these. To this day I still collect and customize these and enjoy the process. Still my all time favorites, yet the new DX is really close and only time will tell if it will topple the original fully transforming 1/48 by Yamato.

I don’t believe so. That might only be a prototype. -
This is the way of MW. We’re never happy with what we got. But that’s what I love about this place. It give us something to gripe about in unison. ;P

The funny thing about this that the fins always folded the wrong way. The should fould out towards the side of the leg and not towards over the landing gear doors. Yamacadai never did this right. rdrunner, the legs are shown in use when Hikaru enters the atmosphere to rescue Misa. Even in the animation the legs fold out and not in. eggy99, It’s funny but true. But that is the way of MW.

Tekering, thanks for trying it out. It’s a good thing it doesn’t fit or else that would have killed any future for the GBP.
-
They do. It’s an old technique used by modelers. The nice thing about it is you can remove the effects years later without affecting the finish as long as you topcoat first and then apply the mixture. I have used it on several projects and the great thing is it still looks great!
-
I’m on board with this. I use two methods. One is to use the old graphite or lead shavings with soap and the other is acrylic spray with a fine airbrush. A cotton swab will remove any over application without affecting the plastics. Adding my two cents to make it four!

2) And with this you just went V1.2 Yamato.

It’s also for atmospheric entry from outer space.
