Whats Lying on your Workbench MK IV
nightmareB4macross replied to Urashiman's topic in The Workshop!
I remember using only “White Out” and a “Sharpie” to do all the details on this 1/144 kit. Sir you have unlocked “my childhood.” You deserve a badge of achievement. 🤗 -

Cool release but, talk about being late to the game. This should have been released right after the first GBP-1J release as interest was hot for this custom scheme. Not sure I even care for this release. Oh well.

These figures are of good quality, down to the PF style tampo. During transformation you can feel it is not as smooth as the original. Overall they are decent figures. Just my two cents.

If only Takatoku implemented these details into the final toys. The red and blue landing gear covers always seemed strange. Also the head lasers could have been color matched to each respective 1J for Max and Milia.

I don’t believe we have. Good catch.

You guys really know how to make a kit really stand out. Excellent talent. Working on the gun details. And yes, definitely keeping the firing mechanism. Pew, pew, pew. -

I was today years old when I finally realized the cover of the Macross Design Works is an actual 1/55. 🤯

That’s an interesting interpretation of the white base coat. I was thinking of going with white from 70’s style fighters. It’s somewhat matte sheen and gets glossier along the surface areas that have the most friction during flight. Thanks for the suggestion. -
Looks good, and really liking the new sculpture of the 1J head. The 1S could use a bit more height and resembles this mash up way too much. Top half Takatoku and bottom half 1990 Bandai. It can’t be unseen. Since these are prototypes, I am sure it can be corrected.

That is some clean and sexy mole technique. I am still contemplating my paint process for my project and always look for insight when possible. Thank you and keep building more awesome kits. -

It was just a plug and play accessory. Honestly, I don’t recall reshaping the peg for it to fit. -
Looks like an original resprayed with primer. Chest has the red stripe underneath. Also the heatshield is the very same used on reissues. Come on Tony, tell us.
