  1. Agreed. Wish CMs made better stands.
  2. Unfortunately CMs never produced one. But you could always use an extra Roy and green paint to make one with helmet on. Not perfect but at least it completes the set.
  3. Love it! Show this to you’re wife. I’m sure she would appreciate it. Enough of our derail. Back to HMR. Apologies everyone.
  4. Right on! But we try to keep it tasteful and practical. These figures are here because they are in arms reach for my kids to play with. To each his own and more power to you! This not for everyone but we do enjoy it.
  5. I got nONE! Thanks. Once I get it, the kid’s fighting scenes will be more complex, like when Santa joins in with LEGO Star Wars and Minecraft figures to go up against various Macross mechs. It’s a pic from last Christmas.
  6. Well actually my screen name might not be what you think. Nightmareb4macross begins as Nightmare Before Christmas as I am quite a fan of Mr. Burton’s works. Then it ties into Macross. We have a “living collection” for lack of a better term. Items are brought out to display/play/admire from time to time depending on what we want to do with it. We don’t keep our items out for long periods of time. If the kids ask me to bring out, for example, Gi Joes rather than Macross we repack items they won’t be playing with and bring out the Joes. It’s a good system to keep interest going so we don’t get bored of seeing or playing with same things over and over. Plus it let’s the kids realize they can have whatever they want out as long as they are responsible and put away items in their respective place to care for the collection an have it last for a long time. The items you see on display were played with and staged there by my son. They’re all in storage now. During play they pit UNSPACY vs the Zents, as it should be, but UNSPACY was losing.
  7. Ha, ha, ha!! We all collect what we like!
  8. My son picked out both at separate occasions for different reasons. The skeleton came first as a Halloween decoration but he just wanted it indoors to keep in his egg chair. A year later he wanted a Robot Unicorn game party for his 4th birthday. So we purchased a few unicorn masks for his party. In the end we had nowhere to put the mask and my son ended up putting them together. Before the mask was on the skeleton it used to wear a rainbow colored and light up Mohawk (from a local circus) that now resides in the the metal pedal bomber plane with shark grin (seen in pic). Our family likes to collect various oddities. Sleep tight.
  9. Thanks. I am trying to blend certain aspects of Perfect Memory, the VF-1S Strike Valkyrie X-Ray póster from the Gold Book, and this poster. There are a few niuances that work well with the Yamato platform I am working with. Plus this custom will retain full transform abilities to showcase eaves detail. One detail I did go out on a whim was to creat the Master File leg engine and it’s actually installed in each leg. Look closer, hard to see but it’s there.
  10. Oh good. For a minute there I thought it wasn’t working.
  11. Either Jazz and Skywarp are an excellent choice. Instead of buying the single Skywarp, it might be best to consider finding a trio set. It works out cheaper with shipping. These are all available now. There have repainted versions from various episodes and movie. My first choice because he is so iconic was Agamenmnon. My son transformed it first with the help or a YT video. Once I saw how easy a 9 year old can transform this without breaking, I was hooked. Both modes look great and the build quality is definitely abundant.
  12. Tell me about it. They really were the closest to completing the line. VF-X Frame not done yet. I have been working on more ideas for this including full panels made from soft drink containers. Plus there is a lot of details that I am still deciphering from the x-ray VF views. Too many contradictions and I want to create an almost seemed blend of all sources available. VEFR-1 is still on list and have a few parts that require recasting to get started. But for the most part this one should be pretty simple to accomplish. I just want to complete my other customs first. But they are coming.
  13. Still one of my favorites. Although, I do prefer the color scheme Yamato came produced.
  14. I agree with your statement. If it looks good to you then go with it, and enjoy it.
  15. Wait what?!? Isn’t this what we always wanted? I mean you can look at what 3P companies taking the anime correct route and delivering some very well executed results. I would have to say one that comes to mind is the VF-171 Nightmare as it is a great interpretation of it’s CG form to a 3D toy and how it represents itself in totally. Cannon Fodder loaded with nothing but “explodium” that Bandai used to recreate what we saw on the series.
  16. IIRC, he did. It was in his 1/48 section of adapters.
  17. Put me in the queue for those hinges as well. Thank you.
  18. Great action shot! Some of my favorite characters from the Marvel vs Capcom universe.
  19. That was my thought process. I originally purchased a set of multicolored .07 led pencils to draw panel lines, but the results made the ship feel smaller. Another alter move was to create panels using Tamiya tape but it just didn’t look right as the edges appeared too raised. Can’t wait to see what you decide to do with this.
  20. Your dedication to this project is damned inspiring good sir! I was wondering about the panels themselves. I never really noticed a particular size of panel that would be used on areas like the booms or legs. Do you have a reference you’re using to determine the size?
  21. Love your devotion to the build. what about “azteking?” Could you achieve the same effect with masking and paint. I believe WMCheng did this with his 1/3000 Yamato SDF-1 and the results were incredible and produced a results that made the ship feel bigger. You guys are giving me inspiration to do another custom SDF-1 but with a ridiculous amount of bells and whistles. That’s why I love this forum, people are great in sharing and the possibilities are endless for customizing.
  22. Was about to put these Takatoku 1/100 Destroids away and didn’t realize just how relatable they are to our current times and those of us who work from home on Zoom meetings. How do you dress when you stay at home? - Dress shirt, no pants, but mandatory boots. - Dress shirt, no pants, and flip-flops because it’s getting hotter outside. - Dress shirt only because you know your just going to go back to bed and sleep after the meeting. These figures are pretty awesome.
  23. Awesome old school items and amazing revelations about the Strike Valkyrie. Makes me wonder if Bandai ever had plans to produce a Super VF-1A given that they used a Takatoku stand in and used artwork to support the VF-1S Strike on the cover art. But where is the love for these guys. Takatoku 1/100 Destroid Conversion Kits!! There pretty incredible toys for their time and the articulation and custom abilities are by far some of the coolest. Oh, and of course it has a metal inner frame.
  24. Just look for NewAge TFs at any of your favorite TF dealers. Also available are DX9 War In Pocket, NBF Pocket War, MFT mini, Magic Square MS mini, and a few others. So far, at least for me NewAge is ahead of the game, but there are a few good selections peppered into the other manufacturers’ releases. Magic Square Light of Justice (Optimums Prime) pairs extremely well with NewAge Agamenmnon (Megatron). To give you an idea of size Cobra Commander is in there for reference. They are also great fun for your kids and pets.
  25. You’re welcome. I feel the same way about the quality of this line.If NewAge was to ever create Macross transforming mech I would be all over it. Hopefully, someone working for their line reads this and is a true Macross fan. Don’t forget your Insecticons.
