I see the same thing happening with the backpack, as it also rears itself further from the main body. Good thing the camera or marketing guy notices and decided to use the wing as a side cover. I know a guy who knows a thing about hinges to make things look smaller. š

Very nice. Like a nitwit, I sold off a lot of my 1/55s when the 1/48ās came out. I the last few years I have recouped all the Bandai Reissues. The Origin series was a bear to find. Happy to have them back and to have acquired many others along the way.

Thank you, everyone. I would do the same whenever I would travel. Take pics on take off and landing. It was always amazing to see how everything worked. An updated 1/20 would be amazing to have these details incorporated. I am sure they could create a more elegant solution on such a large scale. -
That is the great part of Jetfire. There are so many out there that they can be customized into anything Macross.

Some of those panel lines are all kinds of odd. Look at the flaps on the wings and those on the vertical stabilizer.š¤Ø -
They are, but they usually go for good money. You can always get a slightly used VF-1 with all documentation, stickers, and accessories included for a decent price.

Open it. Itās too interesting to leave in packaging.

Yes. Yes I am. š Testing how it will look and work. And perform. The peak will be around 40-45 degrees. Not bad at all. And each will perform independently. -

That is looking incredible. Do you remember if Sharon Apple was floating or was she on a mobility cart of some sort? -

There is plenty of room. Itās just how you approach them. Using 1.2 mm rod makes it possible. Plus the way these trailing flaps are made they allow parts to move without issue. Who knows, maybe one day I might do this for a 1/48. And check, in 2011. -

Actually, I thought about them but they donāt show up in the line art. It wouldnāt have been hard to add them in but theyāre just not there. These details began to appear in Master Files books and Hasegawa kits so while they could have been there sooner I think Iād rather leave these out. š -

Iām trying the best I can to bring in a lot of new ideas but trying to remain respectful of the original design. My goal is to be able to see it at a glance and people say āhey, thatās the Valkyrie I used to have as a kid!ā But when they look at closer it is but at the same time it isnāt. Just my humble take on an update. Much love for this old 1/55. -

Got a little more done. Extending flaps and each move independently. Really enjoy the look of the new vertical stabilizers. -

Wish I had the wheel for you. Why not just scratch build it? Thanks for heads up on the mechanisms for the vertical stabilizers. I was just wrapping that up today. Installing the hinges tomorrow. -

Unofficial Plastic Model Kits (Knockoff/Bootlegs)
nightmareB4macross replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
That is truly interesting. The toys that were released with a blue molded canopy also had the same removable canopy. But for some odd reason there is no clear canopy to swap out for fighter and GERWALK modes. -
