Well this article doesn't seem to apply to the U.S. Trekkie (collector or whathaveyou) as these studies are based on crime scenes in Canada. In the U.S. we mostly have artists. For Example: MJ, Nelly, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen (very borderline)...

Thanks so much, I was going nuts trying to find pics of it. Do you happen to have pics of the 1/55 custom?

Nice job. Cheap and very effective.

Pics of the Daedelus attack manneuver?
nightmareB4macross replied to Valk009's topic in Movies and TV Series
How about this? Rosario Love Note: Prior to Daedelus attacking, the three protective barrier discs were used as a shield on the front of the Daedelus. The discs prevented any damaage to occur to the ship (arm, whatever) of the SDF-1 as it puched through the enemy vessel. Once the Daedelus had maximum reach, the discs were (either: set elsewhere) or removed to allow the D to open and have the destroids unleash their firepower within the enemy vessel. -
Hi guys, I would have loved to make this year, it would have been my first. My father passed away Thursday @ 5:20pm, with that being said I will spend my day at the Bloomington Cemetery. He died at 65 of cancer and extreme conditions of diabetes. Sorry, if I brought down the thread, but I really wanted to meet my fellow members. Have fun everyone, NB4M

Awesome Custom!!! The style looks very familiar. I am pretty sure I have seen that custom in 1/55. I will try to locate the link for that picture.

You say that now, but wait 'til it actually is released. Succumb to the DARK SIDE, buy 1/48 GBP.

No paint was used in the customizing of these valks. Only Vinyl tape was used to cover over the red marking of the average, VF-1A Reissues.

Make me an offer / silent bid threads
nightmareB4macross replied to Mechamaniac's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
I totally agreee with Mechamaniac. The puspose of the sale thread it to come forth and sell an item with a set price. If people wish to fish around for better prices, by silent bidding, then they should do it on E-Bay. I think what has happened here is that since many people have now caught wind of the "Best Offer" funtion on E-Bay, people are now trying to do the same on the sale threads as well. Personally, I don't like it. If you wish to make a straight up sale, then just post a pic of the item and a price attached to it. Otherwise, please use another media to get the best price for your item. After all, none of the threads head as "Best Offer" only "For Sale". ...my two cents. (that is my offer) -

I think in part it does. More so, it seems to be more of a nostalgic factor. How much of your past (childhood) can you hold onto. For myself, as a child it was more for the purposes of expanding my imagination and being able to relive or create new worlds that really captivated me. Now as an (ahem) adult, it has more to do with construction and the ability to enjoy the characteristics and structural design of the toys (refering to Macross and other mecha). As for, my NB4Xmas collection, that was more in the fascination of the story and my admiration of the noir type artistry.

1984- I begin to notice transforming robots being sold at a local supermarket near my parents house in LA. I pay a bit of attention to them but very interested as of yet. Most of the items being sold there were Dundine, Gundam, and a multitude of other small plastic mecha. Transformers hits the airwaves and shelves, I go nuts. I begin to collect these on my own but I can not afford many of the larger items (ei: Optimus, Megatron). At the same time I am still collecting GI Joe and Orguss (1/40) toys. Approx. 1985 I notice many new Jetfire type bootlegs at a nearby swapmeet. The boots were actually 1/100 Takas (little did know) so I picked up about 5 of these since I was only getting them at $5-$7 a pop. Many of these were destroyed due to the "customizing" and "cannabilizing" of these bots. 1986 - Robotech begins and I take more notice but am not very interested in the vehicles of the of "Robotech Masters", they really do suck, as much as the storyline. I then begin to notice that the small Takas I bought were RT (don't hate me I made this connection as a kid and was not aware of Macross at the time). After the loss of the other 1/100s I go back to find all have been sold. So I wander a bit further (just down the block, a place called House of Gifts) and discover the "RoboticJet(s)". Actual boots that I thought were really more RT than the Takas. So I buy a few, and more whenever I would frequent the store. I am still collecting GI Joe, Orguss, Transformers, and now MASK and Henshin Robo Legioss. 1986-87 I began skateboarding, still I am a collector. I skate down the hill from my house and to place called "Koreatown Plaza", I would skate this really cool hip and painted concrete ledge. Low and behold I see a StrikeValkyrie in the window. I walk in and see many other DYRL 1/55s, nice but to me they are not RT or Xformers. Still, I give in and buy the Strike and an Elint (Ostrich is also there) at $30 each. Neither would last more than a half a year in my possession, I traded them for more GI Joes. To make things worse I had already dismantled most of the valks and took what I could from the valks to make custom "jet" vehicles for my beloved Joes. 1987-1990 I begin to collect girls. 1991-1993 I still collect girls and begin collecting NB4Xmas. All the other stuff I collected has been kept in storage, lost, or destroyed. . I begin to start watching Anime (mostly Cutie Honey, Urotsokidoji, Golgo 13, Crying Freeman, Macross DYRL (looks familiar), etc.). 1993-2000 Still collecting NBXmas. But a whole new resurgance to Robotech has begun for me, with this I am newly introduced to Macross. I search Google for RT and get Macrossworld.com. 2000- to Present Still collecting NBXmas and Macross to a feverish level. I guess the cycle of collecting has never really ended for me just keeps changing in the sense of what I liked.

I was thinking the same thing. The wings bent back like that do give it a definite Dunbine look. Great Job. Was this all done with metallizers? Airbrush or can?

Excerpt form the interview "...There were also cultural differences that made us decide to change certain things—including editing out the usual snot bubbles, blood spatters and gratuitous panty shots." Fools!!! You (Sneghoff and Macek) removed the best parts!!!

This is the GU-11 I was referring to in Perfect Memory. In the book, it has the cenceptual designs of the VF-1J M&Ms holding them. Great work on the modified GU-11. How about doing these NP-BP-10 FAST Packs. While I am not totally sure these are from Macross, they sure would look great on the upcoming 1/48 GBP from Yamato.
