What hands are you using for the Max VF-1S? They look pretty cool, and much better than the frail hands Yamato used. -
Excellent work Kurt. How long does it take to complete one of these customs?

Powerpuff Girls go anime!
nightmareB4macross replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think one of the funiest episodes, was when Buttercup (Green PPG) discovered the toothfairy gives you money for your teeth. I don't want to spoil it, but you really should see it. -

It's not really aimed at girls, it just very humourous. You really need to plunk down and see a few of the episodes. They are quite funny. -

But in order to graduate, you must learn to spell correctly. Rite? -
It would bolt up without a hitch, but then that would mean a total repaint of he nosecone and the entire valkyrie itself (so the color would be consistent throughout). As previously suggested, just paint the nosecone of the VF-1J resissue. ****Always remember less paint mean less paint chips.

It's actually a compact mirror. The valk is just to pretty and vain to go into battle. Unless it's a catfight!! 'Cuz then Meltrandi BIOTCH, IT'S ON!!!

I totally agree with ChristopherB. Also, speaking from experience, a very effective paint remover is called Scalecoat. This media is spefically designed to remove paint from any plastic of resin parts without consequences. The paint that needs removal does not require soaking of parts. It is very easy to use and can be done by just swabbing Scalecoat over the paint to be removed and after a few minutes just wipe the paint away. A VF-1J Reisssue is the most recommendable walk to use as it required only removal of the red paint that destiguishes to be a 1J. The other marking can be left alone and will give you a much cleaner and more orginal look to your custom. With regards to the resin items, all parts must be cleaned, sanded, filled, sanded, primed (this is my method of choice), as it helps to remove imperfections from the recasted items. You can use a paint from Krylon (Smoothest Finish) grey to completely match the original color of the VF-1J plastic. I have posted several pictures of a VF-1A low vis that has this technique applied to it. Mind youm this was the first time I used Scalecoat and Krylon Smoothest Finish Paint, with exemplary results. Search for the thread the pictures are rather large but you'll get the picture. NOTE: You will note that the metal parts are the only painted items, while the blue parts are actually dyed (Plastikote, Shale Blue). Good Luck on your custom, and have a blast doing it. Don't forget to post pics of your progress. Late', NB4M

Nice job!!! -
Nice shirt. I like the colors used. The font could be that of the Taka Box. Also you could place the female drawing (on the inner leg of the suit) on the right arm. Are these going to be available after the Con?

That is pretty ingenious. If this were made a few years ago and lot less expensive I would have gotten it for my father. -

MW Significant Others Thread
nightmareB4macross replied to Skippy438's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Skippy438, You have chosen a very cool thread to start, Kudos. Well, last year my wife bought me my first 1/48 (1J Hikaru with Super Packs), and throughout the rest of the year she has purchased about 20 more valks (of various scales). This year she has already set aside a fund to purchase for me as a gift, on my B-day: - 1/48 GBP - 1/100 Koenig Monster - 1/48 Roy (third edition) - 1/48 Strike Pack (for Roy) - and who knows what other things she (yes, she) has in mind. My wife is my everything. I love her whole-heartedly, and I appreciate everything she does for me. I can never say I could ever be whole with out her. -
I thought it was Bobe-Patt. J/K

1/72 G-SYSTEM AMS-119 GEARA DOGA HWS
nightmareB4macross replied to zeo-mare's topic in The Workshop!
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, Alex Tribec says, "The categories are, "Name that sweet FSS", "What's my FSS name, Biotch!", and "Who's your BIG RED FSS DADDY!"" Alex - Zero-Mare this is your thread so you get to pick the category. Zero Mare - "I'll take, "What is my FSS name, Biotch!, for a thousand." Alex - The answer is, "Who is the FSS mecha, NB4M seeks?" Zero-Mare Rings in and answers, "What is Phantom? Alex delcares, "Wrong, and now you DIE!!!" (shoots index card at jugular of Zero-Mare.) Highlander hesitantly rings in. "What is Ashura?" Alex - "Ooohh, I'm sorry. You got the right answer but phrased it incorrectly. It should have been, ASHURAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! GGGRRRRRAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" (Alex yields a giant cue card from behind and slashes Highlander to bits.) The answer is Ashura! Thanks guys, BTW is this kit still available? How difficult is it to obtain and build? -

I punched up FSS in a Google Images and came up with this. The Phantom on the bottom is the one I really want. It's strange though, IIRC I had seen this kit at about the same time the Led was orginally released. Correct me if I am wrong. Could you post pics of the other red colored types? Thanks, Alex -

Zero-Mare, Would you be able to tell me what the red FSS mecha is? I saw it so many years ago that I can't remember the name of it, only what it looked like. Thanks. -
Is that like the waterslide set Barbie has?

FSS has some of the best mecha ever. I have never seen the anime (I really need to though), but I have always loved the look. The designs almost seem surreal. I remember seeing these; Led Mirage, also a white, a red, and a gold kit and fevering to build them, but the prices for these (from what I found) were astronomiCalifornia!!! $350-475!!! One day...I will own and build at least one. -
KidK, Got pics? I've been curious to see what this would look like in 1/55.
