  1. Yoo hoo....Pics?
  2. Has anyone started to build this kit?
  3. Izzy, There is also an varient without the Strike pack. This was also released by Club-M, and I think is far more rare than the UD Strike Version. There are also larger scale valkyries produced by a company called REDs. The are a bit more rare and have far less detail than the UD Strike. IIRC, the scales offered were; 1/32, 1/24, and a whopping 1/20. Some members on these boards have these and it would be fantastic if they could share some pics. Or even offer some insight on these rare kits.
  4. Can't wait to see you get started on this. Will there be a WIP thread? Will this be transformable or static? If static, which or the three modes?
  5. Could you post a pic?
  6. Still waiting for someone to step forward with necessary parts for this project. Anyone?
  7. That's a nice paint job, Judokast. Are you disassembling the VF-1s? Or are you still brush painting them all together?
  8. This is turning into an epidemic. If I am to reproduce these, I need broken limbs from an original VF-0A, A only. I would have to use the parts to thicken and enhance the old design. The reason, I ask for "A" limbs is that I would like to reproduce these as they have the screw holes, as do the bicep covers. If there is anyone out there who can help to get this project one step further please contact me via PM. I would require both halves of the upper left and right arms, as well as, both halves of the left and right bicep covers. I will do my best with this project and try to obtain a very close to original color match. Thanks, NB4M
  9. You know after seeing all these broken shoulders I am really considering recasting these parts in a really strong resin. While I am not sure of what the long term effects are. I am sure it would be better than having a VF-0 with a broken arm. If there is enough interest I could reproduce the parts using an unbroken arm. I could attempt to reinforce it somehow so it wont be as easy to break and might be able to retaina a small rubber washer inside that can keep the arm somewhat tight.
  10. Oh they're coming. Since my wife had our daughter I have only recently been allowed around paints. Next month it will be rubber molds and resin casts. Life and it's little compromises. ------------------------------------------------------------- For the Super/Strike Packs I'm going with the Bandai 1/100 VF-1D Super Valkyrie. It comes with the Super parts along with a different set of Strike parts. The level of detail on the Strike parts are much better than the counter parts.
  11. It's the either the reason or the mixture that are at fault. It's never the producer.
  12. That's my next trick...
  13. Nice idea on the repair. You could also try using a rubber vaccum plug. It is found in most auto parts places in the "HELP" section. The plugs come in various sizes and can be cut to your needs. The price is only a buck for a set of 12.
  14. Isn't the G-system kit a reproduction of the Club-M kit? From all the pics I've ever seen the G-System kit has a fewer parts. I've read posts before where builders state parts are missing when it comes to building the G-system kit, as the follow the instruction book, but the parts are casted together. Also, isn't there something about them previously producing the landing gear in resin? I'n not mistaking this for other HK recast shops, but from what I can recall from previous threads and comments posted here. Bring on the comparison. You've just caught my complete attention.
  15. Seriously. We should. I actually own a VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valkyrie and a static fighter VF-1D, both customized by Jung Chao. The colors on the VF-1D are really very nice.
  16. That has always been the best looking interpretation of the YF-21. I hope Yamato makes it soon.
  17. Here's a Toynami 1/100 VF-1A Blue Roses w/Custom Fast Packs
  18. Are you talking paint job only? If you wanted to sell a repaint, you just might get lucky and break even or get just a little bit more than expected. A highly modified 1/55 is not for everyone. This type of custom is more a labor of love.
  19. Of all the features, I still like the sliding hand feature on the 1/55 better than the 1/48. As far as the 1/55 thanking the 1/48 for anything, not in my book. The 1/48 should be thanking the 1/55 for that it was and wasn't what it is. Without the 1/55 missing so many gimmicks the 1/48 might not have existed without the 1/55 as a customizers forefront. Also there seemed to be an endless supply of 1/55 to customize. From what I have read Takatoku actually produced about 1.2million Valkyries (unkown is how many were actually 1/55s). Plus there were tons of boots and the re-issues...oh yeah, and that weird Strike Valkyrie named Jetfire. Mods to the 1/48 have already begun: - Eternal D's DYRL Hands - Cap'n America's VF-1D Conversion Kit - Various other tidbits. There is still much to be done for our beloved VF-1 not matter what scale or maker is comes from.
  20. If Toynami, decides not to make the Strike/FP armour, it doesn't matter. I've got my set almost completed. It looks pretty nice so far (on my VF-1A BLUE ROSES).
  21. YES and NO. YES, because Yamato is now producing their own variants that people will spend money on only to acquire it. While not spending the time themselves (consumers) to customize and come up with something totally unique. and NO. There is still plenty left to do on the VF-1 sculpt by Yamato. While the platform is nice, it still isn't perfect. Also there are no 2-seater. That alone is one hell of a customizing job to accomplish. On Another Note: 1/55 Is Still the KING!
  22. This clip just reminded me how incorrect the rear landing is on the Yamato VF-1. Great clip by the way. Thanks for sharing.
  23. I've only taking it out the box. I guess I'd better take a closer look.
