Or you can just sand the top a the LED just a bit, then sink it further into the head. Apply clear coat over it and it should look pretty flush and flat. Nice Job.

Most parts are glued onto the valk, IIRC; leg armour, backpack, and a few other parts, that would make the valkyrie non-transformable. Info supplied from my same question I asked him on E-Bay.

I'm with you on this vote.

Value of these figures is really depending on what you want to pay for them. Mostly what I've seen is some sell for as low as $1 up towards $110+. There are six pre-painted figures with stand and framed pictures included: 1. School Girl Minmei (x2 - one green, other blue) 2. Minmei in Polka Dot Dress (x3 - one green, one blue, and another in red) 3. Singing Minmei (x2 - one dark aqua, and the other in DYRL colors) 4. Hikaru in TV Flight Suit 5. Misa in DYRL Uniform (x2 - one with a light colored clip board and the other with a darker clipboard) 6. Misa in Swimsui (x3 - one yellow, one green, and another in red) So in actuallity there are THIRTEEN figures in total, just repaints really. There is also a set on vinyl models that you assemble and paiint yourself. The sculpt on these is actually pretty nice. I really wish Arii would have completed the line of ,IIRC, 12 sculpts which would have included Roy, Claudia and Milia, as well as, Minmei in a chinese dress. THIRTEEN figures circulated and counting. Also, I was browsing through the toy section on MW and saw all the prototypes of the remaining figures to be produced in 1/6. Damn, the prototypes sure are ugly, well except for Claudia.

Changes to the head only apply to the SUPER VF-1S from 1990 and not the STRIKE VALKYRIE, both are from the Bandai Hi-Metal series, but only the 1990 has several (and very noticable) changes.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

No. Definitely NOT a G-Nuts fig. Look into VA's sig. -
Thanks for the translation V7. That is a great story. I had always wondered about a certain valkyrie in an old Takatoku catalogue. The valk was a different sculpt altogether and had faint similarities to the old 1/55. Could this be the valkyrie that was made of wood and painted to demonstrate a transforming valkyrie to the Takatoku toy makers? Prototype 1/55 *Well, it sure isn't made from toothpicks and paper.

Congratulations on your first 1/48!! My first was a gift from my wife. TV Hikaru VF-1J with Super Parts, it's the best. To this day I still own it and have bought several more along the way. Enjoy your 1/48 as most of us still do. Welcome to MW.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

I lean more towards the VF-0D coming next then VF-0 Reaction Armour and then VF-11 Protective Armour. It's a good thing that Yamato hasn't show us much of what they are doing on the VF-11 only because it allows them to use their creative process and show a finished prototype instead of a step-by-step process that get's bashed all the way through to a prototype. If Yamato decides on making more variable designs they should really kill off the 1/60 V2 and pursue other never before made mecha from Macross. Lord knows there are plenty great designs to choose from. Plus, there is a plethora of Destroids and Enemy Mecha to build. I for one would love to see a MK1 from Macross Zero in 1/100. That sucker is all business. -
Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII

Wow, Ron!! The way you prep, paint, and detail old kit makes you really forget that these are old kits. Your painting skills are very refined. Great job!! Post a pic with all your customs to date, please. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

HOly Cripes!! This is one nice looking valk albeit the V-Fins and the slightly husky and stubby fighter. Yet, you can clearly see why Yamato decided on finding a balance for all three modes. I'm really curious to see how the heatshield works, as well as, the rest of the transormation sequence. The big plus is that this sucka comes with fast packs and a removable escape capsule. And is larger than it should be, GO SK!! As far as other attachements, like the rocket booster and the armour I would expect those to be released in two seperate packs. Damn, I have get at least three of these. -

Great news!!! I just wish it could be sooner. I wonder if Yamato will release all the armaments for the YF-11. -
Of all the Yamato toys I have purchased... 1/48 - Only a few have been loose at the joints but otherwise in perfect shape 1/60 - Only a few have been loose/very loose at the joints but otherwise in perfect shape 1/60 V2 - Broken before I touched it. 1/100 - Perfect

Just wondering... Does anyone know if the CMS Max Q-Rau fit inside this? Or do the feet have to modified?

Wow!!!

Brush slightly warmed vaseline onto the mold. Just warm it up so you have a smooth and thin consistency. If it's lumpy the vaseline will leave unwanted brush strokes behind.

No need to assume, you've already hit the nail on the head.

I'm with you on this. I like it!! -
Wow, awesome work as always! Was the color scheme to your liking or that of the customer? It seems a bit bland, like it needs a little something to make it "POP".

Yamato 1/60 VF-1A/D/J/S v2.0
nightmareB4macross replied to Dante74's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
My VF-1S had the shoulders broken upon receipt. And I just got this TWO days ago and took it out of the box. WTF!! I brought the legs down to transform it to gerwalk and there I could see the right shoulder cracked at the pin. I moved the legs out of the way to repair the damage. I applied styrene glue and let it sit to soften the plastic before I apply pressure to rejoin the parts and glue them together wiith a second application of styrene glue. So far, so good, I left the parts alone for eight hours so the glue would be completely dried out and the crack set and repaired. I then proceded to remove the shoulder covers because the shoulders were on too tight and I feared the arm would break also. I don't know what the hell is going on with these, but this F-ing sucks. Thanks for nothing Yamato.
