  1. You can use any option you'ld like. Just remember to sand all high-friction areas, where wear will be most prominent, such as the joints.
  2. Would it have been easier to use a LV2 1/48, add the VF-1D parts, then mask and paint? Nice job. Looks interesting without the camo pattern.
  3. That is going to be an interesting and exhaustive undertaking for your friend. Good luck, and well wishes to your friend.
  4. That looks pretty cool. Just a small critique. Is there any way to better define the shape of the nose? It looks like a clump, rather than a soft rounded cone shape. Nice job.
  5. Note to self... Buy the 1/60 Vf-19 Kai and every other variation thereafter... BUT NEVER, and I MEAN NEVER LEAVE THESE IN GERWALK. The ankles are beyond comprehension. They look like a twigs.
  6. Do you really have to ask??
  7. Sorry to say, but the only two I purchased were defective. Both the VF-1S Roy (DYRL) and the VF-1D. I've learned to stay away from these. I was trully hoping these were a lot better than the other Yamato iteration but, alas they were not.
  8. Rubbing wax on the suface of the seat will help, as if would prevent contact from the seat to the pilot. Using a rag or peice of paper will only make the pilot stick to the object used as for interferance.
  9. I wouldn't recommend you clear coating the pilot. If the pilot is having issues with paint transfer (via melting) then it is most likely that the paint is not drying or airing properly, on the figure. If you clear coat the figure it will never dry. These are the basic effects when painting a vinyl kit with enamels.
  10. The beam cannon is pointed far to high in fighter mode. I wonder if this can be corrected at the connection point and not by swiveling the cannon downward.
  11. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

Getting out without the use of a ladder.
  12. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

    Modded Hikaru to standard Kakyzaki.
  13. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

This is far as both can move their legs and feet (thrusters) forward.
  14. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

More adjustments and mods to allow for a lower sloping cockpit, without losing the 1/48's center of gravity. The 1/60 can't go lower due to limitation in the joints and loss of center of gravity.
  15. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

    Talk about a tight flex.
  16. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

Close up of elbow and wrist.
  17. From the album: VF-1 Modifications and more...

Double jointed elbows and swivling wrists.
  18. Need more parts, and details. Looking good.
  19. Without a doubt, the VF-11B and C are two of Yamato's greatest triumphs. Eventhough, they are a bit expensive, but are totally worth the price.
  20. Holy mother of gawd. The Gnerl is huge! Excellent progress. Hopefully, you can finish this off very soon.
  21. Looks awesome. I'ld like mine unbuilt in the same color scheme.
