I did this repair on JasonC's VF-22 Milia. After removing all the screws, as you pointed out, I stiffed the loose wing connection by adding a thin styrene strip in the area where the wing moves. The increased friction helps keep it in place. (I don't recall the screws being different lengths, sorry.)

Got anything you could post? Might give lurking eyes (we know you read this Yamato) an idea for the next VF-1 re-work.

I can wait for Wave's Monster release... In the meantime, I'll just settle for this Destroid Monster (SD)

Try this page. Holy Moly -
If only they could add more gimmicks with little compromise that would be fantastic. Yamato could rework the 1/48 VF-1 and just need to rework the "low" slung arms in fighter mode, swing bar, and increase poseability at the hips and shoulders. Not really to much to do. After that, they could add more goodies to mix.

MickyG's Yamato VF-1S Unpainted, Unassembled Kit Build

Tamiya version is called a Polishing Compound. -
Could be. Sometimes the yellowing can be caused by a heat source to which the decals were exposed. I've had a few of his sets and have had this issue before (pretty much ruined).
-
I'm sure Yamato can add a ton more detail with a redesigned sculpt and better overall proportions, especially in the larger 1/48 scale. The real question is will they do it. Last I remember, Graham stated, Yamato wanted to continue doing everything in 1/60 scale to have a cohesive toyline. Oh well, here's to hoping and praying that one day it will be done.
-
I'm with you on this. It would be nice to see a completed Yamato 1/48 VF series. If Yamato were to rework the 1/48 to a V.2, I would only be interested in the two seaters and paint variations.

...accidentally touched boob, Hikaru.

That makes complete sense.

I hope your're right. I need more reference data, especially for battroid and GERWALK configurations (paint apps). This has been my most anticipated publication to date.
-
No thank you. Eventhough this is in the manga, it still looks like the horrible customs of the 80's. If Yamato were to make the head slender then it just might work. Other, than that, forget about it.

Thanks, Seto. Here is the a pic you missed in the previous pages of this thread. *Finally got a chance to get to my computer, today.

Other than outright purchases from the military, I wonder what ties these new pilots have to the previous or present characters other Macross series. Nicolas, could be the the pilot of the VF-9. Lastly, who is the pilot of the VF-19A?

All but the 2-seaters are done. Once I'm done with those three, I should be good. Oops, forgot I need the VF-X. Then I should be done. -

These are pretty neat and inexpensive to own. Comes with a nice assortment of add-ons and is very simple to transform. Plus the additional Strike/Super Packs are priced to own. You really can't go wrong with these.

Seeing these race adapted fighters is urging me to do something about it. Just wondering if could someone translate the character sheet for "Magdalena Zielonaska and Nicolas Francoise Berthier". All I'm seeing is VT-1 in the print next to Nicolas. More information is greatly appreciated.

Damn, that canopy turned out crystal clear!! Looks like glass, even. Slow and low is the way to go. -
That goes double for me.

Stopping a non-primed model from flaking...
nightmareB4macross replied to SpaceCowboy's topic in Model kits
Looks good. If you're just handling the model and it flakes off, well I hate to tell you this, but a topcoat of clear will not help. It's missing adhesion between the paint and the plastic surfaces. The only cure would be to start over. Remove all the paint. Clean it. Prime it well. Then repaint it. Live and learn, wether we like it or not, [sometimes] it's the only way.
