I would suggest scratch building with styrene. Using the any existing resin cast seats will basically be the premise to your custom. Also, you can make the build more to your artistic nuances. But if you do wish to use the resin cast seat IMHO I would go with ACES II Ejection seat for the F-15 or F-16 with a combination of the F-18 Hornet Ejection seat. Not exact but I think this combined would definitely fit the bill.

Excellent news, Graham. Yet there is still one more suggestion, IIRC VF5SS, made a comment about making the engines on top of shoulders rotatable to allow better shoulder articulation. Let's hope to getting at least some of these suggestions.

But didn't SDF-M always emphasize the reason the VF-1 was as tall as it was, only to combat aliens of the same size, more or less? It just makes sense to keep the VF-1 the size of the VF-0 rather than shrink it to accomodate smaller engines.

It's amazing of just how tall the VF-17 is in battroid mode, but also high compact a fighter as well. I've always had a strange question about why the VF series started as a large battroid version (VF-0), to a small (VF-1), then to larger scattered sizing of the continued development of all VFs. Would anyone out there know why this is? It just makes no sense at all. Well at least to me, it doesn't.

Great job Mike! Will you be padding a bit more onto the legs, they seem a bit skinny when standing next to the 1/60. But I must say the skinnier legs do make it appear much taller than it is when towering over the 1/48 Fighter.

Does anyone know if the VF-17 will come with option parts to attach the existing fold booster?? And I am not sure, but did Graham state there was or was not going to be a release for the VF-17 fast packs??

Nice pics, PUD333. My VF-19 with Booster has no loose joints to report. But there are a few parts they were never glued or lack glue to keep them in place. Since Yamato, now has the updated ankles for the Blazer why couldn't they issue these updated versions for the Fire??

Like most contributors of this thread have pointed out, there are still collectors who appreciate the 1/48 and continue to collect them. Those of use who still collect these old giants often prefer the size, details, gimmicks, and overall appeal. I would say for the most part, I trully enjoy its' size, that allows for continued modification. I recently picked up a 1/60 V.2 TV Roy VF-1S to compare to my custom 1/48 TV Roy VF-1S. Personally, the 1/48 wins my vote. The only reason I am going to hold on to the 1/60 Roy is that it rounds out a future project I have. It involves Roy, Hikaru & Minmei (in VF-1D), Regult-HDP, and a pulped and bloody Zhentloudhy.

Congratulations. Take care of your lovely gem. I remember fond (or horrific) memories of my first new StrikeValkyrie, I owned back in the eighties. Since I had no idea of what Macross was at the time, I hacked the Armour to make special jet packs and mini-vehicles for my GI Joes. If I only new then of what I know now, I would have kicked myself in the arse for even thinking of taking a screwdriver and "Crazy Glue" to the armour. But hey at least my Joe were happy. Lucky for the valk it only suffered a minor Jetfire-esque paint job, with magic markers and white out. Who could blame me at the time. I was only a kid.

Nice collection rusted180, I especially like the three part sequence of Kakizaky's demise handed down by Miria. If I collected cells, I think I would only collect the death scenes or fallen heros.

Just another way of giving us false hope, ala 1/60 Monster... I'm sure they must have one completely done and lying around somewhere. Just wish they would complete the destroid line already.
