Yup, I think Kevin obtained his stock through Diamond Distributors (thus the cheaper cost) I pre-ordered mine months ago for $99 and with shipping it was like $104 I think (or was it $114) Which still way cheaper than most local or some online stores.

I just recieved my Yamato Scopedog from kevin (aka Valkyrie-exchange.com) and all I can say is.... WOW!!! Let me just start off by saying I never seen a single episode of VOTOMS or have read the manga. Growing up in the 80's I only saw glimpses of the scopedog in model form, the takara ones and the ones x-plus came out with a few years ago (correct me if I'm wrong) I was always intrested in the design and always wanted to pick up the model kits, but when your an adult, who has time to put things together. Til I heard yamato was planning to produce a 1/12 scale toy/model. As soon as kevin had this baby on pre-order I jumped at the chance to finally own a scopedog!! Sure its toy-like and the color's a little bland (I plan on weathering it anyway) But this thing rocks and blows everything else away in my collection (sad to say even my 1/48 VF1j) You seen the pics online and read the reviews but trust me, once you have one in your hands this will be your favourite!! did I mention how big this thing is? Not just in height but it's sheer bulk. It's a head taller the MP Optimus prime and a head shorter than Unicron and Omega Supreme. I cant wait for the accessories to come out, especially the special mission back-packs. Thanks Kevin, Thanks Yamato, Thanks God, Thanks Job (for allowing me to afford this monstrosity) and Thanks for a wife who understands my hobbies. I cant sleep now..Im estatic..feels like christmas.. end of blog

Hey!!! I want that gun barrel!! Where can I get one?!?!?! I finally picked up windcharger and he's all I ever wanted in a alternator The Vechicle alt mode is flawless. It looks great with or without the roof. I was going to wait on the binaltech version but I gave in (hey, Im weak hehehe) As for the robot mode, it has all the things I wanted in an alternator... The waist turns. It has mid-bicep swivels, mid-thigh swivels and very light on the ball joints. (which are concentrated on the wrists and the ankles of the figure) This isnt neccessarily a bad thing. The swivel joints in the shoulders and thighs guarantees no limbs or panels popping off during transformation!! Its also not hollow like most alternators/binaltechs are and has very little "back pack" kibble. The only complaints that I have about the figure are how stiff his knees are. And when you do get them to bend, its limited because the thigh hits the side panels somewhat. His feet, though on ball joints, seem a little floppy and somewhat limited in movement. ( I had trouble transforming his feet/calves because the instructions failed to mention there was a swivel you had to move ) His head sculpt is ok, his face sort of reminds me of Mr. Incredible (must be his chin Lolz) His weapon/sheild looks kind of blah without the barrel, but doesnt distract too much from the overall look to windcharger. With all that being said, WindCharger isnt a bad figure. Its not on top on my list but I like it. Strongly reccomended!!! eagerly awaits the release of Alternators Shockblast/Shockwave!!

Vector prime's gimmicks are mostly electronic sounds, which is fine with me just as long as it doesnt interfere with his posability. Basically (without the chip) you raise his right arm and you hear star trek type photon torpedo sounds. With the chip on it makes some kind of whirring noises like a car having a hard time starting LoLz As for pics of GF starscream..try here.. http://tformers.com/galaxy_force.php I have this figure (starscream) and personally I like it. Some people have issues with the arms being to stubby, but I think its just an illusion because those pods he has attached to his arms are just (rather) large. OR to check out someone else's review on starcream (with pictures) try here.. http://tformers.com/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=509 -

But I guess its ok for a nosecone to be hanging between the crotch of a Battroid? Just pulling your leg. Actually You hardly notice that nosecone in vector prime's back. It almost seems like its part of his cape thingy -

The same way we guys refuse to ask for directions when we're lost!! ( Ofcourse we dont tell our wives or girlfriends that) Happy New Year Y'aLL -
Thats kinda weird, if you guys have read anything about that roswell (UFO) crash during the 50's, it discribes a similar metal found at the crash site that have properties like that. Could it be it was developed using alien technology? Read it here: http://www.roswellproof.com/debris3_misc_metal.html

what? i dont rmeber that? which movie was it in? perhaps it was a director's cut of one of the alien(s) movies? Anyways I got a couple of questons. (people who havent seen this movie please move on) 1.) Do you guys remember when the very 1st pred got offed by the aliens tail? was it just me or did it seem like the alien was cloaked also? or was it because it touched the predator and was some how affected by its claoking feild? (gosh what a nerdy question) 2.) The Queen fell into the frozen depths, do you think weylands company will some how retrieve it? I think it may be still alive, I mean it was frozen for like a hundred years before it was thawed out to lay eggs. This is a prequel to alien isn't it? so I think this gives them fore-knowledge of the existance of the xenomorph. Thats why the crew and the ore of the nostromo were expendable..they wanted it as a bio weapon.. Speaking of which.. do the androids (of the past films) insides sorta remind you of alien guts? Its possible thats where they got the technology to build these androids... after all the xenomorphs (aliens) are bio-mechanical. Umm.. let me stop now cuz you guys are looking at me funny hehehehe...

G o watch it. Nice CGI, though the whole anime isnt like that. The Fight sequences are incredible. You can almost feel the g forces Swappable parts? ewwww... I would expect more from yamato doing something like that... then again they probably rushed this toy out and concentrated on the VB-6 koenig Monster ( which I think is very nice) and other things (the 12" scopedog also looks nice, but from what i've seen from the pics, it doesnt look like they put that much effort into it like they did with tthe valkyries) Here's hoping they get rid of the person who engineered this toy/model OR I can wait til they rehash this toy/model to something yamato valkyries were known for...

omigash!!! Thats Awful!! But I think Im still buying it regardless...

Im trying to do some reverse (visual) engineering based on the photos yamato put out on their site of the VF-0. Looks like the whole nose cone area (along with the cockpit) slides into the chest plate (going into battroid mode). the Black piece behind the cockpit looks like it slides over the canopy of the jet and forms the heat sheild. Looking at Where the battroid hips connect to the nose cone, its possible they used a single swing bar similar to the 1/48's. Is it confirmed that the legs are suppose to be detachable like the 1/60's? or is everyone just speculating at this point?

I just saw AVP and... and.. its not what you guys think. The trailer is misleading, thats all Im gonna say... and oh..I liked it so much IM gonna see it again Its really up to you guys if you want to see it or not. but the only way to see if it "really sucks" is to go see it for yourself... its kinda slow in the beginning but it picks up. so please dont leave the theatre.. 'nuff sed. peace! and to those riding out this storm down south..you guys be careful and God speed.

NEW(ER) AVP (Aliens versus Predator) Trailer.
holytoledo69 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just got my predator figures in the mail. Particularly "Scar" and the "celtic" predators from Alien Vs. Predator. All I can say its nicely detailed and multi-posable(?). My gripe is..What is it with McFarlane toys and their Quality Control? My Celtic predator has his Left hip fused to the supposedly movable joint. I dont know if its just me or I keep winning the Mcfarlane broken joint lottery, because I've gotten figures from Mcfarlane before with "fused" joints like these. ( and their were supposed to be movable) Freezing it just breaks the joint entirely, heating it up with a hair drier might do the trick. I often have to pluck detailed pieces out of mcfarlane figures and re-glue them back cause theyre put on lop sided. It seemed like the figure was rushed out of the factory. Also it looks like they used the same body mold from the predator 2 figures with newly molded forearms and calves. I've got a long night tonight playing toy doctor!! lemme see, where's my blow drier, super glue, x-acto knife and... hehehe..you get my point. Good luck to all of you trying to pick up these figures. Theyre available in amazon.com and towerrecords.com, but I havent seen them localy in any store. I dont know about the alien figures, but the predators definitely lose this round. -
I just started watching MACRoSs Zero and IT ROCKS!!! IM up to epiSode 3. Im begining to wonder if NOra is really a micronized zentraedi hehehehe.. maybe part of an advance scout or a survivor of the crashed alien ship? Her hair is kinda blue aint it? I love the CG and the animation combo. The battle scenes rendered remind me of Beastwars/Beast Machines CGI.. nice , smooth and crisp! Its nice to see where roy gets his fighting experience from too. Those non-protoculture powered VF-0 are excellent. How come they look more advanced than the VF-1's though? It reminds me of "enterprise" on how theyre more advanced looking than captain kirks era... oops im showing my age hehehe.

holytoledo69 replied to zeo-mare's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
i was so excited to hear about these.. then i saw one up close..they're...SMALL!! the sculpts are alright. very poseable. but the size and the price bothers me a bit. then again anything coming from japan is pricey. Still, im thinking about picking up a few. they'll run you anywhere from $25-$30. go to www.bigbadtoystore.com or www.imageanime.com -
I kinda like the battroid mode.. then again..thats my opinion

I keep wondering why they keep pushing the release date on this thing. It makes me feel like canceling my pre-order all together and buying me a fast pack for my 1/48 instead. Read it and weep..but patience is a virtue..hehehe.. I hope they dont disappoint. http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=TN3110

I found a couple of websites that may help some of you weather and do paneling lines "professionally" With a little time and effort, you can make your valks look battle worn and realistic instead of that "off the factory" look. http://hem.bredband.net/thomaskolb/art/models/weather_e.htm http://www.warbirdsinscale.com/weathering.htm The pictures in the sites arent valks but you can use the same applications to repaint it. Good luck and happy modellng!!
