Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
protostar8 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
But to be fair, I think that's how it looks in the anime too, so they did it correctly, though I personally don't like the show. Bandai "A" game should really always go back to Gundam. They make some very nice Gundam stuff. -

Although, that may be a good thing. When a company diversifies its resources, then the quality drops. If they focus all their attention on the 1/100's and models, we may start getting some righteous stuff (but apparently the models already are really good)... -

Sorry, but none of them made a Beta (well, there was the uber expensive Gakken one that's uber rare too). Toynami has an "iffy" Beta that might not ever really be released. Bandai has three versions of the same thing. Monopolizing the market to say the least. The only issue is that the toy is the most expensive, worst looking one. It's only saving grace would be INCREDIBLE QC. Nothing short of that will even come close to making it worth the Yamato price tag. -

Any suggestions on Skull Leader Forever EX mission? Miryia kills me every time in the second part fairly quickly and Max's special sucks. -

Yeah, but what alternatives do people have??? With CM's, there is pretty much only theirs. With the VF-25, there are 3 versions to choose from. CM made choices to intentionally change the design. Bandai I don't believe did that. They just made sacrifices. -

Can't be only 2-3 people that took pics of these. Anyone find other sites that show the signs clearly? -

I think that Grimlock is overpriced at 13650Yen. Part of the high cost of other Masterpieces (first release of the molds anyway) was the engineering cost. He's pretty damn simple, so even if the size will be larger, the money saved on engineering should offset that increase. But they know that dino freaks will pay out the ass for him, so he's been overpriced. -

Nope, the screen is pretty decent already. It might be some nicer, but all it really sports is a brighter screen, but again, I have had zero problems with mine on the brightest setting. Also, if nobody else posts one, I'll throw up my save file once I unlock everything. Might be a week or two though. -

I use a psp 1000 and I haven't had the problem with turning the wifi off. I only have issues with bumping it on and not realizing it. And at least the psp only "sleeps" when you bump the power button. Thankfully you have to hold it for several seconds to actually cut it off. -

Don't feel bad, if this was a GB game, you'd be getting S or SS for most levels that you get an A, sometimes a B on. This game has some weird score requirements that I hope they leave out for any sequels. And most of my S and SS come from the YF-21 trick. -

My thought was almost the same, until I thought about the possibility that it's on a little peg and person didn't use any force to stick it in, and it just slid off the hole while on the ground. I have had something similar happen before. -

Okay, to release the era lock on VF's, I had to do all the enemy missions too. After that, it let me select fighters from any era for any mission. -

Any mention of production order (which fighters and when) or if there will be armor for these? I doubt the little cards say much, but maybe a booth person might have??? -

No offense buddy, but you think they aren't making a freaking killing at that price??? Look at Masterpiece Starscream (while I don't like it that much), it is a very well engineered, pretty sturdy toy. It only costs $100 (or at least it did at release). The US version only cost $75. Yamato used to make valks of similar quality and sell them around $100 (and they came with armor at that price point). So the toy is overpriced. Toy companies now-a-day charge a very high premium. I'd wager that each of these costs Bandai no more than $30 with engineering factored in to the charge per piece produced. Hell, Transformers are too cheap and have too good of engineering for anyone to say that something like this is acceptable at the price they are charging (Just using TF's as a reference b/c they have very good quality and fairly low price for all except re-issues and customs). -

I think the main problem is the price. For that price, a higher quality item is to be expected. It isn't anime accurate, it looks "chunky", none of the modes look great, and it's expensive. That's a combination for failure in my opinion. I think they should be marketing these for around $60-70 standard and maybe $70-80 with Fast Packs/Armor. Heck, they could have just scaled up the models, which look great and only cost about $50. So a smaller, cheaper version looks better than the larger (which should mean they can tool it better), more expensive version. That shouldn't happen. I'll just wait for a model with armor/fast packs (hopefully Michel's b/c I love that sniper rifle and blue color scheme). -

Wish granted...I think... http://www.geocities.jp/toybu0210/EVENT/MA...SSyokohama.html If you look close, you can see that it is "stand", not "and". Disappointing. But lots of other cool stuff on that page, including some armor shots in one pic! Though I think it's the DX not the 1/100 that has the armor. -

Okay. I haven't finished the training missions yet. I bet that's it... Edit: That wasn't it...I guess I'll try the enemies missions when I have time and see if that is the problem... -

Weird...Do you have to play the "enemy" missions too to release the era limiter? I have beaten all four normal era's and some EX missions and I still can only select VF's from their respective era's. Maybe when I beat each I should have saved over the file's when it asked me to save instead of saving each into a new slot on the memory card??? -

Honestly, I don't think the parts swapping makes it looks significantly better than the 1/60 and certainly not as good as the 1/72 model. Therefore, I don't think the parts swapping can be justified IMO any longer... -

Okay, so what does pressing down on the thumbstick do when at the hangar mission select? I can't figure out how to get the "era" lock turned off so I can use the fighters from any era. Thanks for any help in advance. -
1990 Super Deform DYRL Max plastic kit by Bandai
protostar8 replied to AcroRay's topic in Model kits
I have some of the very cheap knock-off kits. Don't look exactly the same, but they are pretty decent SD kits, just in horrible colors and made w/ cheap plastic, but for $5 each, I couldn't complain when I got them. -

Okay. For everyone saying beams are useless, I think you may not be using them correctly. One thing I haven't seen mentioned by people about controls is that for beam weapons, if you hold the square button down, it will begin to "lead" the target and pretty much become a guaranteed hit w/ the exceptions of bosses and a couple of enemies. I think beam weapons can be a devastating weapon (and can easily "break" the game if used correctly). That's how you can basically beat GBU if you use something like that. I've found it to work fairly well here too.
