Does anyone else think the 1/100 Armored Ozma kinda looks like an R-type fighter in that pic? -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3

I agree. Buy a Luca for normal b/c it looks good with just the radar dish and ghosts around it. Do a Super Michael b/c it looks nice with the color scheme and super parts. And lastly, Armored Ozma b/c it just looks bad-ass... -
Looks more like Armored Core than EVA...

Nope. I mean action figures. I've even strongly considered getting one of those resin kits of Jehuty (since it only costs about $60 for a nice recast) and trying to add balljoints from Revoltech to one since they are the same size if I recall correctly. I always figured the Revoltech line would just make a carbon copy of the resin models with Revoltech joints in place...

I still don't get how no company has made a toy of these bots. Especially Revoltech...

Oh yeah!!! Bring it on man!!! I still want a damn Jehuty toy too! Too bad the only thing even close is that resin kit that I'd have to paint (and I'm not a great painter)...

Did anyone ever get any of these: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10075477 I'd love to get a Kaname and Teletha, but I don't know if I want to spend that much for just them...(even evilbay turns up nothin, so I'd really just have to buy a whole set unless somebody is selling them individually)

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.3

Thanks for posting some pics of yours. Mine looked "busy" with the Super Parts on it, so I removed them and they are awaiting Michael to arrive. Something about the radar dish just makes it look like too much is going on and I just didn't like it as much. Glad yours turned out well though! -

Dragon Ball movie rescued from dev hell?
protostar8 replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can't believe Cartoon Network actually endorsed this movie and made it sound like it was the anime brought to life....big mistake CN, big mistake... -
Gotta say I love One Piece. That is my favorite ever. Funny, well developed characters. Lots of tie ins to old episodes, so everything has this universal connection. Also, it has lots of HAPPY ending type moments. I'm so sick of animes having to be "dramatic" or have that unhappy ending. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a close second. Might have a shot at my favorite ever, but there were parts that were just boring and didn't fit with the story in my opinion. Detective Conan is pretty high on my favorites list too. Gotta like murder mysteries and an odd but good main arc plot.

If you want closure, read the manga. The ending is less open ended in my opinion. But yeah, the anime is incredible.

Wow, just got done trying to water slide decal the top half of one ghost....won't be doing that for the others. I ******** hate water slide decals! They ripped and keep coming off. I can say it took me way longer than expected and I uttered more than a few choice expletives during the process. Ugh, why didn't it just come with stickers instead...

So, anyone got a price on that toy? (or at least a good ballpark figure)
-
Well, I think you might be happier with a Super Alto and a nekkid Luca. Honestly, I don't like the super parts too much on the Luca. It makes it look too busy b/c of the Radar dish. I plan to post some pictures of my Luca in a few days with and without armor (in Fighter mode) and maybe a few pics of the ghosts and battroid mode.

Okay. So I looked into how to properly apply the decals and I can do a fair job, but the "round" area ones like on the radar dish don't seem to work well. It really seems like they are not made properly and seem a little to small to cover the area intended. Anyone else notice any trouble with the Luca decals?

Just an update. IF YOU ARE BUILDING THE LUCA KIT.... I took the advice and used a sharpie substitute (Bic Mark*it Yellow Blaze) and it works great for the Luca cockpit coloring. Just coloring the inside worked very well. Also worked out great on the little piece right in front of the cockpit. The Gundam GM02 pen for panel lines also works fairly well. An eraser takes off the excess with ease. Just gotta learn to use the right amount of pressure. I actually cut one up into different sizes/shapes that seem to help, thought keeping it square works best. Sanding with 600grit sandpaper (wet), then 2000grit sandpaper (wet), and buffing with a sock (sometimes with a little toothpaste too if the shine doesn't come back all the way with just the sock) makes the parts nice and shiny again where the sprues were. That's after I use snippers to clip the parts from the sprue tree and then use an exacto knife to clean the part up. Eventhough I've only built the nose of the plane, I gotta say I'm very impressed with the kit. I'm sure I'll be happy once it's built (and I get to built 3 ghosts to boot!)
