    Thanks for the quick answers . What bug me the most is the fact that only Basara and Ray seem to live there and seeing the conditions Inside the thing, it looks like their building could be destroyed any time.

    Currently rewatching 7 and just asked myself something for the first time. What is the deal with the place Basara and Ray live in ? It's not registrated as part of City 7 ? Is it outside the shel ?Why is the whole place half destroyed ?

    From what i can remember, the original version of the first episode released in late 2007 was the deculture edtion. The regular 2008 broadcast version had a few scene missings and a few new ones. Yack Deculture is the merging of the two versions, resulting in the most complete episode 1.

    It is a bit more complicated that i first thought. The way the épisodes are organised is a bit weird, for exemple, in the second disk (Ep 5 to 11), you have : 1.mpls which has all episodes (5 to 11) back to back (for play all) 3.mpls which is Ep07 standalone 4.mpls which is Ep09 standalone 5.mpls which is Ep10 standalone. Episodes 5 6 8 and 11 are only available in the 1.mpls all episodes file. I think this is because only episodes with commentaries have their own file. But due to that, you have to manually resync the subtitle for the episodes who does not have its own file (because episode 6 starts at 24 min in the 1.mpls file for exemple). Moreover, even when you do that, it's not perfect, most episode are fine but some have delays. I have made a first version for disk 1 and 2 which is attached. Subtitles for all episodes except 1TV and 1Deculture are from thora. Perfect sync : Ep1 Deculture /First half of Ep1 TV/Ep2/Ep3/Ep4/Ep5/Ep6/Ep8/Ep9/Ep11 Still some minor delay to fix : Second half of Ep1 TV/ Ep1 Perfect Deculture/Ep7/Ep10 Macross_FrontierBD1and2sub.zip

    Yes, i do but thank you for telling me just in case. I'll try loading existing subs with the set. Hopefully they will work and be sync if the episodes running time are the same. Else i'll just have to wait until someone sub the new version, which i think will happen eventually.

    Thanks, i preordered it with Ami Ami. I also bought the Macross Frontier BD box at the same time and now that i have started, i have a urge to complete the collection in time.

    Having never ordered anything from japan, i have a few questions. Should i preorder now ? Sicne it's written limited, i Wonder if all will be preordered within days. Also, does cdjapan charge on order or only when it's sent ? Thanks in advance

    Some of those early idea are explained in the french dvd release staff interview. It was quite interesting. From what i can remember, the 3 zentradi spy kidnapped the captain by luring it in a phone booth with panties. Then he somehow escaped and was famous for a while but since it faded quickly, the captain spend the rest of the show trying to get himself captured again.

    .I wasn't sure where to post this, but watching the bonus on the french SDFM dvd set (which i never did before, not usually a fan of bonus material^^), i noticed there was a very interesting interview with shoji kawamori and the rest of the staff. They explain how the story evolved as the show aired and many of their unused ideas : Global being adbucted twice by the zentradi trio Hikaru and Misa's windows being in front of each other, and them talking to each other at night (they actually imply it may still be that way in the actual show, just never shown) the fold engine's destruction creating a "portal" to other parts of the ship how the supervision army was supposed to arrive and save the day before the show was reduced to 27 episodes. A lot of interesting things i had never read anywhere in English before, but maybe i missed it Has anyone heard about all of that before ?

    Well, i should have said, "nothing was developed". It went so fast on every topic that in the end, i had the impression we had no real answer at all. I would have liked to have one episode to end the presidential conspiracy and the fleet reunification for intance, rather than have it just happen like that.

    I agree about who the varja were, aimo explanation and the explanation about grace, but it isn't much for a final. The birdman connection was "explained" in 3 seconds. Only batle galaxy has been shown, the rest is still MIA. Leon was also brought down in less than 10s, he didn't even say a word. And bilra was waiting for minmay, which has nothing to do with this serie's plot.

    I'm really disappointed with this ending, it felt way too rushed. In the end, not much is resolved. We heard a lot a songs but never one fully, they are always cut after a few seconds. And almost nothing happened in the episode, just a very long battle. I preferred original and seven's ending.

    European bluray are 1080p24 too and european HDTV have to accept at least 50/60hz so there can be no problem with different region HDTV.

    Indeed, the re-release date made me got it all wrong. I found it in the timeline at September 2046 EDIT: this is an even stranger thing: 2016 July Les communications du Megaroad-01 cessent près du centre de la Voie lactée. (Les informations sur ce vaisseau ne sont pas publiées, il se serait approché d’un trou noir d’où aurait été émis de la musique). Communication from Megaroad01 ceased while it was near the center of the milky way. (It's not announced to general public but it is believed he would have come close to a black hole from where music was heard). Music in a black hole ? lol

A cold war begin betweens worlds but cultural exchange still takes place. Interesting if true.

    I didn't see it ar first, but even before 2050, there are added lines. The macross 7 settles on a planet in Febuary 2048, and become an independant colony in April :s .

    I have found on the french wikipedia a version of the macross timeline which include a lot of post 2050 dates that i have not found on any other timeline. timeline Does someone know where it come from ? For exemple : 2057 June In macross 7 street's convert appear ReaVe for the first time alongside Veffidas Feaze. August Tension rise between UNG and colonised world. October Fire Bomber reforms with 2 new members : ReaVe and Celia under a new name : New Noboru. Fans of the Basara/Mylene generation are waiting for them to return. Firing bomber only get back 30% of their original audience at their "Revival Live" concert. November New Fire Bomber maxi single (Remember 16) ranked 197 at Silver con. Only released on macross 7 & 11. 20XX (To be confirmed) UNG dissolved, replaced by New United Nations Government. 2059 Frontier episode 1.... I've never seen any of that stuff before :s .

    When i said i hated it, it was maybe too much. I mean, i hated it because i was looking forward to a new macross, and to me, it wasn't a macross so i was very disappointed. If it had been outside the macross universe and if i had seen it without expecting a macross, i could have enjoyed it for what it was. In the end, all comes to what is macross for you, and it can be very different things. To me macross isn't about valkyries or mechas, it's just a background (or i would say, to have mecha is a way to have the serie greenlight.) In the same way, i love gundam (especially uc) but couldn't care less about mobile suits. I would prefer those series with less fight and more dialog/character interactions. (0080 is my favorite gundam).

    I's say, for me, the two best macross are le original and seven, i do not prefer one over the other. I loved the first one since i saw it as robotech, and macross seven really felt like a true continuation of that serie, taking things to the next level and finally finishing the left-open story of sdfm. Then i liked macross zero and macross 2 a little less but they were enjoyable. Macross zero has great animation and helped bridge the sdfm-era with the late macross universe era. I hate macross plus, it was the second macross i watched, and i never plan to watch it again. It didn't felt macross at all to me. You could have it happen in whataver scifi universe you wish and it would still work.
