1. Very cute idea, but I don't think many of us are knowledgable in the realm of anime, with the exception of sci-fi anime. I know that I was completely stumped! Btw, you're pretty good with the pencil, keep it up!
2. My money's on a 1/60 spud pilot.
3. I agree with haterist on this one. The last two orders I've gotten from HLJ came in boxes that fit my toys like stretch pants do to hot legs of a girl. Basically, there was no padding since there simply wasn't room for any. So any blows that came to the shipping box were also evident in the toy's actual box. The toys itself were fine, but the boxes definitely has some dents and creases. I didn't bother contacting HLJ since I figured they've give me the big FU (which they apparently did to haterist).
4. Woohoo, rebirth of the CHUNKY MUNKEY!!!! Yes, for some reason, the proportions of the VF-0S remind me of our beloved 1/55 chunky munkeys Best off, it looks like a chunky with the posability of the 1/48, minus the swingbar, woo! Even the gunpod looks chunky!
5. How's this supposed to work? Whenever I'm lagging, sure it's hard for others to hit me, but it's damn near impossible for me to hit them too. If I'm lagging, what I do is throw grenades in someone's general direction and pray. edit: oh yeah, I'm using a Linksys wireless router (though the xboxes are using cat5 to the router) and have never had any problems with it.
6. That's incredible!! Do you have a higher res picture?
7. All are plastic. Even the 2nd ed is plastic. Only DYRL pilot that is rubber is the Hikaru 1S. 335282 I was under the assumption that the 2nd edition Roy had a rubber pilot, thanks for the correction.
8. Let's not forget way back before the PS2 launch, the Final Fantasy VIII demo? It was running on some SGI machines, yet was hooked up to a PS2 controller so the camera could be controlled in real time. Sony claimed it was running on actual PS2 hardware. 335313 Silly me, I remember seeing that FFVIII demo years ago and thinking it was running on PS2 hardware. I think I may have a copy of that demo somewhere, gonna have to watch it again now
9. Does the 4th edition Roy come with a plastic or rubber pilot? So far the 1st and 3rd editions had plastic pilots, whereas the 2nd edition had rubber pilots. Weird that Yamato went the extra mile with the 2nd edition and not the others. I wonder how it's production differed from later versions.
10. Awesome work Patt. Nice to know CMS threw us a bone by having Max in a relatively solid piece. If I manage to get a Max, I'll try to scan the box image and make a comparison.
11. If you're looking for an easier way to discover the Max chase, are there any distinguishing noises the box makes when you rattle it? For example, with CMS series 2 it was easy to locate the chase cockpit since it was sold as a solid piece and literally made a "thunk" when you shook the box. Does the chase Max come pre-assembled or is he broken up like the rest of the figures. Also, there may be a slight differation in the box. When I say slight, I mean a single pixel that is off. I work part time at a videogame/hobby store and our regulars pointed out with Yugioh packs, you can tell which packs have holos in them because somthing as miniscule as a pixel is off. Works every time for them.
12. Holy crap, a life size mecha that ISN'T a Gundam!!!
13. I agree, MJW's role didn't exactly require an oscar-calibre actress, but I still believe the best actress for the role was Alicia Witt. As far as performance, her abilities are on par with Kirsten Dunst's. But when it comes to looks, she most closely resembles the MJW of the 80's and 90's (recent comics make her look like she's 15, probably some lame marketing ploy). Dunst just doesn't look like any incarnation of MJW, nor does she carry any of her charisma. Bad casting, justifiable in that Dunst happened to be an "it" girl when the movie was being made.
14. Actually, in the battroid lineart, the area where the airbrake normally goes is pretty slim. But in fighter mode, it's longer. Goold ol' anime magic at work again! Anyways no complaints here, I prefer the way Cap went as it looks more realistic to me.
15. There are exceptions to this rule. IIRC, the official Flashback 2012 DVD is all-region.
16. Check out the link CF18 posted, DYRL Max definitely has a helmet. But Isamu doesn't seem to have one. Kinda sucks, but when he did that specific pose in the OAV/Movie, he wasn't wearing his helmet. Either that, or CMS just got lazy.
17. Interesting, it appears both Max figures will be packed as solid figures, not seperated into smaller pieces like the rest?
18. If that were Kakizaki, he'd be a whole lot wider
19. Put me down for one pigmented set.
20. Sweeeeeettt!!!! 300 dpi is plenty, hope you have plenty of bandwidth
21. so yeah.... that's about it?
22. Is there any difference on the box between the reissue and the original? Just like to know so that if I see any on ebay, I'll know how to tell them apart.
23. Now I'm curious, how did they change the U.S. opening? 323217 They didn't. Like I said before, it's the exact same demo that came with DYRL for the PSX.
24. I heard that that Konig Monster was reissued by Yamato, is this true? If so, how does one tell apart the reissue from the original?
25. Actually, it's Kinryu's VF-17S (up to that point, Gamlin only had a VF-17D). At the time, Kinryu was laid up in the hospital, making his VF-17S perfect pickings for Milia's machinations.
