Hikaru's TV "J" with TV armor. The armor is a greenish color as opposed to the navy blue DYRL armor. The arm armor is also different and doesn't hold the gunpod very well. That is the only drawback to the TV armor. No. "J" Together. You can also buy Hikaru's TV "J" without the armor. Not me That's the average price on ebay.

I wouldn't mind seeing a redone VF-1 1/60, but it had better be the last VF Yamato produces. Meaning, I want to see a 1/60 VF-4, VF-11, VF-5000, etc before Yamato releases it. There are so many more Macross toys that deserve to be made before this one, and if Yamato releases it so soon after the original line was discontinued may leave a bad taste in the mouths of some fans.
-
It depends on the type of VF it is. I'm unimaginative, I usually follow whatever the lineart goes by.

Lotsa goodies Rumor has it that GameStop will be getting a preorder gift, but it's just going to be an 8-bit Simon Belmont figure. Supposedly they're not going to advertise it, you have to preorder and they'll give it to you when you pick up. I've seen that uglyass figure on ebay and it's definitely not worth advertising.

Me! But I'm a little disappointed that there won't be a preorder giftset version like there was with Portrait of Ruin. I may end up getting the Japanese version just for its giftset.

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition
TheLoneWolf replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
This is usually a sign that the GPU is about to go belly-up. You can try the X-clamp method or send it back to MS if your 1 yr warranty is still good. You can also try resetting the display settings to its factory defaults by holding the "Y" button and right-trigger down during the startup. Or, if you're very lucky, it's just a bad cable. Borrow a friends cable and try your 360 on another tv set. -

Yes, the 360 will output video from the HDMI cable and output audio from optical cable simultaneously if both are plugged in. But the problem is that both cables won't physically fit when plugged into the back of the 360. You can buy a specialized cable from MS for an extra $49.99, or... http://www.chadledford.com/?p=50 -
No. If anything, the non-Fast Pack 1/60 VF-1's have actually depreciated over time.

After losing Shin he became a destroid pilot.

If only it were that easy. The actual plan was to include a new set of legs, arms, and backpack since all those pieces need holes in them to attach the super armor. And like jenius said, the legs would have had to have been specific for Hikaru, Max, and the CF. The CF that was released had holes for the armor, but the holes weren't aligned properly so you had to stress the armor to get it attach. I'm not sure why Yamato cancelled these, but I'd imagine Yamato didn't want to confuse fans any further, the cost for all these parts, and the then lukewarm market for Valkyries. Don't forget, at this time the market was flooded with Yamato 1/60's, Bandai 1/55's, Banprestos VF's, and Toynami's MPC's.
-
The GBP armor shown above will fit vintage and reissue 1/55's. The super armor, though, is a different story.

If there are space monsters, I completely agree that they'll be written off as some sort of bioweapon (just like AFOS and the Evil series), but that still makes for kitschy villians in my opinion.

1/48 VF-1J Super Valk Millia and Max reissues on HLJ
TheLoneWolf replied to Briareos's topic in Toys
HLJ's got reasonable prices and their customer service is actually pretty darn good. But, like you said, they process orders at an ungodly pace. Most of my past orders took between 7 - 9 days just to leave the warehouse. I didn't mind the wait, but I stopped using HLJ when they began forcing all my 1/48's (even individual 1/48's) to ship out via EMS. Again, I don't mind waiting so I was perfectly content with the slower but cheaper SAL shipping services. HLJ said that 1/48's don't fit the SAL size/weight restrictions, but I've ordered even larger items from Japan through SAL with no problems at all. Maybe they're misinterpreting the SAL restrictions or just playing it safe, either way I've never shopped with them again. -
Not gonna happen. Expect to see more SPACE MONSTERS!!

Just checked the guidebook and there's no lineart the bridge. There is a small screencap of that same scene from the intro, but it's so small it's not worth scanning. Sorry.
-
I have the Saturn DYRL guidebook, I'll check to see if it's got lineart from the bridge when I get home.

Appreciate the trust. But if you ever want to see the storyboards for DYRL then pick up the Do You Remember Love? Story Board and Dialogue book. The Flashback footage that was added onto DYRL in the 1992 Perfect Edition release is 98% accurate to what the storyboards originally called for, right down to the closing pan shot of the SDF-1. The only differences are Minmay's stage costume and a shot of Hikaru and Misa sitting in the audience.
-
According to the MacrossNexus, Misa is a Commander in the TV series and Captain in the movie. Mechamaniac & Hurin use the actual UN Spacy rank symbols on their forums so they can tell you what the ranks should look like.
-
They only added in what the original DYRL storyboards called for.

The Xbox 360 Thread Elite Edition
TheLoneWolf replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That's the truth. I picked up Halo 3 for the online play, not for the single player campaign or the graphics really. But I still decided to give the campaign a shot, after the first two levels it was the clear to me that the dialogue and story were worse than H2's so I just quit and went online. The multiplayer looks to be very promising with all the new vehicles and gadgets such as the overshield drain and flotation devices, I can't wait to see how we'll manage to use these in CTF and BTB. I may come back for the unlockables, but that depends on whether the unlockables are really worth 4 - 5 hours of my time. I haven't play GOW online yet, but I hear it's really laggy along with people cheating. -
Here's a pic of Jarrod's 1/100 models, the VF-11B is noticably smaller than than the VF-19S. That's what I get for relying on the animation
-
I personally didn't care for Macross Zero, so it doesn't matter to me if they make a movie version of it.
-
Misa sitting on a VF-1 cockpit, it's such an obvious idea I'm surprised nobody ever thought of it before. Good stuff, Ryuji! Do you think it would be possible to do it in 1/6 scale so that it could be in scale with your Minmay and Komilia models?

That probably explains why there's no 5.1 in this new set. Converting an entire television series to 5.1 is probably an expensive process that takes up a lot of time and most of BV's Japanese customers don't have the setup necessary to take advantage of it. But in the case of a new TV series it's probably easier to use 5.1 from the get-go. I wonder if BV licensed Animeigo's SDF Macross masters from Harmony Gold, or are they going to reinvent the wheel and remaster the video themselves. Animeigo did a good job on their release so it'll be an interesting comparison if BV plows ahead with their own.

Good point, just checked and the VF-19 Kai is approximately 2.5 meters taller than the 11B
