Thanks for the pics, but could you go into detail about what makes them great? From the pictures shown, the sculpt is average and posability appears to be slightly above average.

The Ultimate Filipino ROBOTECH Merchandise Thread
TheLoneWolf replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Shouldn't this thread just be called "The Ultimate Matchbox ROBOTECH Merchandise Thread?" Where are the Filipinos? -
1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

I'm also there with you. If the rainbow canopy is official (and not a badly cast prototype), then I'd have to say that it looks like crap. While the DYRL VF's featured a HUD on the canopy, it was positioned only in the front portion of the canopy and didn't create an rainbow effect that enveloped the entire canopy. And, as I said before, attaching the nosecone to the forearm is a neat gimmick, but nothing to get excited about. Unlike the double-jointed knees, which are a very useful and cool feature. -
Official 1/60 YF-21 News & Picture Thread (ver.2)
TheLoneWolf replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks for clarifying this. I noticed the small feet in the early ads and was surprised that no one had yet mentioned how they balance in battroid mode. -
It's been a while since I watched it, but I think the theme song was still in Japanese. If it was sung in English, I'm pretty sure it would've been as memorable as the English Macross theme song. I heard that the Mospeada "TV pilot" was just a test run for Harmony Gold's dubbing capabilities. That would explain why the they never bothered to compose English lyrics for the opening theme.

***looks at Justin Chatwin's Goku haircut*** If this movie does good, 80's hairstyles will be back in full force. -

Neat gimmick. That's about all I can say. -
I just did a quick search on Yahoo Japan and unfortunately I couldn't find any of those. As a limited edition kit, it's safe to say that it's worth more than its generic counterpart, but how much more is anyone's guess. No doubt these were valuable kits 10 years ago, but Hasegawa's entrance to modeling scene has shaken up the marketplace quite a bit. You're on! PM me your email address so that I can send them on over. I'm planning on scanning them one chapter at a time to spare me (and my scanner) a massive headache. And take all the time that you need, I can't argue with a free translation.

I got White Reminiscences if you're still interested in translating it. It's got 5 chapters with each chapter ranging from 15 pages to a whopping 30 pages long. The pages contain vertical kanji. But if you don't want to, that's cool. It's illustrated with enough beautiful Mikimoto artwork to keep my happy.

Even though that Max & Milia picture is fanwork, it's still worth every penny paid. Here's the complete picture, it was taken from a card. At least I think it's the complete picture! If it exists in a magazine, then I don't know which one it's in, sorry.

The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition
TheLoneWolf replied to Gaijin's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm still waiting for the multimedia software that was supposed to come with the PS2 hard drive. -
I'm no expert in this field, but I believe that even if you do somehow mod your PAL PS3 to play Region A discs, you're going to need a TV set capable of displaying an NTSC signal. Or, you're going to need a converter to convert the NTSC signal to PAL. Anyone know for sure?

If the Tomahawk included a ground crew and 1/4 of a hangar bay diorama (with the remaining 3 parts included with the other 3 Destroids) that would wholly justify (in my mind) the $93 pricetag.
-
9,800 円 = $93.00 At that price I'll stick with my Matchbox Destroids, they were approximately 1/60 too. Or just wait for these to go on clearance.

Unless the seller is trying to pass off a bootleg as an official item or deliberately mislead the public, I'd leave it alone. In this case, the seller's description is accurate and nothing is amiss. On ebay, sometimes the buyer gets a good deal and sometimes the seller gets a good deal.

It's in this box set. For more details look up Macross Plus Box Set 2 here. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/video/_video_dvd.htm

You're absolutely right, I completely forget there were English credits on the R2! I just checked and my ear didn't fail me, Anne Sherman did reprise the role of Sharon for this release. And, according to the credits, she's the only holdover from the original English cast, the rest are all new. And here's another bit of trivia: David Hayter is credited as a VA on the R2 English dub. Unfortunately it doesn't list which character he voiced, but it sounds like he was Isamu in this version.

Excellent work, I like the new updates! But you forgot to add Nastasha's VF to the Macross II section. I rewatched MII again and in episode 6 it turns out her VF is the one pictured on that Viz cover I posted a while back. The chest stripe matches the animation, but as you said, the leg stripe is up in the air since her VF is only shown with the SAP armor. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/mo...-1204819319.jpg

Very true, corporate competition is to the benefit of customers. I can't speak for everybody, but these GN-U's lose part of their luster because I already have the transformable versions. Yes, I realize the sculpt and posability beat the older ones, but the fact remains that I still have a larger version already in my collection. However, I would be very tempted to open my wallet if Yamato used the GN-U line to release VF's that have never been released in toy form before, such as the VF-4, VF-9, VF-0D et al.

The Hikaru 1J looks like it's the 2001 reissue being used for display purposes. I can't see the slot on the canopy that allows it to be popped off like the rest of the reissues. Can't tell with Focker because it's in battroid mode.

lol! You forgot the tired and old "Don't complain about it unless you can do better."
-
Argh! The shoulders still aren't tampo printed!

Now that'd be a podcast I'd listen to.
