Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
TheLoneWolf replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
LOL! Here's a picture of a 1/100 VF-19 and 1/100 VF-11. The 11 is noticably smaller than the 19. Kawamori will probably bring it closer in height to the 19. Alas, all those old VF-11 model kits will now be off scale. -
As long as Yamato doesn't screw it up with a rainbow canopy and $300 pricetag, then hells yes!

Super Dimension Century Orguss
TheLoneWolf replied to Kronnang Dunn's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks for the info, did they include any new animation? -

Regrettably those have never been released on DVD or even LD. What exactly is on those tapes anyways? Is it to Orguss what Macross Mech Graffiti was to Macross? -
LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)

Graham has already addressed the issue. It's really easy to place all of the blame on one party, isn't it? -
LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
TheLoneWolf replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can't find a link to the original Japanese court ruling, but IIRC, the court ruled that "derivatives" extended only to SDF and DYRL. If the court ruled that derivatives extended to Macross Plus, then I'm surprised that Harmony Gold hasn't capitalized on the Plus franchise through the use of comics and other merchandise. I can't speak for Yamato, while they probably realize that they could challenge Harmony Gold, they'd rather avoid a potentially costly litigation process. Again, if Harmony Gold has the rights to Macross Plus, then why haven't they released a single Macross Plus product? No, but we could obtain Yamato toys at a much lower price. -
Dude, I was joking. Couldn't you tell with the " " affixed at the end? Vintage Strike armor will not fit on reissues because of the forearm differences, therefore it makes sense that Bandai had to dig out a vintage 1/55 to attach the vintage Strike armor to.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)
TheLoneWolf replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Also, you should ask Kevin from Valkyrie-Exchange if still has the letter that Harmony Gold sent him in 2002 demanding that he immediately stop selling any and all Macross toys. It's not if your company actually owns the intellectual property. But it was deceitful and wreckless for Harmony Gold to "protect" Macross Plus when they clearly did not have the rights to that property. -
Wouldn't it be hilarious if Bandai reissued the Strike Armor, except that you're forced to purchase a reissue of the fugly 1990 VF-1S in order to get it?

Fly4victory, thanks for posting those pictures. I'm amazed at how well the GN-U can balance itself, those one-foot poses are a technical feat. If you have the time, can you see if the GN-U's can match the action poses from that Kaiyodo ad?
-
I keep hearing that the GN-U's posability rivals the Revoltechs, but no one is posting any pictures to back up that claim. So far all the GN-U poses shown have been underwhelming, even the poses shown with that custom Japanese stand haven't been that impressive. Whether the GN-U can outpose the Revoltech remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Yamato's marketing department is doing a terrible job marketing this line. All the promotional pictures I've seen have shown the GN-U's in relatively static positions, whereas Kaiyodo's ads have always pushed their revoltechs to the limit.

The subbed DVD was completed, check out the post below. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...st&p=501320 It was supposed to be available for sale to all MW members with the proceeds going towards the cost of running MW's servers. But that never happened.

Macross Mikimoto drawing sold for $3,100
TheLoneWolf replied to Shawn's topic in Movies and TV Series
I don't collect cels, but I do consider them to be works of art, therefore I don't see any problem in people paying thousands of dollars for them. Btw, that's a great collection you have there valkyrie13. -
This reminds me of an old thread from years ago when a former member allegedly posted a top secret list of Yamato's future releases. Since it's now the "future," I wonder how accurate it was.

That's an incredible piece, fantastic work Jung! I really like how the Minmay decal appears on the right leg, with & without the armor.

Lawrence Kasdan pens Robotech movie?!

Interesting. Got a source? I'd love to see how the original draft differed from Kasdan's. -
Lawrence Kasdan pens Robotech movie?!
TheLoneWolf replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not to question Kasdan's writing ability, but I wouldn't give him too much credit for Empire. Leigh Brackett wrote about 90% of the Empire script and then, unfortunately, died. Kasdan was called in to finish it up. -
Off the top of my head the bonus disc includes the original 1-hour pilot (episodes 1-2); the original broadcast version of episode 11, so much animation is missing that it reminds me of Space Gandam V ; commercials for the ARII/IMAI and Takatoku models & toys; the opening and closing themes completely remastered, not sure what BV did but these segments look absolutely flawless on my HDTV; and the SD intro completely remastered, it also looks flawless. I think there are some other minor things like Mari singing the closing theme and a credit-less opening/closing sequences but I can't remember ATM.

Yes, the R2 definitely looks better than the Animeigo set. Here's a quick screenshot comparison I made. Image on the left is from the R2 set, on the right is the Animeigo set. Overall, the color looks more natural, the Animeigo looks oversaturated in comparison. You can also make out finer details in the R2 film. On the downside, the film grain is slightly more noticeable than the Animeigo set. I'm not trying to knock Animeigo, they did the best job they possibly could with HG's poor masters.

You got it. The best my scanner can do is 400 dpi, I hope that's good enough. PM me your email address and I'll send it over.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
TheLoneWolf replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The VF-1A also has a rainbow canopy, I guess the previous example wasn't a poorly cast version and is actually the final product. -

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the cassette contain episodes 1 - 3 whereas the DVD extra only contains episodes 1 - 2?
