  1. Few months back "assaultor" posted an awesome awesome CG model of a YF-19 that I would just kill for in color. So I hope he doesnt mind but I started to color it myself. Heres the original:
  2. Haha, dont worry about it. I was just playing around. Let me know if you run into any problems. Maybe I could help out. Truthfully, no clue about the tail fin but in all the pictures of seen and in the anime, the fins fold in so I wouldnt worry about it. Btw, mine folds in too.
  3. Giant sliding thing in the back? Back of which mode? I meant this... The big sliding bracket with the hugely visible screws. At least it's in the back in Battroid mode, but I can't stand it. Ah, I see. After I was done with the mods I was planning to putty up all the parts with screws. I cant stand the screws either and those caps dont do much since they look hidious and they tend to pop out a lot. I've lost a few already.
  4. This thread is long gone. Anyone who dislike Mac7 for any reason should just stay clear of any threads relating to them. Its that simple. Theres no need to pop in just to say "Basara likes men" and just pop back out. Leave it be and go partcipate in a thread that you actually care about. I've only been here for a bit over half a year and its getting ridiculous how many Mac7 threads get ruined or locked down. I truthfully could care less about Mac7 which is why I usually never bother to partcipate in any of the threads but there are some here who do and they have just as much right as you do to like whatever they want for whatever the reason they may have. I dont know why Mac7 haters need to come in and prove something or try to convince others of something. Those who watch Mac7 will come to their own conclusion and if they like it, it isnt like you can "unsissify" them by talking trash. So seriously, leave these threads alone and go do something else better with your time...
  5. There seems to be a bunch of ways of doing this. Super glue imo is just the ghetto way of doing it but it gets the job done. Plus, it came out a lot cleaner than I thought. Like I said before, I did this for kicks and just winged it. I more or less did it just to see if I was capable of doing it. I'm actually in the process of kitbashing a hasegawa yf-19 into a posable battroid mode so I just wanted to play around with joints, etc before I get around to working with my kitbash. I also was planning to make a Studio HalfEye kit soon so I just wanted to get familiar with joints, screws, etc before I move onto those projects. So yeah, this yamato mod is my frankenstein project to play around with.
  6. For anyone who wants to try this, they need to bring out thei YF-19 and compare pictures. What I did to mount on the balls was cut off the part that goes into the leg which are pretty much just two sticks that were screwed in. Make sure you dont cut beyond the green parts in the picture. After that, I just drilled it and shoved the ball joints thru... in which I just super glued again.
  7. The only part to watch out for when unscrewing the leg is the highlighted green piece in the picture. That ring and the spring under it is the only thing loose in the leg. Make sure you to watch out for this when you unscrew it.
  8. I was going to use putty to mount it but I got lazy and just super glued it. Its all the same to me since you dont see the inside and if theres any mess on the outside, I'll sand and recolor over it.
  9. Hold your horses. I told you I was busy yesterday. Anyways, heres the picture of the hip. The joint is actually mounted inside the leg. The reason for this is to make sure your legs arent too far apart in fighter mode. ill show you want i mean in a sec.
  10. you mean like me.... Wow, not bad. I dont think I couldve drawn that when I was 5 years old.
  11. Giant sliding thing in the back? Back of which mode?
  12. I agree. Geez. Mad skills. Nice drawings guys. Keep em coming.
  13. I feel for you... I really do... sniff... ah geez... I promise myself I wouldnt cry... You know whats the scary part of it all? I really dont think any of these pictures do justice to wm cheng's work. I MUST see these in person one of these days!
  14. Check this thread. IMO, there are plenty wrong with it that I hope to change. The fighter mode is much too fat and needs to be skinnier. For some the nose of the plane may be too short but I'm fine with it. Gerwalk mode looks kind of silly since its legs cant be bent forward enough. To me the legs are too long and a bit fat looking. There'll be some things that I probably cant mod but we'll see how things go... I plan to mod my 21 next. That might be awhile tho since theres a lot to work with the 19.
  15. Look more a Max vf-19A... hmmmm S.H.E. Heh, the low vis also has a tint of dark blue here and there... I guess my version was just a bit brighter. Nevertheless, I like the low vis/max YF-19. Hahah... yeah, thats the SHE model. I just used it to recolor since it was easier. Damn... I wish the Yamato looked like the SHE. Thanx! I'm actually pretty busy today so I'll see if I can get around to take pictures either later tonight or hopefully tomorrow.
  16. Ooo... those are nice pictures. I never knew those even existed. Where is the front/back view picture from?
  17. like this? I dunno if there were ever any drawings of a "full frontal" shot of the GBP.
  18. Hmm... or maybe a low vis color?
  19. So uhh... anyone have the ivanov sv-51 hasegawa kit and would like to scan it for me?
  20. Hehe... photoshop makes it easy.
  21. I'll probably start making them at 1280X960. Although 1280X1024 is more commonly used, its the not the same ratio as 1024X768. I dont know why it was made but 1280X1024 is the only resolution (besides widescreens) that doesnt share the same ratio has the normal 800X600, 1024X768, etc. Here are the Mac Zero ones at 1280X1024. I myself use 1280X960 and I actually dont mind it stretched a bit. The main reason why I make it 1024X768 is becuz any bigger, its going to be a pain to dial up people and second, most of the pictures I use arent that hi-res to begin with, so you're going to end up losing quality no matter what... whether I am the one who enlarges it or your computer that stretches it. So keep in mind that just because I make it "higher res" doesnt mean its going to be "better quality". But Ill try my best to make them 1280X960 now. Heres the VF-0... Yes, I know the funky resolution of 1280x1024 is a 1.25 aspect ratio, but it just looks better on my current 21" monitor. Ideally, I'd like to have every picture I download at 1600x1200 resolution and then resize it to fit whatever needs I may have. But it's not a perfect world I understand the need for lower resolutions for people on dial up. However, I'm of the opinion that if you're spending that much effort to make wallpapers, it's criminal make them such low resolution. In a few years when you upgrade your computer or buy a new monitor, all your artwork is too small. I am also an amatuer digital photographer, so I routinely deal with pictures in resolutions 3000 x 2250 or larger, which I then shrink to whatever resolution a particular user requires. I also deal with much higher graphic samples. I just assume most other people working on wallpapers would do the same. If you don't work from hi res scans, I totally understand. I just like to ask in case you do. High resolution wallpapers are few and far between. High resolution Macross artwork is rarer still. I was just more or less everyone know since you brought up a good point since i know a lot of MWers here would like them at higher res. I would definitely try to make them bigger from now. I hope you can deal with it being 1280X960 since I would liek it to be the same ratio as the other resolutions so people can freely enlarge or shrink them.
