  1. The absence of the e30 M3 is unexcusable. They put in piles of crappy Daihatsus, Hondas and Isuzu's that no one cares about but they don't bother putting in the winningest race car in history, and the only REAL M3. Makes no sense.
  2. The notion of the VF-1D being only a trainer can be traced back to Robotech, where the VF-1D was ALWAYS referred to as a trainer.
  3. What about them sucks so much, exactly? The only PS2 DS controllers I've used for any great length are the gold ones that came with my Z Gundam PS2. And they're cool, if only because they're gold. Bling bling, baby.
  4. It's from the late 60's, street car version of Alfa's Tipo 33 race car which they campaigned in races like Le Mans. Hard to find much info on it, though I've read as few as 18 were made and that it weighed a little over 1200lbs. Either way, it's gorgeous.
  5. If I had a million bucks I probably wouldn't be spending it all on a new car. I'd be more interested in picking up a GT40, Shelby Daytona Coupe or finding a way to invest that million to make more money and buying an Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale (the most beautiful car in the world).
  6. I kind of doubt it, but it won't be difficult (or too expensive) to import it.
  7. The joystick I'm using now is the older style RedOctane pad. It's alright, but not great. The buttons are good quality (real arcade parts) but they skimped on the stick itself which feels loose and it's hard to pull off 1/4-circle turns with it. But for $25, it's not too bad. If I used it more I'd think of picking up a better stick, but as it is now I haven't used it in over 6 months. I am thinking about picking up one of those new Street Fighter II game padspads, since they're cheaper than the Saturn pads Sega's releasing for the PS2.
  8. Shooter, not FPS. As in.. Raiden, Ikaruga, etc? Better than the original Dual Shock, but still a shoddy substitute for the triggers on the DC/GC/XBox. Although I've been playing GT4 on my friend's steering wheel w/ pedals and I'm beginning to think that's the only way to really play racing games...
  9. As you said diffrent strokes for diffrent folks... No it's not... If I can still play Street Fighter for over and hour with it and not get pissed off at it, it's a good pad. You're honestly the first person I've talked to who thought so. I just spent 15 minutes playing a shooter with my dual shock (PS2 -> USB converter on my laptop) and my thumb is in pain. The way the pad is set up really doesn't set itself up well for constant movement, you're not able to "roll" your thumb around on it like you can any other d-pad. For games that use it occasionalyl it's fine, but for soemthing like a shooter where you're constantly movement and need recise movements, it's too painful to use and woefully inadequate compared to superior d-pads found on other consoles.
  10. But then you'd have a souped up coupe version of a boring family sedan, instead of an expensive exotic. Apples to oranges.
  11. Er, yeah, I meant not counting 2D-only systems. The Saturn wasn't really a 2D system, it was developed as a 2D system originally and it's 3D offerings are pretty crap-tastic. As for the d-pads, different strokes for different folks. Point is that the Dual Shock's d-pad is horrible.
  12. Uhh, define "serious"... People that play lots of 2D games like fighter and shooters and don't need a craptastic D-pad messing you up. The round shape makes it easier to pull off diagonal moves, and the Saturn is the best 2D system anyways, so it kind of goes hand in hand.
  13. Nothing to do with being a n00b, most of the people posting these threads on Stealth are long-time members. They just need to 'search.'
  14. Sweet! I haven't heard of this movie yet.
  15. Gay MacrossWorld? I thought that was Robotech.com? Less door knobs over there though, they're all about "sliding glass doors."
  16. I dig the front end on the RS4. My problem with it is that it still looks too much like a prettied-up Volkswagen.
  17. How big are the files, Nick? I can probably help host them. PM me.
  18. I honestly don't care about Mari Ijima, so I suppose this is a bigger deal to other people than myself. But I hope that for $25 we have a decently organized lunch, given my experiences a couple years ago when Exo paid $40 and got about three slices of pizza. And I hope she doesn't get too freaked out.
  19. Been playing it a bit at my friends house. Honestly, looking through all the cars is probably the most fun in the game as I tended to just get frustrated otherwise. It's detailed, but not really "fun." Glad I ended up not buying it.
  20. The pressure sensitivity is a poor replacement for the trigger buttons found on modern game controllers, which are pretty much necessary for racing games. The PS2 d-pad is horrible for any sort of 2D or d-pad instensive game. Why they insisted on being completely different from every other d-pad in existence, I have no idea, but it sucks. It's not a bad controller per se, perfectly acceptable for 1998 but compared to it's peers it's lacking.
  21. Yeah I got it but I am not laughing. Agreed. I think Sony's problems go beyond that. Much of it has to do with Sony's reputation of being the "best" and as a result of that, their lax quality control assuming that everyone will buy what they make based simply because it's a Sony. The PS2 is a good example, not only is it stupid ugly, it's had all sorts of QC issues. The clincher for me is that they didn't even bother making a new controller, when the PS1 controller was seriously flawed and outdated compared to it's competitors. But they're Sony... people will buy it anyways.

  23. So fat and ugly don't mix with being evil? Fat people are jolly. Or horribly depressed.
  24. I think it has more to do with the script, Lucas apparently can't write a decent script to save his life. Not to mention, the romance scenes bewteen Anakin and Amidala in EpII proved that Lucas has no comprehension on how people actually interact with each other. The trailer was technically impressive, but the acting sucked and it looks like a boring movie. I've recently figured out that fan movies are just dumb, especialyl full-length ones. You go to all this effort, but you still end up with a derivative work you can't really call your own because it's based on somebody else's creation. If people have this much skill and resources, they'd be better spent creating their own original works rather than trying to make their own stupid Star Wars movie.

I think the second angle is better, just take out the eyeballs... they make it look a little ridiculous.
