  1. I'm offended by GTA's horrible graphics, and that's about it. If peopel are going to start bitching about video game violence, might as well take it up with the movie and music industries as well and just remove all our free speech rights. Better yet, be a decent parent and don't blame your kid's failures as a human being on video games.
  2. Not to mention he got really defensive about peopel making fun of him, so I'm guessing he actually did mess up his Xbox and then tried to cover it up by claiming he didn't.
  3. Was the first D&D movie even that successful enough to warrant a sequel? Color me surprised. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay has a much better world setting for a movie compared to the D&D settings, but.. eh.
  4. XBox owners... Now back to Halo 2.
  5. Don't make yourself look like an ass by using words you don't understand; I'm pretty sure you weren't implying Panzer is of Indo-Iranian descent. Edumacate yo'self: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=aryan
  6. I thought the Mac2 game was kinda weak. The timer was an un-needed feature and detracts heavily from the game. It was a pain in the ass, but it made sure you couldn't progress in the game by simply throwing in credits. Actually enforced that the player had soem sort of skill. Still though, hard as hell. But fun.
  7. Toss up between SDF Macross for the PS2 and the Macross II shooter. The latter is more fun, but the former is probably what more people are looking for.
  8. Worse than a new Tom Cruise, he's a new Ben Aflek! To be fair, Colin Farrel hasn't starred in a Kevin Smith movie... so he's not at Affleck's level of crapulence. Yet.
  9. I wouldn't doubt most of them are douche bags, but I can see where they're coming from given how awesome those cars are. Impractical and obscene, yes, but still damn impressive.
  10. Firs tof all, those pictures are of him just walking around the set... he's not even being filmed so you can't really get a "feel" for what he's going to look like on film. Second of all,you guys are worse than anal retentive anime fans. There's no way this movie is going to be a carbon copy of the original TV show. The wardrobe of the characters is not going to be exactly the same, and they won't be able to please everyone with their actor choice because you guys are looking at the original with fond nostalgia. As I said before, you guys find a crappy Michael Mann and THEN I'll get worried. He's easily one of the best modern directors and does cop/crime movies amazingly well, so I have some faith in him.
  11. Well, if the rumors of Kevin Smith directing it turn out to be true... I'd gladly take Lucas back. Smith is stupidly overrated and the complete opposite of entertaining.
  12. Er, wanna explain? I haven't played much GTA Vice City, and during what little I did play I was in various states of extreme inebriation so it's pretty fuzzy.
  13. Well, look what Collateral did for Tom Cruise. The pictures of Farrell as Sonny look almost identical to the TV series, has it actually been confirmed the show is set in modern times?
  14. As impossible as it sounds, I don't really see how Miami Vice could be a bad movie considering it's being written and directed by Michael Mann, who has never made a bad movie. It might not be great, and it certainly won't be "Heat" level... but I'm expecting it to at least be competent.
  15. I've heard about the bogeyman, but I don't believe it. WAAH WAAAH WAAAAAH That last one made 980rwhp on the stock block.
  16. The 2JZGTE engine in the twin-turbo Supra is arguably one of the most reliable high-performance engines in the world. The stock block can take up to 600HP safely, and I've heard about 900HP automatic Supras that get daily driven.
  17. Just because people misinterpret the word in our country doesn't mean that's what it really means. By that same token you should go up to a Japanese anime fan and call ourself an "otaku," I'm sure they'll get a kick out of that. It's really just stupid semmantics, and I'm aware of what the perception of "anime" and "manga" is in the U.S. (hell, in the U.K. Japanese animation is often called manga thanks to the popularity of a large anime releasing company...). In this case, refusing to call the new Robotech series "anime" is just fanboy anal-retentiveness, when you consider a Japanese production studio is involved and moreso when you realize just how much "Japanese" animation is actually animated in Korea and other south east asian countries.
  18. You sure it's an actual eruption? I was just watching the news and it said it was just soem smoke plumes.
  19. You realise, anime simply means cartoon, right? And opera means musical. Anime is the Japanese word for animation, so technically any animation is "anime." Not to mention anime is written as アニメ、in katakana, as it is a word derived from a foreign language (French, I think?) so saying that it can only be used for indigenous Japanese animation is rediculous. It's commonly used in the U.S. to only describe Japanese animation, but really animation is animation and in the Japanese meaning cartoons are cartoons.
  20. Well, there's something to be said for an under-stressed motor. The bigger the engine, the less it has to work hard to get the power the more reliable it becomes, at least in theory. Plus there's the "brag factor" of saying you have a crazy motor with x amount of cylinders. High HP numbers can be misleading too, take the Toyota Supra for instance. There are Supras that make 900+ HP, but because of the relatively low weight of the car they can't get traction for poo meaning that in situations like drag racing, they pull substancially lower times than they should. Hence the nickname "dyno queen."
  21. If we're talking power-to-weight I'll take a turbo charged 'Busa, looks a helluva lot cooler too. Caterhams are nifty, but outside of the bare-bones philosophy, there isn't much appealing about them. Are there any race series for them in the U.S.?
  22. I think just about all of those are from the BGC B-Club Special, the "holy grail" of BGC books.
  23. Hey, you never know! I had a member (now banned) once threaten me and challenge me to a "fight" at the next Bay Area MW meet. He sure showed me.
