Given that Klingonator joined on March 17th, right around the time MGREXX was making his Robotech/Yukikaze conspiracy threads, it's pretty obvious Klingonator joined simply to harass MGREXX about past arguments on Robotech.com and Arcadia.

MacrossWorld Con 5 location

Depending on how many colors that is, that's a hell of a lot of money per shirt. -
PC98 emulation is a major pain in the ass, although I seem to recall one of the iMacross servers having the emulator and the three rom packs for the Macross games available for download. At one point a year or two ago I managed to get one of the games to work on my ex-GF's computer, but haven't touched it since then.

You mean you didn't notice that when I posted a pic of the truck? That picture's so blurry, it'd be hard to notice much of anything...

All cars participating in the SCCA SoloII National Tour have to wear Tire Rack banners, as they sponsor the series; it's not a personal sponsor.

Easiest way is just to buy a Japanese PS2, but certainly not as cheap. I have a big gold PS2 that rarely gets played, except for the rare times I feel like getting my Yoshinoya on.

A Trio of Hero's set to join the cast of X3.

I never understood how popular the X-Men movies were, they were ridiculously vapid little movies that everyone seemed to LOVE. If the world's greatest comic book in thw rodl (Judge Dredd) can't be made in to a decent movie, what's the point? -
MGREXX's post is no more ridiculous than all the Macross butt-humpers on this forum who come up with all sorts of crazy conspiracies about HG. P.S. YAAAAAAAY. Robotech.com forum drama.

2nd gens (like mine, 1986-1991) have the benefit of having N/A versions, which while slower are much more reliable. If I had the money right now I'd be putting a Chevy LS1 into the car, but I can't right now so it stays as it is. Great, cheap cars, just not very competitive at autocross because they get put in the same class as Miata's. Ends up with me getting beat-up by the Miata's, and me beating up the MR2s.

Dude, judging from everything you've said you haven't even autocrossed. "Rough" courses? The two SCCA SoloII regions in southern California (Fresno and San Diego) both race at very smooth venues, so I have no idea what you're talking about. As for narrow courses, once again you're showing that you've had no experience autocrossing. Cars much larger than yours that have much more difficulty turning are commonplace. Off the top of my head I can think of a wide-bodied GT350, numerous Camaros, and at least one or two late-60's Mustang fastbacks. I also fail to see how heavily modified suspension would be a hidnrance racing, as there are plenty of cars that have almost no suspension travel and yet still do fine at the SF region's questionably bumpy courses.

Myself and I lot of people I race with autocross their daily drivers, and it's actually pretty common. Usually the autocross cars that get trailered in are the ones that are in a class like Street Mod, and are no longer street legal. Lightning06, why'd you pick the LeBaron as a base for a race car? I don't mean that in a negative way, just curious.
-
Your opinion is your opinion, but I'm glad to see that you gave up trying to argue that drifting was the cheapest type of motorsports to get into short of drag racing (just a quick refresher, the cheapest is indeed autocross). Not to mention giving up on the notion that autocross is somehow inferior or not as worthwhile as your "road racing," of which you actually have yet to participate in. I didn't mean the canyons, I meant your constant use of Initial D-isms like "battle" and ridiculous JDM words like "aero."

Hey, I've heard it from the local SCCA types. Hear it alot online, too. Nobody's really serious. It's like Nissan and Mazda owners. We talk down on each other's cars all the time, but we all know it's just kidding around. How exactly have you heard it from local SCCA autocrossers if you're too big headed to go to autocross events? Seriously man, you're back-pedaling and just making up nonsense at this point. Drop the attitude that you're hot poo with your InitialD/JDM slang and stop trying to impress people online by calling yourself a 'road racer' when you're obviously not. Your nonsense and lies are infuriating. I jumped on you first because you were representing and spreading false ideas about autocross and since then you've done nothing but prove you know even less than I thought you did.
-
My advice is to stop hanging out idiots. If they're laughing at the notion of autocross being a worthless addition to your driving resume, they're pretty clueless and probably just as inexperienced as you. No, now you're simply making up things up.

Stands a chance of being remotely interesting, in that case.

That car is all sorts of hot, love the Panasports. Guessing this was a pretty cheap project?

Dude, get over yourself. Just because you've done a few track days and drift events does not make you a "road racer," ditch the ego. Are you even reading what you're typing? I don't understand if you're trying to brag, or just being completely naive. Dude, that car sounds awesome. You have any pictures? My parents brought me hoem from the hospital in an 82 Civic Hatch so I've always had an affinity for the older ones, and always thought it'd be cool to put a decent motor in one.
-
Well, there's the logic in drifiting around a corner? It's slower. The heart of drift is to look cool, it's not about performance or speed or logic. What's a Superoo?

I'd like to start a petition asking that Samuel Jackson limits himself to one movie a year. He's in so much crap, whatever credibility he received from Pulp Fiction has been flushed down the toilet long ago.

What kind of wheel to wheel racinghave you done? You said you've done track days, so I've guessing your "exagerating" your passing of other cars by describing it as "battling." As Panzer said, lay off the Initial D. Driving like an assclown on mountain roads gets you killed, and there's absolutely nothing cool about a kid who kills himself racing on a curvy road because he "thinks" he knows how to handle a car. You've posted about how you crashed your Dad's Miata doing dumb poo on a mountain road, so I don't think your mountain driving should be a badge of honor. For you, or anyone for that matter.

I should mention first that you don't have to be competitive to have fun, so bitching about being a bad driver is a poor excuse. How else are you going to learn and get better unless you practice and get your ass handed to you? Every time I go out I get my ass handed to me by Miatas, but it's still fun. Expecting to be able to be Schumacher when you step out onto the track is idiotic. You need to read the SCCA class regulations. Most of your mods would pass in the Street Touring class, which allows almost no engine modifications, so that excuse of yours is bunk. The sad truth is that you, or any other "drifter" or dude with a suped up car is going to go to an autocross course and suck like a NASCAR driver on a right hand turn. People won't complain about illegal modifications until you start beating people, which won't happen for a while, I can promise you that. So that excuse is worthless. All offense intended, a self-proclaimed "drifter" has NO right to talk trash about any legitimate form of motorpsorts. Said it before, say it again: ice skating on four wheels. Secondly, have you ever autocrossed? I sincerely doubt you have, as I have yet to meet anyone who had any semblance of humility proclaim that autocross is "boring." If you did autocross and found it "boring," more than likely you got your ass handed to you and would prefer non-competitive events like track days and drifting. THAT'S OKAY. But don't talk down on autocross because of it. Damn! You're right! Autocross has made me so afraid of driving my car at full speed, I won't go over 60mph on the freeway! Damn, where have I gone wrong?

Never under estimate a dumbass in in the middle of a mid-life crisis trying to impress someone at high speeds in his new toy. But hey, if I wrecked I'd rather have to replace plastic body panels than metal ones, much cheaper. Reminds me of my motorcycle maitenance teacher telling us how much he feared dropping his 999R, given that it has completely CF fairings which means you'll start shelling out $5k for pieces just to fix a crack. Wrong. They have stock classes, where the only mods allowed are pretty much aftermarket shocks and r-comps. Classes are broken up so you're only competing against equal cars (sort of), so the idea is you can be semi-competitive in just about anything. My friend's Dad is owning D-stock in a '01 Celica with nothing but shocks and 720's. Definately cheaper than any other motorsport. As for big flashy rims and "aero" we're talking about RACING here, performance > looks in this situation so bitiching about not being able to roll up on bling bling with carbon fiber hoods and junk your car doesn't even need is a poor argument. Anyways, you're bitching about motorsports being so expensive? Stop putting unecessary junk on your car and you'll have plenty of money to do race events. Most autocross courses I've been to top out around 60mph, but events like those put on by the AAS (designed for Corvettes and dem big 'Merican cars) usually see cars hitting the top of 3rd gear. I'll also throw in the fact that autocross drivers make more decisions per minute than F1 drivers. Just because it's done with cones in a parking lot doesn't make it any less of a motorsport, and it's actually probably the best to start out with since autocrossers cross over VERY easily into track driving. Drivers going from track to autocross don't do so well. Drifitng is nifty, but it's the motorsports equivalent of ice skating.
-
Usually autocross costs about $25-30, depends on who's organizing it though. I Run with the San Francisco Region (which happens to be the best SCCA region in the US-- just means I get my ass kicked that much more) and you also have to be a SCCA member. So $30 per event plus $70 for the SCCA membership. Downside with autocross is relatively little seat time per dollar, compared to track events. Upside is that it's smallr amounts (easier to save up for), safer (lower speeds), and it's actual timed competition, which goes a long way. If I had more money I'd be spending my time at Infineon and Thunderhill, but I'm a poor college student so I'll keep getting my ass handed to me by Miatas in autocross.

That's not true in the least, I'd be very hard pressed to find something cheaper than Auto-X. With drifting the way you go through tires and mess up body panels (not to mention feees for drift days) definately comes out more expensive than auto-xing. Auto-x has enough variety in it's classes you can run a stock class and not have to buy anything, unless you feel like shelling out for r-comps to stay competitive.
